Before the Defenders rushed in...
The doors of the building were opened, and out of them came a dense crowd of gang members.
"Looks like the surprise party was busted."
Looking at the armed forces in front of him, Frank raised his eyebrows and remarked.
Actually, Kingpin had eyes all over Hell's Kitchen, especially after combining the shady forces of the whole region. The flow of information was firmly in hand, and the movements of the Defenders had long been grasped.
"Seems like you guys are more desperate than I thought."
Kingpin's deep voice came from behind the crowd. Then, the underlings gave way, and people saw his huge body appear. He walked up to the Defenders with his cane and scanned the Defenders in front of him. Kingpin curled his mouth with a disdainful sneer.
"In a hurry to die?"
"Kingpin! "
Hearing this familiar voice, Matt subconsciously tightened the grip on his guide stick, "We won't let you destroy Hell's Kitchen."
"Destroy?" Facing the rebuke of Matt's righteous words, Kingpin's expression turned even more disdainful, "On the contrary, it was I who saved Hell's Kitchen and re-established a new state of order. And you, you're just a bunch of fools who have no idea, who only have shallow intentions and so-called justice."
"Your justice can't change a single thing about Hell's Kitchen, while my one word can change everything here for the better or worse. I'm the real hero of Hell's Kitchen."
"You, a hero?"
Faced with Kingpin's boisterous words, Jessica couldn't help but display a mocking smile, "That's a good joke."
"Everything you've made is built on suffering. You don't deserve to be called a hero." Cage said. He didn't agree with Kingpin's remarks.
"To be honest, I'm not here to convince you."
Facing the Defenders' taunts and retorts, Kingpin's expression didn't change in the slightest. He added with an air of righteousness, "Because, after today, the Defenders are no more."
As his voice fell, Kingpin stepped aside.
Immediately after, a group of cyborgs whose bodies were covered with a metallic lustre appeared in front of the Defenders, marching at the same neat pace.
"Bullseye!"
Noticing the familiar face on the leading cyborg, Jessica felt stunned.
"How is that possible? I remember, you obviously ..."
Bullseye stopped as he heard Jessica's startled cry, and a stiff smile emerged on his face. He replied with a cold robotic-like voice, "Obviously? Obviously paralysed me? Don't worry, I have a new body now. It's my turn soon." As Bullseye spoke, he raised his arm. His arm turned into a gun, and he aimed it at the Defenders, "Time for my revenge, Defenders."
With Bullseye's movements, the army of cyborgs behind him also raised their arms.
Instantly, the powerful firepower of the cyborg army rushed in like a metallic storm, attacking the defenders.
"Look out!"
Facing the bullets, Cage stood in the way without a second thought.
However, this time, the firepower unleashed from the hands of the cyborg army was fiercer than anything he had endured in the past. A large number of bullets hit him accurately through the precise calculations of the cyborgs, and for a moment, he couldn't move forward. He stood in place and passively endured.
Frank frowned, then taking cover behind Cage, he fired back.
However, the difference in firepower between them made it impossible for him to gain any momentum in the shootout. What upset him even more was the defence of this modified cyborg army in front of him, which simply disregarded his attacks.
"Fuck."
Turning to look at the Hummer parked nearby, Frank cursed out.
"Sorry. If I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have pulled my punches."
Looking at the cyborg army in front of them, especially the leader Bullseye, Jessica felt upset. She never thought that Bullseye would be able to get back on his feet and pose such a serious threat to the Defenders like this.
"It's not your fault," Matt spoke out. "Even without Bullseye, Kingpin would still modify people and turn them into cyborgs. These guys should be the people who went missing in Hell's Kitchen."
"I never thought Kingpin would be this deranged, turning people into robots." Danny blurted out, still unable to hide his shock.
"..."
In fact, not to mention the Defenders, even Ryan, who gave the drawings to Ivan Vanko, didn't expect things to go this far. Kingpin and Ivan were crazier than he had expected.
"Anyway, I'll take care of Bullseye."
Jessica spoke up with a firm expression as she raised her head and looked at Bullseye, whose body had undergone a complete transformation, leaving only his face.
Controlling her body while flying into the air, Jessica shouted to Bullseye, "Bullseye! Want me to remind you how I twisted your arms?"
Looking up at Jessica, who hovered in the air, Bullseye's memory started to recover. His body which had been transformed into a machine, vaguely remembered the pain. He grinned with a stiff smile. In the next moment, a strong jet of flame shot out from beneath his feet, sending him flying into the air.
"No need. Since I woke up, I remembered everything that had happened. I asked Vanko to modify my body, to give me the ability to fly... just for you. When I get my hands on you, I'll break your limbs one by one... slowly. I'll let you feel what I felt that day."
"Catch me if you can."
Faced with Bullseye's threat, Jessica raised her slender eyebrows and replied defiantly.
"I always do what I say I'll do." While speaking with a cold expression, Bullseye withdrew the firearm on his arm and replaced it with a sharp blade.
"So, Kingpin, are you satisfied with the cyborgs?"
Wearing a wide trench coat, Ivan appeared in front of Kingpin, watching the battlefield in front of him. An ugly smile appeared on his rough face as he asked Kingpin.
"Exactly what you asked for. Powerful, terrifying killing machines with a lot of firepowers."
"You did a good job." Turning to look at Ivan beside him, a rare smile appeared on Kingpin's face. He gazed back at the Defenders, who were losing ground because of the cyborg army, and the grin on his face intensified, "With this cyborg army, Hell's Kitchen... No, all of New York will be in my hands."
Listening to Kingpin's ambitious words, Ivan silently bowed his head with a vague expression on his face.
