Parents? Who's Parents?

A minute ago---

Yash was still talking to some other guests, when he saw a familiar silhouette-wearing family band talking to his father-in-law, he got a little suspicious.

Excusing himself from the other directors, he went to his father's side. Once he saw Pearl's face, he couldn't help himself with the excitement that suddenly surges inside him. The feeling was strange and unknown to him. However what shocked him was the chances of coincidence.

He couldn't believe that the girl would be a relative of Mr. Mallaya. By all this, he felt like it's all a dream. When he saw her walking away, he hurriedly held her elbow to stop her.

"You? What are you doing here?" Yash asked.

"Sorry?" Pearl irritatingly looked at him. When she tried to free herself, his hold got tighter.

"You forgot me? Yesterday you saved me in front of the escalator." Yadh stated while still holding her elbow tightly.

In a second Pearl started losing her patience. Rolling her tongue with annoyance she was about to push him away forcefully, when another hand overrun her speed.

Emmett was standing beside the dining table and watched Pearl politely asking those nosy people to move when he noticed another man coming towards Pearl speedily.

His eyes narrowed with confusion. But then he remembered him from the mall incident. At first he didn't think much to do until he saw him holding her elbow. His eyes darkened immediately. Wasting not a second he walked towards the group.

Emmett removed Yash's hand from her elbow. "Let's talk without touching each other." Emmett said with a cold smile.

His presence made others shiver with fear. Emmett's identity was not known by many people in the business world. Everyone knows who is the CEO of Morgan's Empire but only few have met him personally.

However, because of the Gala, Raj and Vijay met Emmett a few times. However this is their first time that they are able to talk to him personally and closely. Unfortunately instead of having their first conversation nice it was full of coldness.

"..." There was an awkward silence for a few seconds before Raj laughed lightly and said while nodding his head.

"Yes yes. We are still not that familiar. Amm... Mr. Morgan, I didn't expect to meet you here today. We can't be more glad to see you."

"Do you think that the reason is something to be glad about?" Emmett couldn't help scorn by their behaviour.

Vijay and Raj immediately felt embarrassed. Because of their own personal reasons they totally forgot that they were at a funeral not at a party.

"Sorry we didn't mean it that way."

Sia from the side saw everything. Her blood boiled when she saw that faint smile on Yash's face.

In front of her, Yash rarely ever smiled or said anything this excitedly this way to anyone. Walking forward, she went to Yash's side and hugged his arm. Smiling brightly, she asked.

"Something happened yesterday Yash?"

Yash didn't notice Sia's jealousy. His attention was more on Pearl. With a small nod, he explained. "Yesterday because of my negligence ….." He shortened the whole story as much as he could while telling others. Though he cut off many parts of the story of him being injured, he sincerely tells everyone about how Pearl saved him.

Hearing the whole story, unlike Vijay and Hina who felt little loss with the thought of not having their daughter as a female lead of the story, Raj and Divya felt grateful to the fate of letting someone from Mallaya's relative have something connected to their son. This way they can have some powerful connections too.

Sia's smile got stiff, hearing all the angel acts, that girl portrayed she was annoyed. Holding his arm tightly, she forcefully smiled and said. "I must thank you, miss, for saving my FiAnCe."

The way Sia put pressure on the word, fiance, was quite visible to everyone. Hina and Vijay felt quite embarrassed by the act. Raj and Divya also find Sia a little unreasonable with her act.

Pearl wasn't unknown to the fact that Yash Roy in actuality was betrothed to her. She knew about this since she was young by her grandfather. He reminded her a number of times. Even after she went abroad, Grandfather Sen still reminded her about this couple of times.

But for Pearl all that matters to nothing. She knew about the relationship Yash desired with Sia. Knowing that, she herself preferred to stay away from him. And after half a decade, she found someone for herself too. For her, the betrayal is from both sides. So anger of hearing fiance for Yash matters to nothing.

Giving Sia a polite smile Pearl stepped back away from Yash's reach and mumbled. "Whatever."

Emmett snickered at her reply. Dumb possessive girls are worst in his eyes. Soa just portrayed one of such characters. The scene was very funny for him. Pearl and Emmett were about to go back when Raj spoke again.

Looking at Pearl he curiously asked. "Sorry to ask, but may I know your relationship with Mr. Mallaya?"

He didn't dare to be impolite to a stranger at that place. Especially the one who is wearing a band of family members means a lot there. However curiosity is still there.

"Granddaughter." Emmett replied to their question instead.

Raj instantly frowned. He knows very well that Mr. Mallaya had no child, let alone granddaughter. But Emmett's words can't be challenged. However before he could ask anything, a maid came in between for Pearl.

"Ma'am, Madam came back."

Pearl nodded her head and excused herself from the group with Emmett.

Raj and others all saw Pearl and Emmett going together towards the old lady, who was none other than Mrs. Mallaya.

Taking her hand in hers, Pearl takes her to the side of the couch in the living room.

"You okay?" Emmett asked Saba as he put pillows around her for her comfort.

"Hmm." Mrs. Mallaya replied to him.

Taking her seat on the couch, she looked around the crowd. Recognizing some faces, she asked Pearl nonchalantly. "They are your parents?" She beckoned with just her brows towards Vijay and Hina.

Hearing that Emmett's head instantly turned to Pearl and then Grandmother then to Vijay and Hina. Once he stared at their faces, he actually could tell some of the resemblances they have with Pearl. Though it's not much or anything compared to Pearl's beauty, there was something in common.

However, remembering the conversation Pearl and Vijay just had a while ago, the first time ever, he was very confused. Why would a father and mother introduce themselves to their own daughter? He was bewildered.

"What parents?" He doubtfully asked.
