More Of A Mystery

Roman grew progressively more confused as the day went on. Penny was going back and forth between being comfortable with him—almost like they were old friends—and being rather quiet. 

He had absolutely no idea what she was thinking. She would be in the middle of looking like she was having fun when she would suddenly go quiet and have this unfathomable expression on her face. 

What was with her? He figured he had stepped on a landmine by pushing her when she cut herself off earlier. He hadn't realized her financial problems were because of medical debt. 

What a terrible burden to bear on top of already losing her dad. It had been such a long time coming too. Five years was no short amount of time waiting for someone to die.
