Bucky's breathing subconsciously sharpened as he scanned the hideous-looking vampires around him.
The cold feeling from the weapon he was carrying calmed his tense nerves.
At least he could still go against these guys.
Pointing his gun at the vampire in front of him, Bucky whispered, "Steve, make it quick."
"I'll try."
Holding the shield in his hand, Steve looked at all the people in front of him. Although they were still wearing uniforms, Steve knew these soldiers weren't like him. In theory, Steve, who was injected with the Super Soldier's Serum, was also very different from ordinary people.
"Sorry Captain, we won't let you go near Lord Dio."
With a hiss from his lips, one of the vampire soldiers lunged towards Steve, wielding his sharp nails.
Bang --
Steve raised his shield, blocking the attack of the vampire soldier. However, in contrast to Dio's power, the vampire in front of him displayed a significantly lower level of power.
The shield in Steve's hand slammed hard enough to knock the vampire flying. He followed this up with a leap of faith, rushing between the vampires and fighting them in a fierce, close-quarters struggle.
Bang bang bang bang --
"Sure enough, nothing works!"
After firing several shots, he looked at the vampire, who was turning into a sieve but didn't stop for a second. He couldn't help but grimace, and without hesitation, he threw away the automatic rifle he was holding and replaced it with a new weapon.
"Ah ~~~"
As a blue beam flashed, one of the vampires surrounding Steve let out a harsh scream, turning into ashes because of the beam.
"Sure enough, the bigger the gun...! "
Glancing down at the Hydra Heavy Assault Rifle in his hand, Bucky raised an eyebrow. This Hydra Heavy Assault Rifle was a trophy from the previous rescue operation, and he took it out of the laboratory of the Strategic Scientific Reserve.
Bucky wasn't the only one surprised by the power of the Heavy Assault Rifle; even Steve couldn't help looking back while in combat.
Just when Steve was distracted, the vampire behind him made a sudden lunge and was about to attack.
"Look out!"
Noticing that Bucky almost subconsciously raised the weapon in his hand and pulled the trigger towards the vampire that was trying to sneak up behind Steve. In the next second, with the faint blue light flashing, the vampire instantly turned into ashes and disappeared.
Dio sat on the second floor, silently watching the battle in the hall.
In terms of actual combat prowess, the vampire soldiers were obviously superior. Their combat experience, combined with the powerful recovery ability of vampires and the advantages of their numbers, enabled them to fight Steve head-on. However, after Bucky's weapon appeared, the situation obviously changed.
The energy of the weapon came from the Tesseract, which was one of the six Infinite Stones in the world and had its own powerful force. Even if it was just a little bit of its original power, it wasn't something that an inferior vampire Dio had created could resist.
So, watching Bucky wipe out the vampires in front of him one by one,
Dio poured the glass of red wine into his mouth and finished it in one gulp.
Then, he turned over and jumped from the castle's second floor.
"Bucky, look out!"
Aware of the strange movement from above, Steve quickly looked up and saw the figure jumping down. Hastily, he opened his mouth to warn Bucky behind him.
Hearing Steve's warning, Bucky didn't hesitate to raise the weapon in his hand and fire it into the air.
Faced with the blue beam coming towards him, Dio's expression showed no signs of panic as he changed his stance and flipped his body in the nick of time, landing on the ground while avoiding the beam.
"Dio!"
Steve held his shield and looked at the handsome blond man in front of him with a steely face.
Gently landing, Dio looked at Steve and Bucky with a cocky expression on his tilted head and a malicious grin on his face, "Steve, I've been waiting for you."
Looking at Dio, who wasn't even slightly injured, Steve remembered his previous ability to suck up a Hydra soldier's blood and recover from his injuries. He couldn't help but question, "Dio, just how many have you taken away to heal those wounds?"
Picking his eyebrows, Dio looked at Steve and asked, "Do you remember how many pieces of bread you have eaten in your life?"
In reality, the shell didn't even injure Dio as badly as he thought it would. With the physical strength of his B-rank card, even a head-on tank attack wouldn't necessarily hurt him, and the reason for answering Steve like that was purely to solidify Dio's villainous image.

"You've gone insane, Dio! "
Hearing Dio compare human beings to bread, Steve was in disbelief.
"No, Steve. It's the circle of life. Pigs eat grass, people eat pigs, and I ... eat people. I am the true ruler of all! I'm not you, having powers beyond normal people, but still playing a clown in a circus ..."
"..."
Dio's shocking statement woke Steve up thoroughly.
The Dio in front of him was no longer the colleague he had fought alongside in the past. He was now a demon, a monster in Dio's skin.
"Dio, I can't let you live with such dangerous thoughts."
Holding up his shield, Steve looked at Dio with a firm expression and said so.
Gathering a grin on his face, Dio looked at Steve and slowly replied back, "I happen to have the same thoughts."
From the previous encounter, Steve knew exactly how formidable Dio's power was after his vampire transformation. So, he swung his shield, using it as a weapon, and struck Dio with a heavy blow.
Bang --
A dull thud erupted as fist and shield collided.
