Volume - 2 Who am I

AN: The first volume is finally over, and from this chapter onwards the second volume will start.

First of all don't expect too much action in this volume. As this volume will be short and completely focused on the character development and self exploration. This is also the volume where Maki will get her imortality.

I won't spoil your more than that.

Taking a little rest

I hadn't lived a long life in my past world. But despite the struggles and the success it was a full feeling one. Compared to that in this life I have gained mostly pain so far.

I knew that most of them were my own decisions. But I couldn't help but question myself 'Why ?'

It was strange.

Why did I want to become a 'Sigma' in the first place.

Just to be cool ?

Now that wasn't my reason.

But maybe it was ?

It was so confusing that my head hurts.

I have never says this kind of situation in my life before.

For a moment I was so confused that I didn't realise to where I was rowing my boat to. I didn't realise when the injured girl woke up and started to shiver in fear besides me.

I finally broke out of my thought when I saw the shadow of an island. Ahead of me.

"Oh, you are awake ?" I turned to ask the girl who has woken up.

"Wh-what happened ? Where am I ? Wh-what.....?"

Maybe the girl suddenly remembered everything between her confusion and suddenly broke into tears. I doubt she can see anything in the dark. To prove my theory correct, the girl asked me the next moment.

"I died ? What is this voice ? Who are you ?"

The girl said between her sobbings.

"You can't probably see here. But you are not dead. You are in my personal dimension. Leave it you won't understand... But I will get you back to the real world very soon.

As per who am I, I am the monster who fought and killed all those Gods, who were about to kill you people." I introduced myself. I didn't have the heart left to introduce myself as a human anymore.

"No you are not...." The girl mumbled.

"What ?" I was surprised to hear that.

"Everyone else is dead. Aren't they ?

Then why did you save me ?" The girl spoke

emotionally.

"Yes it is true that everyone else in the island was dead. When I was escaping, I found you injured on my way. So I took you for emergency food supply." I told her the truth.

"What ?" Now the girl was really frightened.

But I couldn't enjoy her reaction. Maybe my smile has also died.

*Sigh*

As The Island came near, I saw many shadows of the rocks and ships from afar. It was a fairly large Island. But I wanted a secluded place to actually get out from the shadows space.

So I decided to go around the island and order to find a perfect spot.

I didn't know what the island was called, but it was not that big. From the side we approached it, there was a small town along with a port . But the other side of the island was full of Rocky mountains.

It was finally time for me to breath in the free world.

"You pervert !!!" The girl shouted at me as soon as she saw me in the light. My entire body was covered with blood and gore. But still it didn't hide my rather developed body.

"Shut up or I will throw you in the ocean." I was annoyed. True, there were no clothes on my body. It was like this since the last two years. I have stopped caring about it a long time ago.

After reaching in the shore, I brought the raft to the beach and unloaded two of the boxes I had carried from that Island.

"Don't touch these two chests. Especially that one." I warned the girl and went to take a bath in the ocean.

It was the first time I felt the weakness in the water. As if someone has drained all of my energy.

But I took a bath anyway.

It took me quite a while to clean myself completely. Many layers of dried blood had accumulated over my body for quite some time.

It was exhausting but refreshing at the same time.

By the time I came back it was already the time of evening.

Surprisingly the girl was still there.

I didn't speak to her instead went to one of the chests. It was the chest in which I had kept all of the valuable things I had collected.

I took out the relatively fine clothes of civilians that I had collected from their dead bodies. It was a turtle neck, sleeveless, white shirt which was relatively fine despite all the chaos. It was a little dirty but otherwise spotless of any blood stain. Then there is a pair of black pants which was a little torn but relatively fine as well. Finally I took out a pair of shoes a belt and a pair of round glasses.

"Why are you here ?" I asked the sobbing girl who still hasn't left yet.

"I have no I have to go... And I am hungry." The girl answered.

I sighed.

'Well there isn't enough meet for me anyway.'

I took off my clothes again. And then transformed into my shadow cat form full stop after that I jump to the relatively Dark shadow of the rocky mountain.

I was going to try out a new idea that might get me wet. I would rather not do that to my clothes.

...

Under the shadow of the full moon a large fish and a few piece of meat was being cooked in the bonfire.

The atmosphere looked serene. If someone doesn't know that the meat, except for the fish, that was being cooked, was human flesh, then the atmosphere was really serene.

After thinking for a long while, I got up from the beach. Dusting off the sand from my clothes I took out the human meat that was well cooked.

Looking it forever I threw it in the ocean.

'The fish will be enough for both of us.'

I laid back on the beach and bread both of my arms and legs like an eagle. Staring at the sky, watching the moon and stars, I relaxed my body.

Maybe, just maybe, it is good to take a little rest in every once in a while.
