Chapter 19

"I have to think about leaving now before the next flight takes off and I get left behind and end up in trouble. I might recommend before I leave however that you think about taking some type of piece offering with you." Savial told his friend as he came over to offer him a pat on the shoulder but nothing else as he got ready to leave.

"It was also a pleasure to meet you today as well and I hope that I get the opportunity to do so again in the future." He told Heather, offering her a charming smile before he turned to leave the office. He really would end up being late if he allowed himself to get distracted any further.

"He's certainly an interesting friend to have." She remarked after the harpie had left the office. Eirwin was distracted looking at the piece of paper again so he didn't reply right away.

"He's decent enough but can also tend to bring a certain amount of trouble with him no matter where he goes." The dragon told her before setting the piece of paper down. He would have to think about what he wanted to do with that. He hadn't made time in his schedule that week that would fit enough space for him to try not to get killed while getting potential useless information.

"Right now we need to get back to focusing on business at hand since this is your first day." Eirwin told her as he shifted his mind back to what he had to take care of in front him. Savial's visit had cut into a large chunk of time he had set aside so that he could go over a number of things with. He would have to make it more brief for the time being.

"For the time being I expect that you will split up your time between doing tasks around the office here as I need them and doing research on how to collect what you need to get the time key to activate." He explained as he opened one of his draws and pulled out a tablet. It appeared to be one of the new ones too.

"This is so that you can keep track of my calendar and determine for yourself when and how best to split up the time throughout the week. If I need specific time set aside, I will request of it." He continued as he put the tablet down on the desk and slid it over to the side of the desk that she was sitting at.

"I already have something like this at home though." Heather tried to protest until she saw the disapproving look that the dragon was giving her.

"I am certain that you do miss Jennings. However, this one is far more convenient to use as it is already synced with the calendar that I will be following each week and the one that you will be need to keep updated." He told her. She frowned but didn't protest as she picked it up so that she could open it and see what was already on it.

Even if it was supposed to be because it was more convenient because of the dragon already having customized it, she still preferred the personal one she had. It was already customized to her liking and she was very familiar with how to use it and make it work easily.

"What is all these different things on here?" She asked when she saw a number of different folders and icons with names she wasn't familiar with.

"They're short hand sorted." Eirwin replied as he scanned over some documents in front of him. He only had about thirty minutes before his next client would be wanting to visit with him and he needed to make sure that he memorized everything he needed to prior to their meeting.

"Others are websites or sources that I follow that hold relevant information related to what I have been researching and trying to sort through. I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up quickly. To help I added a folder that should cover everything you need to know that is on there as well as explain the short-hand that I use." He didn't bother looking up from what he was doing as Heather tried to navigate what he was telling her.

It seemed to her like there was a lot quick turn around on what she was going to be expected to learn and figure out from the dragon who seemed to preoccupied with what he was doing to offer assistance. She made a small noise of annoyance under her breath as she worked on trying to figure out how best to navigate the tablet and where she should start first.

"If you're good at taking notes I will ask you to stay here with for the upcoming meeting." Eirwin said, breaking the silence that had fallen over the nice as Heather busied herself with reading everything that he had loaded on to the tablet while he organized what he needed to know about the client he would visiting.

"Meeting for what exactly?" She asked, still half-distracted with what she was doing."

"A meeting with a client. A difficult person that I am trying to work on getting a deal with. It is hard to listen while taking notes so it would be helpful if I had someone who could split the work up with me and take notes on the important things."

"If this is tech related stuff, I don't think that I will be able to help you much there." She replied doubtfully. She didn't mind taking notes if that was what the other needed, but she wasn't that great when it came to anything advanced with technology or computer science.

"You don't really need to know anything. Just write things down when I indicate to you as such." He replied as demonstrated the the motion with his finger that he intended to use when he wanted her to write something down.

Heather didn't have much of a choice but to comply and do her best because before she could say anything else the secretary reported to Eirwin that his client was there and ready to see him.
