Quite honestly, I was a little disappointed. I assumed by now with all the changes around him he would have awakened the second tomoe or even three tomoe by now. Maybe that was expecting too much. The disappointment quickly left my face. Sasuke may have been talented in his own way but he was no Itachi in terms of talent. I did not know why but I was kind of looking forward to fighting a sharingan.
Sasuke charged at me and swiped at my neck. I leaned back slightly before sending a punch of my own. 'Oh that looks interesting. He can see it? I thought one had to reach the second tomoe before they could predict moves? I picked up speed slightly and slammed into his face, sending him sliding back. 'I understand. It was not prediction, more like he was using his head. I guess it was, just more with his head than the sharingan.' The thought made me smile. I had to admit, Sasuke was impressive.
I saw him pick himself up with an irritated look. Looking at him run towards me again, 'Same pattern. This is getting boring. I should probably end things soon. I only gave him the fight he had been nagging me about for so long.' That was when I saw he pull out something different from nowhere that caught me by surprise. If I had my autopilot fully activated it would not have been a problem, but why would I use that against a pre time-skip Sasuke. I guess that was the price of my arrogance. Although I was unscathed.
Well, that was a barrage. Two large fireballs, shuriken bunshin, and an explosive tag. If it were anyone else, they would have died. Wind style: Kaiten. I quickly defended with Kaiten but it was impromptu and I did not get a full rotation. Although unscathed, I was pushed back by the shockwave. Looking up at his happy face I could not help but smirk. "If I didn't know any better, I would say you were trying to kill me. Hehe." I had to admit the gloomy kid (Although he wasn't anymore) got the better of me. I began to slowly walk towards him, subtly leaking killing intent. "You moved me. Well done."
He was rooted to his spot as I continued to slowly make my way towards him. I could see his face go through a lot of emotions until he finally came to who knows whatever conclusion. That was when I finally knew what it was when I saw him standing there in his defensive position with determination on his face. I stood in place without realizing with a smile on my face. His determination was not the reason for my stop.
Looking into his eyes I saw it. It had changed. Evolved. Glaring at me was no longer the one tomoe, but the two tomoe sharingan. I doubt he had even realized what had happened. Looking at his defensive position I assumed he was waiting for me to come to him. Fine then. I run to him a sent a punch to his face at his pace. I saw him move his arm up to deflect it, when I sped it up. It was a repeat of earlier. Only, this time he reacted to it. He tilted his head slightly to the side and with his left, deflected the punch to the side and counted with a punch of his own.
I deflect his punch to the side and threw another of my own, only this time, much faster. Like before he deflected and sent a kick to my head. I increased the tempo once more and sent a punch without deflecting to evading his kick. However, that was a feint. Just as we were about to clash, I opened my palm at the last second and tried to grab his foot. As if he could see it, he quickly pulled his foot back and jumped back to put distance between us.
It was getting fun. I dashed to him again and threw a fast kick to his head. I had increased the tempo once more. He barely dodged by ducking under it and swept my feet. I slammed my foot on the ground and took the kick. I heard him groan before jumping back. Looking at his red and sore shin that had kicked mine, I could not help but laugh. He looked like he wanted to rub his shin but was worried I would attack him, so he refrained from it. My very own version of tekai. Not really. I had strengthened my skin and muscles through lightning tempering. Plus, I could control my muscles somewhat.
I charged at him once more and attacked, increasing the tempo even more. This went on for more than a few times until he was finally breathing hard, barely able to properly stand. "How about we call it a day?" At those words he finally collapsed on the ground. "Well, you got stronger, that's for sure." I began walking away. "Good luck on the upcoming exams, you two. Oh, and congrats on evolving your sharingan, Sasuke." Sasuke touched his eye in confusion as I flickered away from them both.
What just happened made me thirst for a battle with Itachi. I was looking forward to it. On the way I saw both Kakashi and Jiraiya both talking at a bench somewhere. I increased my speed the moment I did and run straight home. I was too embarrassed to see either of them. I had to admit, I found it a little funny. They were now preparing for the arrival of Thanos. Haha. I could not help but laugh loudly.
When I got home, everyone was out except the man with the wired hairstyle whom I called father. He was reading a scroll on the couch with snacks by his side and a relaxed look on his face. Seeing everyone out and with nothing to do I sat by him. I know. I shocked myself too. These were the times I missed my TV. Or internet. Or pornhb or something. I could only sigh at my misfortune.
I picked up one of the scrolls and began to read through. They were reports on different missions and threats regarding some of the villages participating in the upcoming chunin exam. We both just sat there and read in silence until I heard him speak. "I heard you the new proctor for the third chunin exam." I looked at him with a raised brow. It seemed word traveled fast around here. I turned back to the scroll in my hand and nodded.
I saw him nod as well in the corner of my eye and spoke as again, "Papa will be on duty during the first round of the third stage, but mama and I will definitely be there to cheer you on during the second stage, so go out there and do your best." He put down the scroll and gave a goofy smile. It was rare for me to see him so serious and not give one of his stupid puns or weird dad jokes. What did he mean cheer me on? Normally weren't they supposed to cheer on the participants? Whatever. I couldn't help but smile slightly before quickly hiding it. I put down the scroll before walking towards my room, but not before giving him some advice, "Villages who hate us might try something. If it should, stick with mom." With that I left before waiting for him to reply.
Like that, one whole week passed, and it was officially time for Chunin exam.
