Transmigrating to MHA World After Eating A Devil Fruit

Miyata is finally dead and just as he had read in those novels he had been given an opportunity to transmigrate in an anime world. A pity though, since he can't choose which world he could be sent to but judging from the gift they gave him it most likely gonna be the world of One Piece...right? Chapter 9

After coming out of the washroom Rita drank the tea prepared for her by her son while talking to him about how his day went. Miyata told her about all that was taught in the class today and also about his accidental meeting with Shinso and how they became friends. Rita just smiled as she heard Miyata telling her about all this. She couldn't remember when was the last time she had such a chat with her son that it almost felt like it was a dream.

Feeling the positive change in her son's attitude towards life she was of course pleased but couldn't help but worry about him as every mother would regarding his future. It was true that in today's world, it was very difficult to make live a life as a quirkless person. She herself was one so she knew how people treated them in the adult world. This was taking in the fact that there were still plenty of quirkless people in her generation.

Unfortunately for Miyata, the number of people who were quirkless in his generation is even less so the amount of discrimination and blatant bullying he's going to face is gonna be much worse than what she had faced. Just thinking about it made her heart tighten. She soon busied herself with making dinner to distract herself from thinking over this.

Miyata wasn't aware of what was going on in his mother's mind as he was telling her about all the interesting things that happened today at school. After she left to make dinner Miyata decided to watch some television till the time the dinner was prepared as if he tried helping his mother he worried that he would end up increasing her work rather than reducing it because of his lack of knowledge in the field of cooking.

Soon the scent of his mother's delicious food entered spread all around the house thereby entering Miyata's nostrils. Needless to say, he swiftly got up from his seat and headed to the kitchen just like any hungry person would do. "Just in time Miyata, help me put these on the table." Miyata's mother said as she passed him a big bowl which contained mouth-watering Chicken Curry.

Miyata did what he was told to as his mother brought another few side dishes to the table and soon both of them began eating. Miyata's appetite was already whetted thanks to the fragrant smell of the chicken and he devoured his food with great vigour "Eat slowly Miyata or the food might get stuck in your throat.." Rita said in a concerned manner.

Seeing her concerned look Miyata could only apologize to her as he said"It's just that the food is so delicious that I couldn't help myself." Hearing her son's words along with his happy face Rita was of course happy but she couldn't help but suddenly think about the thought that she had earlier regarding him.

Miyata didn't notice the change in his mother's eyes as he continued, "Oh, I also wanted to tell you, something mom." Miyata said as he gulped down his food.

"What is it?" Rita asked as she put her previous thoughts at the back of her mind.

"The thing is..." Miyata said as he pointed at his glass of water. Rita's eyes shifted towards the direction Miyata was pointing towards and she saw the glass of water slowly lifting up in the air.

"I awakened my quirk." Miyata's next words which she was not at all expecting entered her ears. As her mind slowly processed what Miyata's words meant tears slowly started brimming with tears. She slowly shifted her gaze back to her son who had a smiling expression. She immediately got up from her seat and went to give him a tight hug.

Miyata was not expecting his mother to react in such a manner and was surprised by her sudden warmth-filled hug but needless to say he welcomed it. Rita tightened her grip on her son as her worried heart finally got relieved. Her son now had a quirk. He would be able to live like a normal person and might even get to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a hero. She didn't care about whether he become one or not she was just happy enough to know that he won't be having to live like a quirkless person for the rest of his life like her.

She was aware of how people looked down on her for being quirkless, she was luckily able to get a job at the bank thanks to her connection at the AWHF but it would have been even more difficult for her to get a job without it.

That's how the life of quirkless people was. She could bear it as she had long gotten accustomed to it but the thought of her son having to live the same life...maybe worse than what she had lived made slowly ate down her heart every single day till now. She once again gave him a tight squeeze as all her worries slowly went away as if they were never there being replaced by happiness.

Miyata didn't know what was on his mother's mind but if he did then without a doubt he would be emotional at the moment. After a while Rita soon gathered herself together and asked Miyata about his quirk and when was it that he came to know about it. Miyata slowly explained to her about his quirk as they ate the dinner side by side.

Miyata gave a simple explanation about his quirk by saying that he had the ability to manipulate the gravity of things within a certain range. As to what the range was? He didn't tell her that nor did he know. He only know that the range was very large since even an asteroid can be called upon from this power.

Rita was even more relieved to know that her son had such a quirk. She didn't know whether it was powerful or not but she knew that it would be very useful in some cases which meant that his son would be needed by people. If you're needed for your quirk then you'll automatically be respected by others in today's society as a result people would treat you better.
