Chapter 32: The Hunt is on!

~Summer POV~

We just got off the elevator from the way up to Beacon Academy to Ozpin Office man I missed this place it used to bring up some good memories when all four of us were in a team together…

Aww… I miss the good old days with Raven, Tai, and Qrow we used to be so well together but ever since the incident a few days ago to know your friend is suddenly gone one day…

That hurts us…

But for now, we have to hold our mourning for our fallen teammate because we have a bigger crisis on our hands even if I don't want to spend time with my two-year-old little rose I must do this for her and my little 5-year-old dragon future!

With all those thoughts in my mind, I look towards Ozpin with a serious expression, "Ok Ozpin we got your call so what's the mission."

I see Ozpin smiles at this well why shouldn't we are the best hunters to graduate from Beacon after all, "Thank you for coming miss rose and Qrow I'm sorry when I called you here during your time of mourning for Raven – "

But I see Qrow just raises his hand at Ozpin signifying him to stop while he says in a defeated tone, "Yeah Oz I get it… I knew something like this would happen someday honestly but, I just didn't expect it to happen this soon… I knew Raven was tough in her prime of her youth still but how can someone like her lose all of a sudden one day?"

Yeah, I know how that feels everyone from team STRQ knows that Raven was the strongest among us physically I just can't see her losing but she was also the wisest of us to know when not to face a strong enemy and know to call it quits.

After we heard from Qrow, Ozpin stops and begins to give us some details about our mission finding the thief, "Very well Qrow… Now for the mission as you already heard from me before the Spring Maiden and the Relic of Wisdom has been stolen yesterday from a clothed individual at Haven Academy I need you to find this person at all cost and if possible can you convince such an individual to our group."

Wait, Wait, Wait What?!!

I was surprised to hear this about recruiting this guy, so I asked Ozpin with clear shock, "Wait a minute Ozpin! You want us to find this person who stole the maiden and the relic but also want us to recruit him why?!!"

Then I and Qrow heard the Ozpin reason as well as show us the recorded video of the events that happened yesterday, "Well finding them is going to be hard part of all of this Summer and Qrow but while I was looking closely at the video I noticed that there was two hints that could help us determined this person is with Salem or a unexpected third party involve in this. As for the reason I ask you to recruit him well just look at the video."

When we saw the video in front of us, I have to say his semblance is unique to be able to teleport away from a vault while security is after him is either the most bravest or foolish things this person has done but he does look a bit small though?

That was when we were brought our attention to Ozpin again telling us, "As you can see the reason, I want for you two recruit this person or…"

That was when he dropped the bomb on us that made me and Qrow look shocked that this person is actually a, "… rather child is because of his Semblance would make him the perfect undercover agent for us and from the actions he has done to this point it stands to reason he or she already knows the 'truth' about Salem or us."

Then I listen in to Qrow clearly confused about our target being a child and I agree with him, "Wait a minute Oz, you mean to tell us that the security at Haven Academy couldn't stop a literal kid from storming in and stealing the maiden but the relic as well!"

I see he nodded his head but I couldn't tell how this person is a kid so I asked Ozpin how he came to this conclusion, "Sorry sir but I find that hard to believe that a literal kid came to this place and knew what he stole but how can you confirm that it was kid that did this sir?"

Then I hear my answer to Ozpin while we were a bit shocked he would go to this length, "Apparently Lionheart took my words to heart to search the place around the vault thoroughly only to find a single strand of white hair and took it for DNA testing and sent the results to Ironwood to help get a clear answer."

Wow I guess Ozpin and the other headmasters are putting all the stops just to find this kid damn now I feel bad for the kid, "And to my surprise when I found out about this morning that it belongs to a Faunus child of 10 years of age to be specific belonging to a Noble Family of the Shiroi clan for their Hereditary Semblance 'Eyes of the Lord' in Mistral similar to the Schnee's in Atlas."

Ok so what is the problem here exactly it sounds easy to find this person… why do I get a bad feeling this is not going to be that easy…

When I felt that it was going to be that easy of course fate would be cruel at this moment when Ozpin frowns at the response, "However, when Lionheart and the authorities questioned them about their supposed Faunus child they denied any claims of having animals as their children but the moment that the test came up was revealed they immediately started to talking about their…"

Ozpin coughs at the report he was given from Lionheart and just summarized the report, "Well let's just say that family was a supporter of the old ways before the Great War, and they revealed that they got rid of him in an orphanage in the snow area of Mistral but when Lionheart and the other Huntsmen arrived at the area…"

But we Ozpin frowns at the report he got from Lionheart as well as sadden at the news, "But when he, the authorities, and the family saw the orphanage were in ruins as well as the corpses of children were there all around the area as well as some sighting of Grimm in the area we can concluded that there were no survivors other than two missing from the reports."

This kid has gone through so much… to lose his friends and care takers to the Grimm and following someone else plan I don't know how this kid can live through this!

But when Ozpin says two people were missing, I asked him in a sad tone, "Wait… you said two kids are gone right? Then the culprit is one of them but who was the other?"

This where I see Ozpin is confuse as well on the subject as well as me and Qrow got confused on this mystery as well, "Well now that is the interesting part when the authorities were checking the total head count of corpses they found 28 dead but out from some of the documents there are two kids missing from the clear total of 30 kids but there was no way to identify them only by name."

Then Qrow says to the Headmaster with clear confusion in his voice, "So then Oz do we know the person and the other one name maybe they can give us a clue on where they are at?"

Ozpin begins to tell us the names of the two people while still expressing a frown, "Originally the culprit name from his parents was supposed to be named Adam Shiori, but when they found out he was a Faunus they changed his name legally to Kuro White in order to get rid any indication he was born from them and the other is just a name of Cinder Fall."

When I heard that they were trying to get rid of their son I couldn't help but grit my teeth in anger, but I did ask Ozpin, "Ozpin sir, why did they abandoned their son to an orphanage instead of taking care of him?"

Ozpin sighs at my question but does give me his answer, "Sigh… well the reason miss Rose is that for some time now the Shiroi family are having difficulty getting a member of their family to awaken their hereditary Semblance Eyes of the Lord."

With that he looks out into the window as if he was looking for something that was lost, "Some time now they were now losing their family blood line trying to make sure it was for humans only and busy training their other kids instead of busy taking care of a new one so instead they sent him away."

I expressed my frown on these people who would get rid of their son a family is supposed to protect one another and take care of each other not throw them away these people are just despicable.

But before I could think of anything else Ozpin hands over to us an object that is in the shape of some kind of ancient compass and some Bullhead pass ports to Anima continent, "Uh… Ozpin sir what exactly is this compass for?"

Then I see the Ozpin hardens his face while talking to us but smirks at the end, "As things stands Summer, we need to find this Kuro White as soon as possible and that Maiden locater will help you find the Spring Maiden and the others how else would I have found the other maidens as well as you Summer you didn't expect me to sit around and not search for them now would you?"

Actually, kind of since we all ever see you only drink your mug of hot cocoa all the time and Glynda yelling at you to get your paperwork done?

With that I grabbed the compass and it showed me the direction of where I'm at and the others I smiled at this and put it in my pocket, "Don't worry Ozpin we won't fail our mission we will bring the Maiden, Relic, and this kid back to us in no time flat!

Then I hear Qrow say to Ozpin with the same enthusiasm or less than me, "Hehe… alright then Oz will get this mission done and get your stuff back time to go Summer."

I nodded my head towards to Qrow don't worry Kuro will make sure you are kept safe from anyone and especially Salem it's not like she knows who you look like right?

With that me and Qrow began our search for the Maiden to which in turns find the kid but still there is one thing troubling me how did he know where the Spring Maiden was and the secret to know the vault?

Hmm… those questions won't be answered here I guess I'll just ask this Kuro kid how he knew the secret after all there isn't that many people who know our existence.

~Salem POV~

Oh! Looks like the report from Lionheart says the person were looking for is called Kuro White but his real name is Adam Shiori.

This is the perfect opportunity for me to convince the young Faunus child to my side.

I can use the history of his family is certainly useable for me to sway the young child heart to my side wanting vengeance for the injustice he was inflicted upon… yes this is perfect.

With that I turn my attention away from the Seer and say to myself with a smirk, "This is going to be most fruitful pawn I will ever get and the easiest since he is a literal child I can convince I do have experience training Faunus to my side."

But still I am curious on how a child knew of my secret fight with the headmasters and the kingdoms truly interesting on how he knew about it?

Well with Silver Fang Semblance Locate she just needs the original name to find the person she is searching for while the person is unaware that they are being followed though I wonder where this Adam or Kuro is now?

With that I went ahead to notify Hazel and Silver on their objective as well as lend them a Seer so that they can contact with me.
