Chapter 18

Savial's smile only widened when he realized that the human didn't know how to respond to the information that she was given. Male harpies were rare after all, it probably came as a shock to her.

"I do work as an air lead as well." he added as he took of his hat, shaking his head so that his black hair could be free from the stuffy state it had been pushed into by the hat he was wearing.

"And you work for humans even though you're a harpie?" Heather asked confused. Harpies had an bad reputation among humans for being tricksters and using hypnotic techniques to fool humans into coming with them so that they could eat them.

"I work with humans, not for them which is a huge difference." The harpie clarified.

"A new program in the works that you probably haven't heard of yet. Considering what good level of control we have over the wind and sense of direction- we make great fight guides granted that humans listen and trust us." Savial explained as he put his hat back on.

"Trust is a big issue there especially when it comes to you." Eirwin commented as he signed off on the paperwork that Heather had filled out.

"That's completely untrue." The harpie shot back, a wounded tone to his voice as he justified his actions.

"It was one person and a terrible one at that who deserved to be eaten. I don't regret my actions and would do it again if the same situation came up in the future."

"How do they tell if they can trust though then?" Heather asked after quietly listening to the whole conversation. Savial held up his wrist to show her the watch that was on it.

"Tracking device I'm required to wear while at work. Informs them of where I'm at at all times and also to make sure I don't lead the plane off course. That has happened because of others before." He elaborated.

"Are you going to keep talking about everything else or give me the information that you told me you had?" The dragon asked, interjecting himself into the conversation as he began to get impatient while waiting to hear what the other had found out for him.

"If I tell you, are you going to agree to follow through with your part so I can get my freedom back?" Savial asked in return as his attention shifted to the dragon and he took on a more serious look.

"Of course I will. I already promised that I would take care of it the next time you brought me information." Eirwin replied with a slight roll of his eyes as the other smirked at this news.

"Then I'll be happy to tell you what I know. Word around is that MP has a new place that he likes to hang around. I didn't quite hear the location but it seems he goes back there ever so often when he's not traveling." Savial informed his friend who brightened up when he heard this news.

"I can tell you who to contact if you want exact information on him, but it'll cost you something extra that I wouldn't charge." the harpie added on.

"MP, the one you told me you have been looking for who can cast the spell that we need?" Heather clarified, wanting to make sure that they were talking about the same person since this was quite decent good news they were hearing.

"Exactly who. I guess you already informed her of stuff even though I think she looks fairly new? At least I don't think I remember seeing her around before." Savial commented as he looked over Eirwin.

"How long she has been my assistant is irrelevant to this conversation. What is important is whether or not that information is legitimate." The dragon replied as he sent a message on his phone.

"I kept my part of the deal on this so it better not end up leading to another dead end and wasted money." He remarked as he gave the harpie a hard look who held up his hands in defense.

"I'm just relaying to you what I was told. Where it is legit or not would require you to do a bit of digging and contact this person." He told the other as he handed him a piece of paper that had an address on it.

"I heard that he's gone for this week but will be back next one and is the most reliable to know facts from fiction." Eirwin looked at the piece of paper and a frown appeared on his face when he saw the address, there was only one group of creatures he knew who occupied the area that his friend was sending him to.

"You honestly can't tell me you're expecting me to go and visit this area?" He had a grimace on his face as he asked the other this question.

"If you want the information you'll have to or perhaps send your charming assistant to do it for you since she seems fairly harmless," Savial suggested.

"Though I doubt that they'll be as bad as they used to be. Things have changed over the decades and they're not quite as large or fierce as they used to be." The dragon didn't seem convinced about this.

"What are you talking about?" Heather asked confused about with Eirwin seemed so discontent about after lookin at whatever was written on the paper.

"beithirs." was all Savial said but it was enough for her to understand the problem- beithirs and dragons had been enemies for many centuries. While they weren't quite as powerful as dragons were- it didn't stop them from trying to fight them or kick them out of their territory as they don't appreciate sharing land with them no matter how far apart they lived.

"They're still problematic and don't have any more patience than I had i the past nor am I exactly well equipped to fight against them should things not turn out well." Eirwin told the other as he looked down at the piece of paper again. Would it really be his only option to find out information about MP? It would make sense that he would be seen in such a place if he was aware the dragon was searching for him, he wouldn't be likely to invade that area. He would have to think of something though because he couldn't just disregard this tip.
