I have no idea how there are so many good reviews. The English is horrendous, and despite receiving numerous offers for editing it doesn't improve at all, the plot is incredibly cliche and predictable, the MC is completely flat and boring. All in all there's really nothing I can find likeable about the story, I guess the biggest reason it's popular is because it was one of the earlier and longer stories on Webnovel. I can't really think of much else.

Dude, i don't think you are a fan of pokemon at all. Watch the movies etc. It is the same, that is the way it is supposed to. And about the english, i don't think it is bad at all. FYI grammar nazi's are not wanted in a fanfic. The authors just doing it for fun they don't do this full time. Don't read fanfics if you are looking for a novel with perfect grammar. Read the classics it might work out for you. Peace✌✌

Exactly, you have to force yourself to read the beginning chapters. The plot is just a mash of the game and anime, and the protagonist is just dull and boring.
Yes, and the MC can prevent many of the "disasters" that occur in the plot but no, he prefers to spend time having *** with his women or challenging the league and then when everything is in chaos he intervenes. And his "no kill" philosophy is nonsense, he just lets things happen over and over again.

Na, it stays the same. Check my reading list (the one with fanfics). It has some good Pokemon fanfics.
1. That doesn't mean that no one can point that the grammer is bad. 2. Original Pokemon anime sucks. And it sucks bad. Doing something similar will suck too (like this fanfic, though it's better than the Pokemon anime at least). Anyways, there's a heck lot u can do with the pokémon world to build a great fanfic. Try reading the pokémon manga, it's much much better than the shit anime with follows Ash.
Ehhh the grammer def improves to being readable. The story is indeed about the same, nothing too amazing but still a nice side read. All the god stuff and harem bs definitely fucks it over big time though

The best Pokemon fanfic, by far, is Borne of Caution. The grammar is spotless, the characters are likeable, the pokemon have personality. It is absolutely insanely well written and beyond 99.999999% of all stories here on Webnovel. It is an actual novel you can recommend to other people without looking like a complete loon. Fair warning, the author is on hiatus until july. You can find it on Royalroad or just google the title. Peace.
its named criticism.......it doesnt matter if author dies it for fun or not, one can always criticize smth, bc it 1st helps new readers in the decision to read or not to read a novel and 2nfd it helps the author to find what he could improve (regardless of if he wants to or not)

look up fanfiction.com app on the Google Play store. Pokemon FanFiction on FF is a million times better than this. the grammar is generally better and actually readable. this website is one of the worst fanfiction sites on the internet. namely because most of the stories here are unreadable and the plots are terrible. and everything seems to gets five star reviews regardless of how bad it is. amongst the slew of other things.
This is where you and I disagree, fanfiction.com is a garbage website where it’s impossible to find the good fanfics in all the garbage or unfinished stuff which generally amounts to atleast 98% of that website
I've read born of caution for a little while I thought it was honestly a terribly mediocre Pokemon fanfic that I couldn't stand reading. I'd recommend checking out (Pokemon I can level up to) or (Pokemon Jordinio Version!) I can't remember who the first one was written by but the second one was written by : 0 Jordinio 0 either one of those story's is better than that Born of caution fanfic. and there's also (Jon Snow you know nothing) which is also better Pokemon fic than born of caution. I can't remember most of the author's names though or names of the story but I probably have another 25 or 50 story's I know are better than (Born of caution).
