This is translation review, not novel review. If you are not familiar with it, webnovel has started westernizing most of the novels in 2021. This is awful practice that kills original novel. At best you get only names, places and organizations westernized and at worst you get half novel gutted and other half totally rewritten by translator. With best case scenario you get only names, places and organizations westernized which introduces plotholes cause while names are westernized, actual writing and character culture arent. You get chinese way of thinking, chinese places and organizations translated into most famous western (USA) alternatives and as a result you see absurdity. And with the worst case scenario, you are not actually reading original authors work, but some "translators" plagiarization cause half novel is removed (sometimes critical explanations) and other half is badly rewritten. And cause this requires so much work compared to normal translation, either webnovel is stealing original authors work and rewriting it (cause most of those novels dont come from qidian) or they are just using translators that dont know chinese so they are rewriting story with help of MTL (seen too many edited MTL translations lately on webnovel). overall any westernized novel deserves automatic 1 star review.

nah.. i just go and read synopsis of new novels and if i see westernized name inside i paste this review... when i made shorter review attacking westernization i needed a lot more replies to explain why westernization is bad. this is why i have made one review for all westernized novels in which it is briefly explained why it is bad.

read Astral pet store it dosent have it and it nicely has things that reveal what's comon in China culture

Are you sure you're not a bot? I am certain I've seen this reply on a dozen different novels....it does make me wonder though....if I were to write an actual westernised cultivation novel....would your warning show up?

Well, there is obviously more money in westernization. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put that together. Otherwise they wouldn’t bother with translations and such. Frankly, it’s also simpler to translate into English because most folks speak English or are taught English in school so to hit a broader audience to generate more money for time spent they decided to westernize their work. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it past being biased towards a native language. Cultural changes shouldn’t happen but the language should be broad. Also, translators need to work on their translating skills and their language filler.
i think you are confusing translation with westernization. cultural difference happen cause they are translating novel that happens in some town in china, but are replacing that place with US names and US location. and behavior that is normal in china is totally out of place in western country. specially when they start with some racist BS.
