man I don't understand you guys cuz in that relationship it was 100 percent one sided and admittedly that one side was great and it was beautiful and it was love and it was the whole thing but the other half was not even a part of the same relationship there was no love in the end he barely saw her his family cuz she joined Fairy Tail and even in the show the few times that he protects her he says he did it cuz she's in Fairytale he doesn't even say cuz she's family..... I mean sure the show gives a lot of service to the idea they're great couples but that's just it fake showings that get the ratings up or gags like The Love Potion episodes and then after they went too far they had no choice but to go through with it or else the fans would have hated it............. ........... Fairy Tail in general just doesn't have good relationships... off the top of my head I can't think of a single one that's even healthy if u do know one i would like/love to know
