The heartbreak stung, but it also ignited a fierce determination within her. Instead of wallowing in despair, fate intervened, giving her a second chance at life—waking her up ten years earlier, just before the chaos began. Armed with wisdom, she promised herself not to repeat the same mistakes. As she stood at the top of the stairs, her gaze fell on Lucas, her once-beloved fiancée. Regret washed over her; she couldn't believe she had almost let him slip away. This time, things would be different.

Chapter 42 - Water Slides

Whilst the media was still in a frenzy about Ed and Amira being arrested, the Brown family took off to the Maldives going to the first family vacation in years.

They touched down on a private Island late in the evening and they had dinner and went to sleep, deciding to start their exploration the next day.

Being on vacation they unilaterally slept in, at around 11am Carlos and Kiera walked out of their room and met Lara and Evelyn already having breakfast.

"Happy Morning" Lara chipped, sipping her tea.

" Happy Morning" Kiera replied and Carlos pressed a soft kiss on his daughters foreheads.

"What are we doing today?" He asked, putting sugar in a cup.

Evelyn quickly swallowed the bread in his mouth and excitedly suggested:"There's a water pack, some distance away, should we try it out?"

" I am not going on any slides" Carlos immediately stated.
