Chapter 6

Diya was startled to hear a deep voice so close to her.

She looked up to see an extremely handsome face. She felt wrong for thinking that Raj guy was handsome. His handsomeness is inferior to this man. Even this man's barely noticeable smile made him more attractive. Diya wondered how he would look if he were to smile brightly.

"Miss?" the voice sounded again.

Diya stopped her thoughts and asked, "Y-yes? Oh! What d-did you say? Oh! You're w-welcome.". She slapped her forehead in frustration.

Ajay's smile became bigger after looking at the woman's embarrassed face. Diya strangely found that sight very pleasing. 'No, no. What happened to you? Get yourself together!' She thought to herself.

"Can I sit here?" He asked. Diya hesitated for a while then nodded her head.

Ajay sat down in front of her. "Thanks again and sorry for the inconvenience." He said.

"It's okay. But don't you think that you should've stood up for yourself? It was clearly his fault. You don't need to explain yourself if you don't want to though. I'm just curious. And I didn't mean to eavesdrop. You should know it. You guys were pretty loud."

Ajay continued to look at her and remained silent.

Diya looked at him and said, "I'm sorry. I was being nosy. I understand that you can't just share your personal stuff with a stranger."

Ajay smiled at her. "No need to apologize."

Diya returned the smile and exclaimed loudly when she checked her watch "Oh my god! I'm so sorry but I have to go right now.". She finished her coffee in one gulp and picked up her handbag and phone from the table.

"Is everything fine?" Ajay asked, looking at her urgency.

Diya coughed in embarrassment. She can't tell him that it's time for her favorite drama to air. What will he think of her?

"No, no. Everything is fine. Have a good day. Bye." Ajay saw her hurrying over to her car.

"Boss! Are you smiling? Oh my god! Are you hurt?" Karl asked anxiously checking Ajay for injuries.

Ajay's lips pressed into a thin line. He swatted his hands away and asked, giving him a sharp look "Have you completed your tasks?".

Karl gave him a cheeky smile. "Of course. When have I failed you? But who was she? You were giving her this weird look and you even smiled! I was shocked by that scene.".

Ajay stood up and walked toward his car without answering.

He didn't know what to call the feeling he felt when facing her. He always refused to share his problems or worries with someone else. But he had a strange urge to tell her, a complete stranger, everything when she asked. Although, he didn't.

He's used to handling everything on his own and never needed help from others. But strangely, he was elated by the fact that she helped him today even though it was something so trivial.

Karl gave Ajay a knowing look. Karl was at the cafe, since Diya's arrival. Yes, she is pretty but she can't be compared to the girls his boss meets in the business dinners in his daily life.

"Of course, wouldn't I be the god if I can figure him out?" he sighed.
