Well, the protagonist was tortured for almost 1 year as soon as he was reincarnated, he suffered in every possible way, an ordinary person would not survive what he suffered, so it is logical to imagine that the MC's personality would change with these events, mine philosophy professor always talked about a saying: "A frog drank water in a river, the next week the same frog returned to the same river, but he was no longer the same frog", ok, in his words this was more beautiful (I swear) , but the point is: After all, our personality is shaped based on personal experiences... but it doesn't happen here. The protagonist has an "unreal" personality, it is as if he had not suffered so many physical and psychological tortures, he literally acts like an ordinary child (even though he is not a child), he has an irritating and childlike personality, he is not a "imposing" protagonist, he seeks acceptance, he wants to be friend with everyone, help everyone, he does not have the will of a great protagonist, he is simply a blank board that is shaped to fill the story in the way that the author wants it, what i want to say is: He is a beta (just my opinion). I feel like the author just put the torture part because he thought it would be "cool": "Wow, all the main characters that were tortured are badass", he didn't use torture as a method of evolution in the MC's personality. . The relationship that he has with his "friends" is IRRITANT, everything is so robotic and superficial, when the author extends the dialogues between them it becomes much clearer, it is simply frustrating, nothing flows in a decent way, it's a one-way relationship, where the MC is subservient and tells his secrets in an idiotic way I honestly think that this novel could be very good, the idea is interesting, i liked of the writing, the universe "harry potter" is very good, the novel takes little ideas from different fanfics (i may be wrong, but I saw some little similarities with other's HP fanfics), this is not bad at all, i think it "ennobles" the universe, but the protagonist's personality makes this novel relatively bad...

LIKENot a fan of stories where the author makes the MC go through a world changing experience and come out like nothing happened. If a person went through a year of on and off torture, they will at least come out twitchy around other people and avoid physical contact with other humans specially ones he is not close to. And till they get over their trauma they will be withdrawn.
u miss something here. The MC turned to be calm because of the rituals which was done to him causing a mixtue of the strongest magical creatures with occlumency into him. It make him surprisingly calm, but the MC is still traumatic due to not talking about them to others. There's no way the MC be afraid of physical contact because thats what is so missing in Mc life, death of his parents early on, torture, force being calm due to beast blood, avenging his parents' death. no one will be afraid if this situations are to happen on someone whose mindset is to be strongest to avenge his parents death. additionally, he knew the HP plotline from previous line, with that its much more logical to make the MC to take revenge against the enemy instead of being dunche due to torture. He is not Neville Longbottom, he has gone years of life in previous incarnation, it gives him mature mentality. well not forcing, it is still so good to try this novel.

I’ll give it a shot. Though when I say jumpy at a touch, it doesn’t necessarily mean he is afraid. People that go through long torture are jumpy. Lookup PTSD, or abuse victims. Even if they aren’t afraid anymore, they subconsciously become twitchy around people. Specially people they aren’t close to.

I thought the same, but well i dropped this after his first tourture. I mean he just experienced something life changing and he cry, self pity and even seems broken. But in the mxt paragraph he become normal again but with the self pity. Lol, its like author wanting some drama and even describe it, but done want his personality to change. Even mind arts have limits after all hes a newbie at it. I also keep coming back cuz this novel is high in ranking, but officially dropped it when he is in the wizard hospital. Cuz of the nurse 2 personality and when author create another drama but the that drama’s mood is thrown in the nxt pragraph. 🤷🏻♂️
i completely agreed with you, so i think you will like Master of time, mc doesn't get tortured by someone but his own power like jumping involuntary in the future at the exact time when a nuclear explosion happens in front of him when he appeared and with his power he come back at the moment before his death and died like 1000+ times before being able to use his power after that got completely mentally twisted
