The Situation

At the UBC space station 30 minutes after the start of the outbreak.

"Any news on the situation?" Asks Sarah Andarsyn, a security officer at the space station.

"Nope, all signals are dead and the problem appears to be on our end, not theirs." Answers Andrew Bailey, the communications officer. Sarah only nods at his words before turning her gaze to one of the station's windows.

The UBC space station is the largest man-made satellite in history and is home to 24 scientists and engineers as well as 12 security officers. Why would a space station need security officers you ask? Because this is Umbrella's back-up lab, studying new applications on the T-virus on humans. Or that was the case until an alien artifact with a double helix shape appeared inside one of the station's storage rooms. No one knows how it got there but scans showed that no type of electronic component can work on said room. Said anomaly is contained in a 3 meter radius from the artifact's origin point and does not follow the object.

The moment the object was discovered, the crew tried to contact Umbrella's HQ on Earth but no signal left the station. They even tried sending something physically down to Earth but the pod reappeared in the same spot as the artifact.

They are trapped.

"It also looks like they have their own problems down there." Says Isaac Clarke while looking at a dissipating nuclear mushroom on the place where Raccoon city should be.

"Yeah, a nuclear explosion on the surface and an unknown alien object in space, all at the same time." Says Jacob Temple, an engineer.

"We don't know if it is alien." Says Elisabeth Cross, a horticulturalist responsible for most of the station's food production.

"Wait, do you think they might be related?" Asks Isaac to Jacob.

"Do you even need to ask? They both happened at the same time! There is no way it was a coincidence." Says Jacob in exasperation.

"I think it is a little far fetched that aliens would use atomic bombs." Comments Sarah.

"Like I said, we don't know if it was aliens!" Says Elizabeth a little angry at being ignored.

"Oh yeah? And what do you think could have possibly teleported a 5 meter tall object full of strange runes INSIDE the station?" Says Jacob, also getting a little agitated.

"Calm down you two, this is not the time to argue." Isaac says, trying to calm down the couple.

The UBC crew still has no idea about how bad their situation truly is. If a certain pink haired teen knew what was happening there, he would immediately dismantle his AI due to its unreliableness, when in reality whatever put the marker there was also feeding said AI fake data.

Hell.

There are no better words to describe the situation in most of the world.

The infected are already enough to bring down human civilization, but if you add the armies of cloned soldiers running around populated areas while bearing the Umbrella logo on their arms to the equation, you get Hell.

Saiki's interference in this world went beyond his predictions. Alice, a clone of Alicia Marcus, succeeded in bringing the existence of the T-virus to light. Or rather, she sped up its inevitable release. What heavily differentiated this timeline from the movie were some articles published by a young genius that upgraded Umbrella's cloning technology to an unbelievable level.

It is worth reminding that Saiki isn't the only genius in the world.

His arrogance had a price: the strengthening of his enemies.

Dr Alexander Isaacs progressed way faster with the studies Saiki provided to the public, even if all of them were inoffensive in nature, intelligence can find a way to turn anything into a weapon.

And a weapon he made.

A fleshy abomination that could copy any living tissue with complete accuracy. The 'being' itself is big enough to fill an Olympic stadium and can fill many more with its by-products. With the abomination named Master-Mold Umbrella was able to create an army of T-virus enhanced soldiers. An army that will soon be updated to clones of Alice.

As if that wasn't enough, Dr J. Isaacs, a clone of Dr Alexander Isaacs, used the same study material to create a certain artificial pheromone that makes those infected by the T-virus unable to notice those releasing it. Said pheromones are being released by all of their troops while they destroy any and all resistance to their plans.

Or that would be the case if not for a certain brat having similar plans.

Albert Wesker, loyal minion of Dr Alexander Isaacs, is currently looking at a screen in his desk showing a satellite feed. In the screen he can see a giant hexagonal flying structure with many cannons pointed at the spying satellite.

"Fuck you." He hears before seeing one of the cannons lighting up and the satellite becomes dust.

"He once again bypassed my defenses. I have already patched it but it appears he always finds a way into our systems." Says the hologram of a little girl in a red dress.

"Yes, you are not the only one that he surprises." Says Wesker with a grin.

"The structure is taking out all of our satellites besides the ones near UBC station. But even those were crippled by it. The same goes for most of our aircraft." The hologram says.

"Even those on the other side of the world?" Asks Wesker in a bit of surprise.

"The projectiles appear to be teleguided, so even if their target is behind an obstacle they always hit. Their precision is perfect, hitting the target's power source without fail. Aircrafts below 2000 feet are not targeted." Answers the fake little girl.

"So there is an inverse height limit, interesting….." Mumbles Wesker to himself. "What about the troops in Japan?" He asks.

"Due to the difficulties of moving our troops our plans will be delayed. Besides Tokonosu, every human settlement should fall by the end of the month instead of the planned week period. That is, if there is no interference further from him." Says the hologram.

"If that is the case you can discard those predictions. He will certainly make his next move soon." Says Wesker with a smile.

"You appear to be happy with this situation." Comments the little girl.

"I am just happy that we didn't underestimate him. Project Genesis has already proved that he can put up a fight." Wesker says while smiling even more.

Umbrella already knows about Saiki's ability to seemingly create matter, discovered by one of their spies when he published his first thesis. He is also aware that they know of it and puts little to no effort to hide it.

He was also planning for an all out war, and covert operations are slow operations.

"Speaking of that, what is the status of Project Alice?" Says the man going back into business mode.

"She is currently on the run. She escaped together with a few members of the US military. Her implant stopped working due to the destruction of our satellites, but our troops are searching for her." Says the hologram.

"Keep me updated." Says Wesker before getting up from his desk. The girl simply disappears in response.

The game is on, and the prize is the dominion of Earth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'I need to get my family. I need to find Arisu and Maki.' Are the thoughts of a middle aged man running through the streets of Tokonosu city. It has been half an hour since the beginning of the outbreak and the city's death toll has already reached 60 thousand of its 132 thousand citizens. Hell has broken loose on its streets, infected attacking the healthy, looters running around and the occasional police officer trying their best to help. Corpses can be seen at every corner, both lying down or walking.

And with all this chaos, a father is looking for his family, a family that will become a little smaller today.

Reaching his home, the middle aged man feels pure dread while looking at its broken door.

"ARISU! MAKI! WHERE ARE YOU?!" He shouts while running inside.

"PAPA!" The voice of a little girl comes from upstairs.

The man feels a brief sense of relief before noticing the panic on his daughter's voice. He wastes no time and goes to the word's source. Reaching the top of the stairs he sees it.

His wife.

The thing that was his wife.

"M-Ma-Maki….?" He asks weakly.

"Urrrrghhhhhhhhhh" Answers the infected, not being able to remember its last life's companion.

"No, no, no, nononononononononononono this can't be happening…" He says feeling despair. But the zombie does not care about his state, only that it has found easier prey to feast on.

The man notices the actions of his now dead wife and steps back. He knows what he needs to do, but can he bring himself to do it? The moments they spent together flash before his eyes but they stop when he hears the sobs coming from one of the doors.

'Arisu.' Is the first thing that he thinks.

'I need to keep her safe. I need to keep her safe. I need to keep her safe." He repeats to himself like a mantra. He had to accept the reality, his wife is gone but he can still save his daughter.

With tears in his eyes he dashes down the stairs to look for a weapon, he can't risk being bitten and leaving Arisu alone. Going to his garage, he finds what he was looking for: a crowbar. The moment he picks it up, a crashing sound comes from the stairs.

Running back he sees what caused the commotion, the infected tripped on its way down. The man hesitates for a few seconds, his eyes watering even more.

"I need to keep her safe." He says out loud and lifts the crowbar.

*crack*

The man swings down his weapon and a wet breaking noise comes from the thing's head. He did it. He killed the love of his life. Even knowing it wasn't her anymore and that it was necessary, he can't help but feel immense guilt over this.

"I need to keep her safe." He says once more and goes back upstairs. Approaching the door where the sobs were coming from, he opens the door and sees his crying daughter.

"PAPA!" Arisu, a 7 year old with purple hair and eyes, shouts while hugging her father, who hugs her back.

"Arisu, listen, we need to leave. The gate and door are broken. I saw some houses on our way here that looked intact. We can go there for now." Says the man.

"But what about mama?" Arisu asks, making her father feel a deep pain in his heart.

"She…." The man simply can't bring himself to answer. The girl catches the meaning of his silence and cries even harder. The man picks her up and exits the house.

Reaching the house's gates, he puts his daughter down.

"listen Arisu. We need to find somewhere safe, but I can't keep the monsters away while holding you so you will need to hold my hand and follow me okay?" He says in a serious tone. Arisu nods weakly, she is stronger than she looks.

They go around looking for a safe place to stay but are soon overwhelmed by the ever growing number of zombies. A few moments later however, they hear a loud noise coming from the skies. Looking up they see it. A ... flying thing? It looks like a flying bus with 4 propulsors below it.

What they are seeing is a transport type aircraft named TPJ-42, or popularly, the Flying Whale. It is composed of a large rectangular body with a sizable front opening, numerous artillery on the sides of its body and four blue propulsors sprouting below said weapons.

The artillery shifts for a split second before firing a barrage of plasma on the streets targeting only infected individuals. After a few seconds of intense fire, the aircraft lands in front of the father and daughter duo and opens its front ramp. A soldier in light armor made of indestructible gel comes out.

"Move in! We are evacuating the city!" The soldier says while many others armed with different types of weapons ranging from flamethrowers to futurist looking spears make their ways to the street and spread out looking for survivors.

The man, shocked with the situation, stops for a second before feeling his daughter pulling his hands towards the aircraft.

"What are you waiting for? We are working on the clock here! Get in!" The first soldier says and the middle aged man follows his instructions.

"Thank you, thank you so much." The man says, trying not to cry. The soldier removes their helmet, showing the face of a beautiful young woman with red hair.

"You are welcome. It is the duty of the Takagi Militia to protect the citizens of Tokonosu." She says with a smile on her face.

Scenes like this are happening all over the city as the private military force rescues the survivors and eliminates the infected. Umbrella has suspiciously not taken any action towards Tokonosu city, much to the suspicions of a certain pink haired teen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"And here we go!" Shouts a young man named Ellis with a grenade launcher in his hands.

*BOOM*

"Goddammit son, aim that thing AWAY from us!" Shouts a fat black man that goes by as Coach.

"But they were getting close!" Ellis shouts back.

"That is exactly why you should NOT have used that!" Says Nick, a man in a white suit who is picking himself from the ground after being thrown away by the explosion.

"Guys, stop bickering! They are coming!" Says Rochelle, a black woman with an automatic rifle in her hands.

These four are some of the only successful experimental subjects of Project Phoenix from Umbrella, a project aimed to find a cure to mortality itself. They, together with 4 other subjects are effectively immortal as their cells always find a way to regroup themselves and reform their bodies once critical damage is sustained. Sadly, they are only a partial success as no other genetic alterations can be made to them without destabilizing their genetic code.

And as such, after collecting a few of their samples, they were left for dead in Florida, one of Umbrella's favorite testing grounds, now full of rapidly mutating infected. The multinational corporation didn't even deploy any troops to the state as its infected are immune to the calming pheromones.

They don't know it yet but a certain AI has taken notice of their rampage across the state and has deployed mechanical troops to fetch them.

They might be useful.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(POV-Kohta Hirano)

Alright, calm down Kohta, you need to focus. The school is clean so there is nothing else to do here but take care of the survivors.

It was exactly like our training, no, it was better. We knew it wasn't real in the VR but here, here is different. It is our time to shine.

Looking at my side I can see Saiki talking to someone else with his glasses. He is the only one that doesn't use a helmet because he doesn't need one. Honestly, his powers are bullshit. He can store things in a sub dimension and copy said objects infinitely, has a naturally superhuman body, mind and luck, gets knowledge from an alternative reality and cannot die unless he loses ALL the blood in his body.

Not only that but he has a good family and appearance. I would be jealous of him if not for the drawbacks his power comes with, mainly his dreams that make him not want to sleep and his superhuman senses that give him superhuman pain.

Constantly.

He hides it very well, but for we who know of his extreme aversion to pain it is easy to notice the signs. The one who concerns themselves the most with that is his sister and my childhood crush, Saya.

I always felt attracted to her but she never reciprocated, she already had someone she liked. Saiki, being the good friend he is, actually hooked me up with someone else, someone he knew would feel the same. And for that, he got my respect.

Today, I am in a relationship with Asami Nakaoka, a recently graduated police officer that trained with us. She is not on our squadron however as she didn't meet the requirements.

I wasn't the only one that felt the graces of cupid Saiki, the lovey dovey couple at my right is a result of that too. Komuro was basically forced by Saiki to confess to his childhood crush Rei Miyamoto. And now here we are, with an inseparable duo of zombie exterminators.

One day I asked him why he did that, expecting to hear something about friendships and whatnot but the pink haired bastard only said: People fight better with a constant reminder of why they are doing so, and there is no better reason than to protect what is dear to you.

It was them that I understood it, he didn't want to create mere soldiers, but a family of warriors. People that would fight without doubt about what they do, that would die to protect what they stand for. And squadron ESP is his close family.

And we will fight side by side to protect each other.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While Kohta comtemplates about his 'family', Saya stares at her unrequited love. Her brother.

She knows it is wrong, that she shouldn't even be thinking about this, but she can't help herself. She doesn't know when exactly but she fell for her twin. Her brother, of course, is aware of that, she is sure, but he never spoke a word. And the worst thing is that she can understand him.

He puts a LOT of value in family, as much as a certain bald criminal with a fetish for cars. And because of that, he is too afraid to act on his feelings. He fears that their family would end if he does that. And again, he is right. If they cross the line and become anything more than siblings, things would never be the same again and their parents would never approve.

Because of that, he isolates himself from her, their interactions stopped being as warm as before once they discovered their feelings for each other. No more would they play together or sleep in the same room (not same bed).

Their mother already knows of it, although the same can't be said about their father. His reaction would definitely be 'negative' to say the least. Yuriko tried to solve the situation by sending Saiki to the Busujima dojo to train more and hopefully forget about her. What she didn't consider was the fact her son wasn't the only one feeling like that.

Saya's desire for her brother didn't decrease and slowly became an obsession.

The pain she felt seeing how close Saiki and Saeko, her childhood friend, became was unimaginable. She felt betrayed. She felt left behind. She felt forgotten. But Saya is not a quitter. If her brother could go against the world with his own power, why couldn't she pursue her love?

And pursue she did. She studied him and found his every taste, likes and dislikes. She adapted. She stopped using lenses and started using one of her brother's green glasses, modifying them to suit her better. She did her best to help in the lab and trained with reckless abandon. And most important of all, she became flirty with him.

After 2 years of her efforts, she can finally feel the walls to his heart breaking, and she is not going to let some dirty zombies get in her way.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The underground command center of the Takagi state is a giant spherical room with a 50 meter diameter. Its lower half is occupied by a strange glowing blue organic substance that works as the 'brain' for Saiki's AI, separated by transparent indestructible gel. At the center of the room is a pillar with 1 meter of diameter that is a continuation of said brain and works as an accessible interface to the AI. All around the room are desks in a circular formation with operators on said desks, even if many of them are empty.

At the center of the room, in a 'office' made purely of the organic substance is a beautiful purple haired woman. Yuriko Takagi, the only person besides Saiki that can directly connect with the AI, as it was made based on her neural network even if none of her personality and memories were copied.

From there, she can see all that the AI sees and feel all that it feels, but she can't interact with it. She uses said connection to repass precise information to the other operators that relay it to the troops.

As she 'looks' around the city a deep sadness settles in her heart. So much death. So many innocents were slaughtered. And this is only on Tokonosu. She can't even imagine what is going on outside and honestly doesn't want to. She doesn't need to.

The army below her is already making their ways to the other cities using the subterrain network they built along the years. An army 500 thousand strong, 400.000 of them purely mechanical, 70.000 cloned soldiers based on the original 300 hundred soldiers in Tokonosu and 30.000 chimeras.

The chimeras are unique creatures, a result of mixing genetic material from 146 different species in a single humanoid organism. They are bipedal to allow for better energy conservation. A long muscular tail sprouts from their lower back and ends with the head of a halberd made of bone. Their legs are based on kangaroos but end on armored spiked knuckles, the same as their hands. Their arms and upper torso's structure are similar to that of a mantis shrimp, allowing for devastating punches. Their heads are similar to that of a xenomorph, but covered in eyes. Developed vocal cords able to imitate any sounds they hear. Over all of that is a thick translucent hide and fur, capable of changing colors. Their internal organs are simply alien, a creation made with sheer madness.

And drugs.

They are not just killing machines but perfect hunters armed with ungodly toxins that can become almost undetectable and punch a hole through folded graphene. And worst:

They reproduce.

They communicate.

They learn.

They are unable to go against the commands of a specific electromagnetic frequency.

And they have been unleashed on the world.

Umbrella made their monsters and we made ours.

"Is this really the right thing to do…..?" Yuriko can't help but think out loud. Her son's plans seem too extreme to her most of the time.

Phew, here it is!

Sorry for the long world building, I just can't write things right if I don't give them enough details. Next chapter will be the start of the military operations and direct battles against Umbrella.

I probably won't post another chapter this week as my exans start tomorrow, but I will have another one done in the weekend.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
