Chapter 5: Academy pt. 2

A week passed after receiving the news of his parents' death. During the week Shin showed even more of his skill to skip even more grades. This caused him to be placed in the graduating year. He was younger than everyone in the class, which caused even more of a divide between him and the other students. There was only one person he recognized. That person was Fugaku Uchiha. Nawaki hadn't left the compound since receiving the news of his parents. Shin would usually head to the forest to train to avoid going home. Instead Shin devoted himself to training.

The funeral came for Shin's parents. All the clan heads for the various clans appeared with the clan heirs. The Hokage with the council of elders appeared also. When Shin saw Danzo, he leaked a bit of killing intent. This did not go unnoticed by the Hokage nor Danzo. The Hokage simply thought this was misplaced anger out of grief. However, Danzo grew suspicious. Danzo wondered why Shin had such anger towards him. This action caused Shin to be placed on Danzo's kill list.

The funeral proceeded with various people laying white flowers in front of the two portraits of the two Senju shinobi. Mito, Tsunade, and Nawaki were both shedding tears. The entirety of the Senju clan had heavy hearts that day. Shin was the only one amongst the children to not shed a tear. He swore to himself that he would save everyone.

Timeskip: end of the year

During the year Shin pushed himself constantly. He would work on his taijutsu, ninjutsu, and study fuinjutsu. He further developed his fire, wind, and water jutsus. Shin could now run up waterfalls. During this time he also went through the Senju clan archives to study more about various things. When he did he saw that all the research papers that Tobirama Senju left behind. From these papers, he learned the shadow clone jutsu, and saw the flying thundergod jutsu.

Shin's chakra levels were at mid chunin level. While his chakra control was already at the low jonin level. His taijutsu was at peak chunin level. What he needed now was combat experience to further refine his skills.

Shins plans were to learn yang, and lightning release after he perfected water release. All that held him back now was the lack of combat experience.

His relationship with Nawaki deteriorated due to the fact he was rarely home after the death of there parents. Tsunade also started to focus more on training leaving Nawaki alone with Mito. The once bright home faced dark times.

The academic year was coming to a close. The graduation exam was here. The first task was a written exam. To Shin these questions were easy, earning him a perfect score. The second task was to run through an obstacle course while the instructors would throw blunted shuriken and kunai. Shin set a new school record of 24 seconds. He went so fast that the instructors didn't even have a chance to even throw their weapons. The third task was a ninjutsu test. The test was to create a clone. Shin created a shadow clone earning him extra credit on the test. Once all the tests were finished, the scores were given out. Shin earned the top score. After the test scores were published, the instructors gave the graduating students their headbands.

Once he received the headbands several notifications went off.

Shin looked at the rewards he gained in shock.

'Jarvis, what are the parameters for the hidden quest?' asked Shin

'The parameters for giving out hidden quests are based on bonus accomplishments attached to the main quest given, sir.' said Jarvis

Shin stood up and walked outside. When he came out of the academy he saw Mito, Tsunade, and Nawaki. They were all standing in front of the gates with a smile on there faces.

"So your a shinobi now huh," said Tsunade

"Don't think because you graduated early, you'll become Hokage," said Nawaki

"I'm proud of you, Shin," said Mito

Shin felt a warm sensation flow through his body. His determination to protecting his new family grew stronger at that moment.

"I'm a shinobi now," said Shin while pulling out his headband.

Shin put the headband onto his forehead and tied it. They all walked back home in a happy mood. When they returned Mito started to cook some food. In a long time, the Senju home grew bright again.

Later that night once everyone fell asleep, Shin opened his inventory. He clicked on Whitebeard Card. Once he did he felt a rush of power flowing through him. He could recall certain battle experiences, and the knowledge gained through the years from the life whitebeard lived. Then the pain came. At first, it was a mild tingling, then it quickly felt like his body was being ripped apart. While Shin faced the pain of his very being ripped apart no one his home knew any wiser.

Daybreak soon came. Shin woke up from the floor he passed out on. He quickly examined his body and he felt a different power coursing threw his very being. Shin looked into himself and felt the knowledge rushing to him. He suddenly felt a wave of power different from chakra flow through him. He could feel his surrounding.

'Observation haki will be useful. If I'm able to further develop it, it would push my combat prowess even further,' thought Shin.

'Jarvis, do I have the weakness of the devil fruit now?' asked Shim

'No, sir. When gaining skills from character cards their flaws are removed. However if one consumes a devil fruit than the weakness would be gained,' said Jarvis

Once Shin was done examining his new skills, he moved onto the exp candy.

He quickly consumed and selected fire bending. He felt his control and power of fire bending grew to another level.

Shin felt another wave of power flow through him. For a moment, he was confused for a moment. So he asked Jarvis.

'Jarvis, could explain the growth of fire bending?' asked Shin

'Not only did your control of the element grow, but also your power output of the skill,' said Jarvis

'What's the difference?' asked Shin

'You are near grandmaster level, sir.' said Jarvis

Shin started to appreciate the system more as it allowed him to get stronger much faster.

Shin rolled the Gacha 1x again.

[Spirit tempering pills]

'The spirit pills, have the same limits as the body pills. However, instead of tempering the body, it would temper the spirit. Certain examples would be growing resistance against spirit attacks. Or in your case sir, genjutsu.' said Jarvis.

Shin quickly popped one into his mouth and swallowed it. He felt his chakra reserves grow a substantial amount. He knew he would have to refine his chakra control even further. Shin closed his inventory and went to sleep.
