The Villain’s Repentance

Lara was at rock bottom, feeling like a puppet whose strings had been cut. When she stumbled upon her husband and best friend in a compromising embrace, everything fell into place. The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 41 - You can talk to us

Ed looked at the phone as it rang for a few seconds, he paced around the office now having the phone on one ear, he knew the police were going to be at his office soon so he needed his backer to show up.

"Speak," an arrogant voice said from the other end.

"I need your help" he replied in a subservient tone.

"Stupid, I just asked you to do one thing but you failed" the voice snapped.

"I am sorry, it was a miscalculation on my side"

"Make sure nothing connects you with me, and allow the police to arrest you, I'll sort it out" the person ordered, sounding very angry.

"Yes sir, thank you" he replied in appreciation.

"This is your last chance, complete the mission or you know how you'll end up" the person threatened and cut off the call.

Ed breathed out a sigh of relief, he removed the sim and broke it into several pieces and threw it out the window before going out and throwing the phone into the bin in the lounge room.
