It's alright. Not quite my cup of tea, though, for two reasons. 1. The MC is too selfless for my tastes (befriends Naruto, rescues Karin, wants strength to "protect his friends and family"). It makes him feel kinda flat and unrealistic. 2. The MC is too powerful. He claims to be at chunin level as an academy student, and manages to fight off Sasori as a genin. There's just an uncomfortable divide between how strong he is, and how strong his friends and family are, which makes this story hard to relate to. The MC isn't really a human with hopes, dreams, and fears. He's an ideal of selflessness and strength, the ultimate knight in shining armor. I don't doubt his validity as a character, but he's just not for me.

LIKEOh, don't get me wrong. If I met this kind of person while jogging, I would probably enjoy their company. They aren't, however, very interesting to read about. Honestly, I also hate the arrogant, ruthless, harem-seeking type, although for a different reason. Every such protagonist seems to be less intelligent than the last, and their actions all seem repulsive and self destructive. I do, however, have a theory on why some people might like such characters. A lot of people view assertiveness as a positive trait, and all of these characters come across as assertive, albeit at the cost of every other positive or interesting trait. As proof, consider everyone commenting "beta mc" on anything unique or interesting. We might have different tastes, but I hope you still found my review to be helpful!
Trolley_I:I like this kind of protagonist. I don't understand why people like the ruthless harem Seeking arrogant selfish protagonist. There is a lot of novels I dropped because I felt the mc is too selfish.
