This is the definition of a hidden gem. The characters are realistic and likeable, which is the biggest problem I find with stories similar to this one. There's this plot line about the players who were isekaied into this world knowing that this isn't real life but can quite remember their original life, which is done very well. The world isn't very flushed out, but then again there's only 39 chapters as I'm writing this review. Overall my only problem is that there isn't enough chapters

TL;DR - great premise, ******* execution. I agree on "hidden gem" assessment with other reviewers. This novel definitely stands aside from many cookie cutter xianxia on this site. As for genre, I'd say it is a xianxia/mystery with a slight transmigration twist. Now, is the novel good? I am... rather conflicted. On one hand, I read all the 60 chapters available in one sitting and am even so impressed I am writing this review, so its definitely not trash. On the other hand I find myself not adding the novel to my library - after getting a solid taste of what is it like I am just not very exciting for the next chapter. Writing quality is average. It could be the author is just trying to imitate (poorly written and translated) xianxia novels, and this is causing his own prose to be generic and uninspiring. It definitely has that cultivation aftertaste - phrases like "boundless heavens", "with a flick of wrist" etc. being peppered all over the chapters. It doesn't quite go down to "repeating explanations several times in a row" type of bad, but still there's much to improve in pure technical writing aspect. For the story, the only good thing for me is mystery. I would honestly like to know how and who is behind the transmigration and fall of Heaven. So, the premise of the story is 5/5, I was hooked from the begging. But again, while the premise is great, the main body of story is disappointing. Its... slap-dash? Uneven, unstructured. Events just happen, it seems - enemies and allies are revealed spontaneously and just as easily discarded. The tone is inconsistent too - at a certain point it was nearly a slice of life comedy! It definitely feels like the writer is making stuff up as he goes, without deeper consideration - so if the writer isn't caring about his world building, why should I?

Daily life of a cultivation judge

Yang Qing sighed as he gazed upon the black building that stood tall piercing the skies above with an inviolable aura around it. "The Order sure is black-hearted," he angrily thought as he made his way into the building begrudgingly. The building could be considered his home away from home and a source of endless grief for him due to its unforgiving working hours. The building housed the courtrooms of the Cultivation Order Society, an organization founded to maintain a semblance of order in the ruthless cultivation world of the southern continent who if left to their own devices would sink the whole continent to the ground. Due to how impetuous cultivators were, the cases never stopped. "Yi Jie, what do we have today?" "Two cultivators at the palace realm fought over a treasure and destroyed half of the territory of the blue deer kingdom in their fight, A rogue cultivator is suing the owner of the falling meteor blacksmith shop for selling him a faulty saber that keeps attracting lightning tribulations. A cultivator suffering from pill poisoning is blaming it on the white hilltop restaurant as he suspects they are feeding their spirit beasts pills to make them bigger and fatter. And the last case is 500 families are suing a cultivator by the name of Ren Fu for being negligent as a husband and a father whilst also pilfering their resources dry as he moves from place to place.," Awkward silence ensues........... Join me as we follow Yang Qing in his role as a judge in the Cultivation Order Society with cases and troubles that never seem to end. Fair warning the story has multiple POVs. Re-edited chapter (50/50) Second milestone (71/150) All support matters whether it's power stones, comments, reviews, golden tickets, subscriptions, or those who buy privilege chapters or even lurking readers..I welcome all your support in whatever format it comes in and I thank you for it, It really does mean a lot, especially to rookie authors like myself.
