If you read further, you’d realize the teachers are nowhere near as powerful as you think they are and the whole Magocracy is controlled by the council of mages. The school doesn’t have any Grandmaster mages so as a granddaughter of a Grandmaster mage, the teachers would be too scared to do anything. Just by looking at the name, “Magocracy,” it’s quite obvious that the country is ruled by mages and the mages who hold the most power would “probably” be able to do whatever the **** they want. Forgot to mention that in a Magocracy, it’s seems that people there respect power, not potential as a genius is only a genius if they can stay alive, so the ones who already have power have more sway than someone with no background but has potential. Lol, I already said in one of these comments I’m 17 and there’s no way I’d spend my time writing a story when I could be playing Warzone, (and yes, reading is different from writing, requires a lot more brainpower that I don’t feel like using during my break) and if you were actually reading some of my comments you’d see that some people had some misconceptions of what happened in story, such as this thread right here, the guy thought the sister was raped but she actually wasn’t, now think about what other people would’ve thought about the novel because someone said the MCs sister got raped even though it wasn’t true? People aren’t even trying to read the novel because others are calling the Mc a b**** right off the rip, I simply wanted these other people to give it a shot, *Spoiler* because would a beta kill tens of people just to save his sister, not to mention pit himself against one of the strongest people known to man when it could end up causing his death? But no one would know that because they didn’t read the story and even ones who “reviewed” it based it off of the 20 something chapters they had read. *Spoiler* Although he was being hella beta for running away, wasn’t what I had expected to happen tbh. Anyways, I have no problem with other people having an opinion, it’s just that while an opinion doesn’t need to be based off of facts, it surely helps to know wtf you’re talking about before you formulate one. I highly doubt IMDb watches the first three or four episodes of a new show before giving their final thoughts or rating. Btw there aren’t that many reviews here for the word “most” to even matter. It’s called character development

Considering the vibes the author was giving to his characters earlier in the story and the fact that this is based on MT AND the description of the novel, I wasn’t even that surprised, I mean, did you see what he did to the bully lmao

Nay sir good character development is not about a character you care about like the mcs parents

You kill off the side characters that you only have a little feelings for that’s good character development Like that trio of kids that died that the mc only knew for 3 chapters

It helped further in the story where he *spoiler* tried to heal a guys daughter but wasn’t able to succeed. The priest helped him learn that death is natural and it helped him through all three of those incidents (including the death of his parent) if you don’t see character development I’d call you blind

Also, I’d say that any good story should have tragedy and heartbreak, there are many tc shows and stories that kill off their characters for the plot. Of course if you only want op never struggling born with a silver spoon I guess this novel might not be for you
