New Memories

A city came into view as Yanyan talked with Levia about a whole bunch of things. It was another opportunity to learn more stuff and she wasn't going to pass it up. With Levia's open attitude it was easy to ask whatever she wanted without much trouble in return. She didn't really want to talk to the other people around, especially the other mercenaries that Levia pointed out to her. She never said anything about it however they all smelt like blood. It stung her nose and constantly bugged her. "It's different blood too." Which meant that this was the stench of other people's deaths on their clothing. Yanyan was able to connect the dots when she thought about it and figured that was why Levia never said anything.

Even though she never said anything it still affected her quite strongly.

"They've killed people as well...so many smell like blood. Especially that one man who talked to me earlier."

She had felt a pair of eyes on her this whole time that had never left. "It's him." She knew it was that man who had come to talk to Levia. She just didn't know why he was paying her so much attention. SHe just tried her best to ignore all that as she talked with Levia. She had learned a bit about where they were along with what City they were headed to. "Apparently we're in Tidal." There was a City nearby that had been requesting some help recently that Levia was going to. "Alan City." This place was getting quite dangerous lately so mercenaries were being hired in large groups from anywhere. If you had the means to get past borders or fight then a big pay was waiting for you.

"A war...Two masses of people fighting. I wonder if Levia will also participate in that."

Yanyan didn't like the idea of that at all so she planned to stay as far away from that as possible. Fighting wasn't something she enjoyed, it was something that she did to survive. "I need money though and information." If she wanted to find Xilo one day those two things were pretty important from what Levia said. She had asked Levia how to find a missing person in passing and that's the reply she was given. "Also time." Levia probably assumed she was holding out hope that her parents were still alive and that she could find them again. "She gave me a bit to start me off." Tucking away a little sack full of money Yanyan made sure no one else saw it.

"I can't stay with her forever, I know that."

Just like Relia she would have to leave her as well even though she didn't want to. Within a few hours she would be off on her own again, fending for herself. "What kind of job could I do?" With her appearance and knowledge there wasn't much she could do. Levia still did her best to suggest a few things that anyone could do to help out. "All these things are so complicated." It was so drastically different from her life before down in that dark abyss. All she had to do back then was eat everything in front of her. If something refused to go in her stomach then she would just force it.

"Xilo broke that pattern...for better or worse?"

That was something she didn't know yet.

Along with the new memories she was making, things were changing for her. Her world had been turned upside down and now she had to live in other ways. It was far from easy but meeting all these people was something she found fun. "I don't know why I ever thought Levia was Tearia." That comparison still tugged at the back of her mind as she talked with Levia. "They aren't the same person so stop mind!" Pushing these thoughts out of her head she knew that they weren't even her own. The memories she gained were helpful at times and sometimes just hurtful to the point she didn't feel like her own person.

"That's why I didn't want to take any from Relia and yet...here we are."

She wanted to make her memories and connections without them all just being linked to some others she accidently got. "I know how she felt for sure." Those two had it much worse then her, being two different people in one body. "One's gone now though." Levia pushed Yanyan's arm as she tried to break her out of her thoughts. They had finally arrived in front of the City, with a bit more time they would be inside and heading their separate ways. "I hope I can find someone to take her." Paying their way inside their large group was escorted in without any trouble. Yanyan stopped thinking about such hard things as she looked around at the giant buildings on both sides of her.

It was a sight she hadn't seen before.

"Pretty..."

All the people around though caused her to feel anxious as she tried to hide herself. Watching all of Yanyan's reactions Levia laughed as she headed to their stop. Once they arrived at the Clan's main estate Levia jumped off and turned around to grab Yanyan. Setting her on the ground most people had already left their group after paying except a few. One set of eyes still stayed latched onto Yanyan giving her a bad feeling. Sticking close to Levia, Yanyan didn't want to leave her side. Sending off her partners to deal with the job details Levia took Yanyan's hand as she guided her elsewhere. Her group was capable enough to handle themselves while she took care of Yanyan.

"Come with me, let's see if we can find you a place to stay. It might be a bit of trouble but it shouldn't take long. I'm sure someone will be willing."

Watching from a distance a man followed behind as he watched from the shadows.

"Is it really worth following them?"

"Of course, you saw it just like I did before. She grew new parts when taking a bite of that meat. That's not something most demons just do and that makes her valuable.

Enjoy.
