Chapter 12 - The Marvel Universe

As she flipped through the paper she was shocked by what was in it— Stark Industries being in the paper once again for something that they did.

She didn't even care to read what it was they did— it didn't matter— she was far too stunned by the fact that it was in the paper, to begin with.

It didn't make any sense, why would Stark Industries, a fictional business, be written about in the newspapers in some random town?

Was it perhaps a fake newspaper?

No that didn't make any sense, other newspapers had the same thing— who would print so many fake newspapers just to throw them around here?

Not to mention, they couldn't be promotional pieces, they had no logo on the paper, and they looked like real newspapers.

Was this perhaps not the real world?

Sure it was a big leap of conclusion, but, it would make sense.

She had been reborn as an alien species that was extinct, regressed in time, and now she found herself in a world where the fictional Marvel company existed.

Was she reincarnated? It made no sense but nothing else would make sense.

And it was something she had always thought about— wished— from all the novels and books she had read about it. If it had really happened to her she would love it.

But was this reality, to begin with?

The thought that this mightn't be real started to slip into her mind— the possibility of all this being fake— or some sort of long dream was terrifying to her.

She was finally starting to enjoy life— if it wasn't really then what was there to enjoy?

What if she woke up and none of this was actually happening?

No that didn't make sense— it felt way too real— it was real.

But then it hit her, why did it matter?

So what if there was the possibility that this wasn't real? So what if this was merely a dream that she was having? As long as she could experience it that was enough for her to have fun.

Plus what if it was real— what if this was her new reality— her new world, she knew so much, could do so much.

She couldn't help but feel tingles of excitement through her body at the thought. The very thought made her blood boil, her very mind was screaming at her to make the best of this, and use everything she knew to her advantage.

And she would.

From the date in the paper— the year being 2008— she can tell that Tony Stark hadn't become Iron Man yet.

At least from what she remembered— she wasn't quite sure if the timeline was the same given how messed up the Marvel Comic books were, but from the newspapers, she was sure she was right.

Meaning she had quite some time to prepare for the events that were to come in the future— especially when the giant purple man decides to show up.

She had no interest in being part of the 50% that vanished, nor did she have any interest in letting him erase 50% of her valid food sources.

So she would have to be strong enough to deal with him once the time came— to eat him. Along with everything else leading up to him.

She dropped the newspaper where she got it and looked around. The streets were empty because of how dark it was, so she had no worries about others seeing her aside from the minor drunk or fool.

And who would believe them if they went around saying anything about her?

She decided to find some clothing before sorting out her thoughts because it would help her feel more at ease, but for that, she needed money or to steal it.

Stealing it would be the best option for now since she had no money on her to buy it— but she needed money for her future plans so she would have to find a way to make some.

Meaning she would need to get money somehow anyways, and even more money in the future.

She had means of getting money but that would require her to have documentation to prove she existed— which she would have none of since she was born from an egg in a forest.

Though she was sure that she would find a way to do that easily within the world of the MCU. Especially with all the illegal activities the world had going on in it.

For now, she looked around for something to wear, walking down the streets of the town in search of clothing.

Finding a store that displayed woman's clothing in the window of its front. Unfortunately for her, they were all much too big for her current size— which was much smaller than the average teen.

But of course, it would have clothing inside, so she decided to shatter the window and break inside.

The window made some noise when it shattered, but it wasn't loud enough to wake anyone up, so she wasn't worried about drawing attention— plus if anyone heard it she would deal with them.
