"Enough." Ajay's voice sounded stern.
Raj seemed a little intimidated by Ajay's voice but he didn't stop. "What? You're going to hit me? Fine. Come on, hit me!".
The cafe's owner, who came out after hearing the commotion, stood a few steps away from the table with a complicated expression.
Diya felt sorry for that old lady. 'Could today get any terrible?'.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Everyone turned their head to look at the source of the sound. Although Diya was embarrassed, she decided to use that opportunity to do something to fix the situation.
"Hey, Ravi! How are you? What happened? Why do you sound weird? What? You met with that bastard? How shameless! He bragged in front of you about snatching your girlfriend from you? I would've punched his face if I was there!" Diya said slightly raising her voice.
"Don't worry about that cheaters. Give me his phone number. I should thank him for saving you from that witch. How shameless of her to send her new boyfriend to talk to you. How could your taste be so poor?".
Diya heard a few chuckles around her.
"Hey, who do you think you are? How dare you call me a cheater?". Diya looked up at Raj who was fuming mad.
Diya put on a confused look. "What are you talking about mister? I'm just talking to my friend. Why are you blaming me when I clearly didn't call YOU a CHEATER?" she said emphasizing the 'you' and 'cheater'.
Raj's face turned ugly. He dashed out of the cafe after glaring at Diya.
Diya ignored him. She heard a sound from her phone and remembered the ongoing phone call. "Ravi! I'm sorry. Something happened and I needed the help of this phone call." Diya hurriedly said.
"Are you okay? I would've cursed at you for jinxing my relationship when it started only a few days ago if you didn't explain just now. Do you want me to come to you?" Ravi asked worriedly.
Diya smiled sensing his worry. "Haha, It's okay. I'm alright. So, why did you call me?".
"Oh, right. I'm on my break. So I thought 'why not call Diya, who'll be doing nothing because she's done for the day.'. Did anything interesting happen?".
Diya rolled her eyes and said "Ha. Ha. Very funny! and yes. A lot happened. But I don't want to talk about it now. I'll tell you in person."
"Okay then. I'll talk to you later. I gotta go. Bye!" Ravi hung up.
Diya put down her phone and continued to drink her coffee.
"Thank you for that".
