chapter 8 Battle tendencies

(I just woke up and started writing, if this incoherent its 100% my fault)

Sitting in my seat, after a long day finally the class that actually matters is coming. But there is also a problem, I don't have amazing battle instincts like Bakugo, or overanalyzing Pro-heroes like Midoriya at most I learned some martial arts with my mother while training my quirk, I was so nervous my feet were constantly tapping.

"Are you nervous Rimuru? your legs are shaking a lot" Hearing Tokoyami mention my nervousness made me all the more tense

"Yeah... it's quite distracting, you should calm down a bit." hearing genuine concern coming from Momo I felt embarrassed so I quickly deflected

"Hahaha, nervous? me? never, have you seen Midoriya? his feet are rattling like a snake's tail." It was true if you were to look closely you might think Midoriya has a vibration setting.

"Hmm it's true, today is very nerve-racking. If you are both feeling tense there is no need to hide it." speaking as if he understood me, Tokoyami closed his eyes and nodded to himself.

"Uh he-hey I'm not nervous it's just tha-" Midoriya, suddenly realizing they were talking about him tried to explain himself but he was rudely interrupted by

"I am! coming through the door like a normal person!" bursting through the door, with his cape flapping was All Might, his iconic smile plastering his face.

"Wow, it's All Might" some of the students exclaimed, after all there were recent rumors that All Might might be coming to teach at UA

"Greetings, young heroes! I will be your teacher for Basics of Heroics, where we will teach you the basics of how to be a hero, be it rescue, investigation, quirk control you name it!" speaking with great enthusiasm he pointed towards the wall, when suddenly 20 suitcases extended out of it, All Might continued

"Please wear your hero costume, which has been specifically designed by your hand, and well head to ground beta" Leaving as quickly as he arrived, we all turned towards the suitcases with shining eyes after all, who wouldn't want to wear something you designed? even if it looks lame (Ahem Ahem Midoriya)

entering the changing room I was confronted with a strange situation

"Um, Iida is there a reason you are blocking my way into the changing room?" Seeing the stiff speedster in front of me, I couldn't help but feel confused, this caused a bit of a scene.

"Rimuru, you were trying to enter the BOYS' changing room, I repeat the BOYS' changing room" With a serious gaze, he looked as if he was the gate guardian to Eden

Having gone through this situation my whole life, I couldn't even bother to get mad 

"um Iida, you know that I'm a guy... right?" Suddenly Iida's face turned paler than a sheet of paper... I could hear subtle gasps from the boys and the girls, I even heard Kaminari saying

"She's a guy... Dammit I thought I hit the jackpot" he exclaimed with tears in his eyes

"I apologize Rimuru, I seem to have mistaken your pronouns. I hope you are not mad at me" With a perfect 90-degree angle his bow put protractors to shame

"I've already gotten used to it, just let me in so we don't hold the line" with my best imitation of a corporate smile, I replied to Iida, thus finally getting to donn my "very original" Hero outfit

My hero outfit was composed of A long blue sweater, A fur scarf that was wrapped around my neck, baggy black pants, and fur-rimmed combat boots the last remaining piece of equipment was a white mask with no features except a beautiful black pattern with a red ruby in the middle (Incredibly original I know) of course my mask was made to be bulletproof, and under my sweater, there is a bulletproof vest for maximum protection.

Leaving the changing room and heading towards field beta, I got to see the other's hero suit from up close. of course, all the designs were pretty much the same, except maybe for Tokoyami as he was slightly influenced by my in-depth and very original hero outfit design.

"they say the clothes make the man, and the ladies" All Might commented, looking at our hero costumes.

"Now remember that from now on, you are heroes! let's begin combats training young heroes" 

"Sir All Might, will we be conducting urban battle training like the entrance exam?" Iida asked in his full white armor

"Good question, young Iida, however today we will move a step ahead" Waggling his finger, All Might denied, Iida, he continued

"Today we will be doing indoor battle training in the form of "Villains vs Heroes"" this caused some confusion among the students, All Might started explaining

"While most villains you know appear outside, there is a greater amount of villains who work indoors, or in the shadows. Today we'll conduct a 2v2 mock battle inside one of the buildings, unlike the entrance exam you will not be fighting robots, but real humans." With this simple explanation, the students got ready to start training, thus All Might started saying the rules

"The villains will be given an explosive they must hide inside the building, to win they must protect the explosive for the allotted time. the hero's role is to catch the villains and secure the bomb in time"

"Now let's decide the teams!" All Might quickly pulled out a box with names inside

[Teams: 

Izuku Midoriya & Ochaco Uraraka vs Katsuki Bakugo & Tenya Iida

Shoto Todotoki & Mezo Shoji vs Mashirao Ojiro & Rimuru Tempest

Fumikage Tokoyami & Tsuyu Asui vs Eijiro Kirishima & Hanata Sero

Denki Kaminari & Kyoka Jiro vs Momo Yaoyorozu & Toru Hagakure

Yuga Aoyama & Mina Ashido vs Rikido Sato & Koji Koda ]

The first battle went the same as expected, with the building getting destroyed by 100% one-for-all. And with Midoriya passing out he couldn't observe the next battles, however, my battle was next so I started preparing.

Being on the villain team with Ojiro, the only "real" threat is Shoto with his icy-hot quirk

"hey Ojiro, why aren't wearing shoes with your outfit?" Asking with clear concern, because if his feet freeze he's basically useless

"My outfit is a traditional robe, wearing anything extra is disrespectful," I couldn't quite make out if he was stupid or had a thing for tradition

"I'm pretty sure tradition doesn't matter when there's a bullet flying to your head"

"Maybe I'll change it later, but we should focus on our battle," Ojiro replied looking towards the door where Shoto would most likely come out of

[AND START!!!]

hearing All Might's enthusiastic voice, I prepared [Beelzbub] to devour all the ice half face would shoot at us

*Meanwhile inside the observatory*

"All Might what are they saying?" Mina asked with curiosity 

"It appears Rimuru is concerned about the protection of Ojiro's outfit," replied All Might, slightly agreeing with Rimuru

"Hey what's Rimuru's quirk anyway? he hasn't used it yet" Mina asked again, this time many students agreed as they were curious about Rimuru's actual quirk

"All I can say is that it's incredibly destructive, he was training to control it for most of his life," answered All Might, still concentrated on Rimuru as he was wondering how much he advanced

"cooool" Mina jumped with a smile, not bothering to ask further

*Returning to the building*

crackle 

Hearing the signature sound of ice approaching, I started to emit [Beelzbub] ready to swing it at anything that came through that door

In an instant, the whole room turned to ice with our feet being stuck to the floor, Ojiro was the most surprised as his feet turned cold maybe even getting frostbite.

"you can move if you want, but you won't want to risk injuring yourself" Hearing the arrogant voice of Iceguy Ojiro put on a defensive posture, Shoto however completely ignored him and tried approaching the explosive.

but before he could get to it, I squirted [Beelzbub] in all directions like a housewife when her husband wasn't home, covering all the ice in destructive fog

"w-what," Shoto was surprised as all the ice he covered the room with, simply disappeared, looking at me he frowned and swung his hand at me shooting a pillar of ice toward me

"he" chuckling to myself, I shot [Beelzbub] at the pillar, erasing it from existence. with a confident expression, I said to him

"oi oi, if you want to cool me down, you better shoot something a little more, or is your dream to become an ice cream man?" Ojiro, who was freed from the ice, took the opportunity from the sick roast to swing his tail into Shoto's face, but it was narrowly dodged

Shoto, this time getting more serious, put up a fighting stance and slowly started to freeze the floor to increase his mobility. Hearing the slow footsteps of Shoji approaching I knew I had to finish this fight fast, swinging my arms wildly I used [Beelzbub] like whips unpredictably moving as it became harder and harder for Shoto to dodge, and with Ojiro on his tail (sorry for the pun) he decided to go all out

"Your quirk is annoying Rimuru." Swinging his arm upwards Shoto created a gigantic glacier and shot it in my direction

"Are you kidding me?" swiftly dodging the sharp icicles, I thought to myself 'Is this guy reckless or dumb? there's an explosive in thi-' the explosive!

not taking any chances, I shot [Beelzbub] with all my might, creating a 4-meter tunnel inside the glacier. Sprinting towards Shoto I swung my fist into his icy face, blasting him toward the wall K.O. Quickly darting my eyes around, I found Shoji sneakily trying to approach the explosive.. well as sneakily as a 6'2 guy can sneak

"oh no you don't." Running at Shoji, I swung my fist toward him, but I was quickly caught by his octo-arms, not letting go I generated [Beelzbub] on my hand which caused him to let go due to pain, his hands now slightly bleeding. Now taking a proper fighting stance, I prepared to smack shoji like a rag. But before I could take a step forward

[15 MINUTES ARE UP - VILLAINS WIN!]

"He, good match" Giving a handshake to Shoji, a true act of sportsmanship, I carried Shoto to the infirmary trying to get as many "good guy points" from All Might.

Returning to the observatory, I noticed many eyes lingering on me, some in awe and some in curiosity.

"All right, now that the fight is over, can you tell me who is the M.V.P of this battle?" Posing this question All Might waited for hands to rise until he chose

"Young Yaoyarozu!" 

"Although it is quite obvious Rimuru is undoubtedly the MVP. He quickly adapted to Todoroki covering the room in ice, as well as allowing Ojiro to strike by taunting Todoroki, In addition, he quickly noticed the distraction that was the gigantic glacier and quickly dispatched Todoroki and stopping Shoji from getting the bomb" with a well-explained reasoning Momo said without pause, causing All Might to freeze from embarrassment

"That's correct! 1 point to young Yaoyarozu" All Might said with an awkward smile quickly announcing the next match

"I was praised by a woman, I must have reached heaven" With tears filling my eyes I felt like I won the game of life until I got an elbow to my side from Tokoyami

"You keep acting like a pervert, truly an embarrassing cretin" Ouch, with a well-deserved comment from Tokoyami, I thought to myself... 'am I a replacement for Mineta? nono nono never ever'

shaking my head I looked towards the screen showing the next matches

"Hey Tokoyami, it's your turn now" Looking for Tokoyami, I noticed he already left.

looking at the next matches most of them, went about the same except for Tokoyami's and Momo's fight as they were the only ones who had actual changes 

with Tokoyami's better fighting style (courtesy of training together) he quickly secured the win, and Momo not having Mineta drag her down got her a better performance against Jiro and Denki

"Good job everyone! Except for Midroiya and Todoroki, we don't have anyone with major injuries, now I must go to review the results with Todoroki and Midoriya. Bye!" quickly sprinting down the hall, All Might disappeared from our sights

Returning to class we again had to study normal subjects, at the end of the day when Midoriya returned from the infirmary half of the class lunged at him

"you were so manly out there Midoriya!" Kirishima commented causing Midoriya to blush

"You were so cool at dodging" Minda added, with an innocent smile

Us on the other hand were just quietly observing the loudmouths

"they are overly loud," Tokoyami said while sitting on his table, chatting with me, Jiro, and Ojiro

"Tokoyami, you mustn't sit on the table, it is not a seat. get off immediately" Iida interrupted us with his usual rigidness

"isn't a table just a taller stool?" I questioned out loud, earning a strage look from the others, Iida however was unrelenting

"These desks were made by craftsmen to aid in our studying, you are spitting in the face of every woodworker in Japan" 

"Iida you are too loud" Tokoyami complained, standing up, he grabbed his bag and started leaving

"Rimuru, let's head home, I remember that we still haven't finished that game we played last night" With the word "game" I followed him at the speed of light, thus leaving the UA campus and only returning tomorrow.

(an actual fight scene? so how did I do? The next chapter will most likely be the USJ incident hehehe")
