Are you the type who can't stand a good hearted MC? As far as I read, MC is nowhere a beta. He is kind when he needs to be and ruthless to those he needs to be. You read far too many Chinese novels if you expect the so called Alpha male to go on killing spree and have cold , vicious personality. MC is perfect example of Alpha male.

Stfu, nothing is wrong with a beta MC, however many do not enjoy reading a novel with a beta MC, that is all.. nothing is wrong with them, people have their own tastes, that's why he included it in his comment, to save some peoples time.

I mean, how many famous films and books do you see out there who actually have an MC who is a complete alpha with an harem and so powerfull anyone can't stand a chance. If they are too powerfull they are comic (Saitama,Luffy,Leonidas,Momonga,Goku), if they have determination it's because they suffer (SpiderMan,Harry Potter,Batman), if they have an objective it's probably something hard to achive (Midoriya,Naruto,X-Man). I mean nothing wrong about OP MC's with no mercy but they look more like wish fulfillment fantasies than a good relatable story that everyone remembers, trust me you will get tired of that genre pretty soon.

Creating alpha MC stories can be so easy that china has millions of them just laying around with so many chapters only to repeat the same cicle. find bad guy, stole bad guy wife,stole bad guy treasures,defeat bad guy whole family, family has bad guy friend ,repeat. The only thing that changes it's where the bad guy is located who usually goes this way village->city->capital->other country->other continent->other dimension. Mix some Strange names for a technique with ranked cultivation to simulate a RPG game and there you go food for the masses.

just read a Japanese novel if you want a beta mc they're full of it, of course not every japs novel has a beta mc there's exception, so choose carefully and pick the one with the beta mc

It's actually funny, i had the chance to read japanase who focus on beta, and chinese with the alfa, not a rule of course, and both types become a little repetitive like you reading the same stuff with different names, RPG for japan, XianXia for china, that's why i came back for my favourites in form of fanfictions especially from western works and mangas who usually are neither. That's why by comparing fanfictions to the originals i think it's good to keep that neither, in this novel the author tries to follow the setting and morals of the characters of the HP universe. He is not an alpha but i wouldn't call it beta too.
