Chapter 14

"Don't forget to open your gift, honey," Robbie spoke suddenly to Sasha that made her come back to reality.

Alex creased her brows.

"Another gift?" she asked. There's a hint of irritation in her voice. "Aren't these enough already?"

They finally finished their dinner and a small rectangular box wrapped in shiny pink wrapping was placed down in front of Sasha by one of the crew members.

Robbie grinned.

"This one I'm sure she's going to like."

"You're giving her too much."

Worry started to envelope her.

What if Sasha liked this kind of life than what she could give her? What if in the end she chose him over her when they separate their ways?

She was feeling uneasy about all these. He was showering her with too much material things that her insecurities started to eat her up.

He held her hand and she looked up to him.

"Don't worry. This will be the last for today."

She pursed her lips, trying not to show any sign of anger to him, but deep inside she's boiling.

"What is it, Dad?" Sasha asked curiously, and she eyed the box. Then, her eyes widened as she anticipated what's inside. "Omg! I think I know what it is!"

"Open it," Robbie coaxed her as he let go of Alex's hand. He placed his hands under his chin as he watched Sasha excitedly unwrapped the gift. It was amusing for him to see her reaction.

"A cellphone! It was the latest, too. Oh my gosh! The new Iphone! Daddy!!!" and she stood up, hugging his neck. Robbie laughed in delight.

'She doesn't need a new Iphone. Her phone is still working,' Alex thought.

"Thank you, Daddy!" she said endearingly and kissed him on the cheek. He smiled, holding onto her small arms around his neck.

Then she went back on her seat beside Bernie, and took the phone out of its box. Bernie looked over beside her as they both explored it touching the apps on the screen.

"Let's take a selfie, Auntie," she told him as they both smiled widely. It was the perfect picture as the moon peeked into the wide-open glass windows of the yacht.

"Awww! That was perfect," and Bernie gave her a peck on the cheek. Sasha beamed from ear to ear.

Alex, on the other hand, was not happy.

"Mommy, can we-"

Sasha was about to call Alex when she stood up abruptly, ignoring her. She started to walk away but Robbie caught her arm.

"What's wrong?" he asked. He could sense her unhappiness.

She took his hand off him and moved away quickly.

"Alex!" he called as he followed her to the outer deck. She mounted up the stairs quickly to the upper deck.

"Mom!" but Alex didn't hear Sasha's cry and she frowned. She looked up to Bernie who tried to give her a nice smile.

"It's okay, honey. Don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing. She probably just needed some fresh air," Bernie comforted her.

"But they have been arguing all day. Did I do something wrong?" she asked, sadly.

Bernie took her chin up and her eyes were filled with unshed tears.

"Darling, you didn't do anything wrong. You are such an amazing girl. I'm sure whatever it is, your mom and dad will be able to talk it over. So, don't cry, okay?" and he wiped the tears that finally fell on her cheeks.

"Thanks, Auntie," and Sasha gave him a hug. He hugged her back.

"Now, why don't we ask the crew to play some music for us then maybe you can teach me some dance moves, hmmm?" Bernie suggested.

Sasha's eyes lit up and nodded. So, they walked over to the crew and they played some music for them.

They played a few of the dance music of today's hits and Sasha taught him a lot of moves. They started laughing as Bernie tried them all, swaying his hips to the beat. The two crew members with them also started doing some of the dance steps and Sasha had so much fun that she forgot all about what happened a few moments ago.

Bernie was glad that Sasha was having fun but somehow, he could not take his mind off the two on the upper deck. He was wishing that somehow they were able to resolve whatever issues they had so Sasha would not worry at all.

He sighed and shook his head. The pair had never changed at all. Despite of the years they haven't seen each other, the bond between them were still the same.

He laughed as Sasha continued to dance along the music and taking a video using her new Iphone.

"C'mon, Auntie! Join me," Sasha called him.

He smiled. He remembered how Robbie used to be. How he loved dancing to any kind of tune and memorized most of the steps as well that he started going to dance competitions in highschool. He even convinced Alex to join so they could partner up every time. Though they don't always win, at least they both had fun doing it.

'They really are a great pair if only they would try to get along,' he thought. But then again, seeing them bicker each other was fun to watch as well.

And if he would quote an old saying, "the more you hate, the more you love," that would really fit them. Their love, which possibly had began since they were kids, had been spiced up with so many flavors of a love and hate relationship. Truly, it was one he still continued to look forward to as the years would pass by again.

And he would make sure they will never part again this time.
