Chapter 138
"BOOOOOOM!"
Everyone looked on with shock as something massive suddenly landed in between them.
"Wororororororo! This looks really fun!"
The one who appeared was strong enough to make everyone on the battlefield take a step back. The face of the one that just landed started turning into what looked like a dragon. It looked at the bay with a smile. Ken was immediately alarmed.
"ROBERT! GET OUT OF HERE THIS INSTANT!" screamed Ken
He screamed hard enough that even the marines that were already far away could hear it clearly. A shadow portal immediately appeared under the three ships and made them disappear. The next second, the dragon face guy shot something out of his mouth, and the moment that it hit the bay, a massive explosion happened, and all the water got evaporated. All that was left was a gigantic hole that was being filled up by the ocean water.
"Tsk, I was looking forward to killing them."
He transformed back to his regular face when two flashes suddenly came from the sky. The next second, two feet hit the person's face. But he didn't budge even an inch.
"Huh? What are you brats doing?"
The two that kicked him immediately disappeared and appeared in front of Ken.
"Tsk, that Kaido guy is stronger than I thought." said Ace
"Yeah, but we'll get him next time." said Sabo
They looked like they were about to go for a second attack before they both got smacked on the back of their heads. They turned around and were about to scream at Ken. But when they saw his serious face, they immediately stopped.
"I won't get mad at you guys for staying behind with me. It's something I expected after all, but don't get a big head and think that you stand a chance against that guy. Stay back with Kuzan and get ready to retreat at any moment." said Ken
They both wanted to argue, but they knew that what he said was true, so they just nodded. Ken stood in front of them and looked at Kaido.
"Were you targeting my ships because you have something against me or because you wanted to have fun?"
"Both." said Kaido
"I see. I never thought that I would be seeing you so soon. But you wouldn't have come here for me since there was no way for you to find out about me coming here in time. So how about you let us go and kill the marines? I already killed their leader, but you still have the Marine Hero and five Admirals.
"I'm not interested in them right now. I'll take care of them after I kill you, but if you wish to live, you can still join me."
Everyone on the battlefield became worried, except for Ken and Garp. If the Azure Pirates joined Kaido, that would mean that the marines are done for, but if Ken refuses, he will have to fight against a Yonko. But Garp knew that Ken wouldn't submit to anyone, and Ken isn't afraid of Kaido.
Before Ken could reply, a shadow portal suddenly appeared under him and his 3 crewmates. But before he managed to escape, he got hit by Kaido's weapon, sending him flying into a wall.
"Cough, cough."
Ken started coughing blood after he got hit by Kaido's Kanabo. But he didn't look all that hurt. He even had a small smile.
[Ken P.O.V.]
'Sigh, Robert sure has good timing. It's too bad that he got me before I made it out, but at least the other three got out. Now I can fight without needing to keep my eye on everyone. Because I was so focused on the rest, I couldn't fight seriously. I'll just need to take care of one more thing, and then I can fight with 100% of my powers.'
"Robert! Thank you for all your help. Now go back to the rest and go home. Don't worry about me. I can take care of some overgrown lizard any day of the week."
I could sense Robert hesitating, but he finally left, trusting that I'll make it out alive. I looked at Kaido, who came running towards me with anger in his eyes.
'I have a 30 minutes max before they come running back. That should be enough for that idiot to get here before my crew.'
The technique Robert used to transport the 3 ships away from Kaido's attack is different from what he used to get the Revolutionaries and the Strawhats away. The one he used just before the stupidly overpowered attack is an instantaneous transfer technique.
Usually, it would take at least a couple of seconds depending on the size, but this technique doesn't care about size. It just transfers anything in a split second. If it didn't take up almost all his stamina, it would be a fantastic technique. And he can't lessen the consumption since no matter how much he improves, it always empties his stamina. Training only lets him transfer bigger things. But I'm surprised that he could even try and rescue us with almost all his stamina gone. He's probably unconscious right now, which might give me some more time before they arrive here.
'Thank you, Robert, for always having our backs. Now sleep well while I'll take care of this bastard.'
Kaido already arrived in front of me, and I looked at him with cold eyes.
"Pierce."
I stabbed my sword forward towards his side, but he just kept running towards me and destroyed my attack with only his body. I looked on with shock as his weapon that is enveloped in lightning and Haki, is coming towards my face. I managed to put my arms in front of me, but that didn't help at all.
As his weapon collided with my arms, sparks started flying off of us, and the ground under me started being crushed. I tried to hold on, but it was no use as I got sent flying back while feeling like all my insides have been smashed to piece.
'Fuck! He is way stronger than I thought. But it's not like I'm here to defeat him. To reap the maximum benefits, I need to defeat him in his home turf.'
Before I managed to stabilize myself, I smashed into the ocean with my back, which hurt like hell.
'I should hide in here and think of a plan. I would normally retreat since I've already accomplished all I came here for, but he is the kind of guy that would follow me to the ends of the world. He might even go to my kingdom, which I can't let happen even though Whitebeard is there.'
I disappeared from my spot as a massive explosion suddenly appeared there.
'Wait, why is he still targeting me!? And why are those six bastards leaving like it's not their problem!? Two big-shot pirates are on their home turf, one of which already destroyed two of their big basses, and they're just leaving. And Kaido isn't even paying attention to them. This must be those 5 Elders' decision. Akainu would never leave like that. And that Haia woman seems to hate me for some reason, so she probably also wants to stay.'
I kept dodging underwater as explosion after explosion happened.
"COME OUT, YOU BASTARD!"
The explosions stopped, and the sun suddenly disappeared from my view.
'I got him.'

[Am I correct to assume that no one thought that Kaido would arrive on Marineford? And I'll give you guys a 'perfect' explanation for why Shanks isn't here in the next chapter or the one after that.]
