Are you thinking of movies when you picture Ollivander's shop? He said clearly in book one that "Every Ollivander wand has a core of a powerful magical substance, Mr. Potter. We use unicorn hairs, phoenix tail feathers, and the heartstrings of dragons." We says we use means previous Ollivanders also not I use.
Kurotora:True Garrick only uses 3 cores, but he's running a family business. as such it stands to reason that other members of his family have used other cores. plus that store was covered in wands, how realistic to believe that ALL those wands have a dragon heartstring/unicorn hair/phoenix feather? especially given the rarity of phoenixes.

sorry not a reader and probably wont be but... ....u do know the wand shop sells more than (the?(dont even know what u are specifying)) three types of cores....right..... i mean..... where would u even come up with that

i only gave 1 issue with the background for this story. the author says there's no realistic way for an orphan to get a special core wand. however it's been said time and time again that the wand chooses the wizard/witch, which means an orphan has just as much chance if not more so than a child from an established magic family. especially since the magic family's usually have a type of magic that comes easier to them because of their bloodline, and as such children of established magic families will likely have a wand that leans towards that magic. Or the wizard/witch has a custom made wand in which case, yes an orphan won't have the funds to have a custom wand.

I've read the books. he did indeed say they used those cores in the store. however that means they had to have tested other cores in order to settle on those specific one's. so there could be wands with other cores in the store.
