Madera Language

Later on that day, I resettled into the room with the cats. I take them off of [Orbit]. I had a random thought while laying in bed. Isn't it possible to just let them roam around outside? They'll just come back anyways. I also really want to see what they can obtain from just being free. I feel like some might return with mice but maybe some will learn something new. I explained my thoughts to them, and the more adventurous cats were on their way. Some of the girls stayed home, and I kept the more troublesome cats with me. Seeing the pile of books on the table, I sit down and start to read through them. It doesn't take long before I get a notification from the pad.

Finally! Some of the letters are much easier to understand in the book. The one in front of me talks about the history of the Forest Kingdom, the past rulers and the current rulers. It looks like the Kingdom has been ruled by the King for over 45 years, since he was 10?! That seems way too young for someone to rule over a large continent. So the Forest Kingdom is made up of one continent which spans across several mountains. Then it looks like there are other kingdoms to the left and the right. The Forest Kingdom has a long standing peace treaty with the Purple Empire which is to the left of the Forest Kingdom. It doesn't say much about the Frost Empire though.

Anyways, I should check the note pad for the updated info.

The Madera language is commonly used in the Forest Kingdom. There are two versions of this language, the Madera Common language and the Madera Magic language. Madera Magic language is used by magic folk or beasts. The Madera Common language is used by humans.

Master can now read books that contain the Madera Common language, and will pick up conversations in this language easier.

Master may still find some words difficult to speak, but will be capable of holding conversations.

This is exactly what I needed. It looks like I'll have to read a lot more to pick up the language completely but at least now I know how to learn languages. I think being able to hear other people speaking the language for a day helped too.

"[Call], time for bed!" I laid down in bed, ready to sleep. Grace, Hana, Tulip and Velvet made their way up to bed to claim the first spots around me. It felt like they wanted to obtain the best spots before anyone else could. I started to doze off after seeing the cats return from their excursion. Each one jumped back in through the window and came up to the bed. I expected some of them to smell, but it doesn't seem like that happened. I guess I won't have to worry about giving them a bath.

I spent the next morning brushing each cat's fur. When I woke up, it was a bit chilly since I didn't close the window before bed. It would be nice if I could build a cat door for the window. But it's not like I have any construction experience. Perhaps after I get some money I can hire someone else to make one.

After brushing Doggy's thick fur, he looked much more presentable. Not that I was meaning to present them to anyone… yet. But I loved seeing him walk around the room feeling confident. Today I planned to go out and explore the town. Since I didn't plan to be home, I gave them the choice to leave the room or stay. It seems like a group of adventurers had formed. Silk, Shiver, Doggy, Dolly and Fern. Snake also wanted to go outside this time, so I allowed it. I ordered him to stay close to the inn though, which he protested.

"It's not like I'll get lost!" Snake whined.

"I'd feel better letting you leave if you just stayed close. That's all. That way if I need you, you can come back quickly." I rub his head to calm him down. He settles down into my touch. He's always had a thing for 'protecting' me, so I just used that against him to make him stay close. It worked.

"Hm.. fine, you do need me after all." Snake sneaked out of the window, following behind the others. He reminds me of an older brother that needs to be validated, if they aren't then they'll pout and mope. Something along the lines of, 'I can't believe you don't need your older brother anymore!'.

After settling them down, I left Mystic in charge. This time I was taking Grace with me outside.

"Grace, [Role]…" I continue to explain.
