Harry Potter: God of Magic

Magic blooms in a select few, but in Virgil, it bloomed twice. With knowledge and abilities from a different world, he tries to save his life in a family on the brink of extinction. Will his power bring him glory or push him closer to the abyss? This story is slow and the canon is iffy at best. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I don't own anything in this novel except the original plot and OC.

Train

Virgil opened his eyes and saw he was in his room. "Lost again."

His eyes scanned the room and his brows furrowed. He didn't feel Hassan in the room. "Hassan."

"Yes, Master." A deep voice answered him and a skull-masked man with a hooded black cloak appeared in the room.

"Where is your main body?" Virgil sat up and looked at the clone.

Silence filled the room for a few seconds until the clone spoke. "Recovering."

Virgil raised his brows but didn't pry. He sat up from the bed and headed toward the door. He wasn't upset that he lost, disappointed, but not irrational.

Instead, he went over the fight in his head and what he could have done differently.

The clone followed behind Virgil and vanished. Unlike the main body which could cast spells, the clones used magic from the runes carved into their very bones.

Virgil went back to his study and started researching the curse again.

Before he could settle down the door to the study was pushed open and Kiara walked in. "I've decided to join Gryffindor, I found something, or someone interesting while going out today."

Virgil raised his head and stared at Kiara. "Did you come here just to tell me this?"

"Of course not." She came over and sat on the corner of the desk. She crossed her legs and leaned forward with a gleam in her eyes. "I met Lily Evans today and befriended her."

Virgil could once again see everything when she crossed her legs, knowing she was teasing him, he refused to comment on it. "Lily Evans? Does she matter?"

He was slightly confused as to why she was bringing it up.

"You don't understand, don't you think corrupting the mind of the protagonist's mother seems thrilling." Kiara couldn't help showing a devilish grin.

Virgil's body shivered from the charm Kiara just released. If not for his occlumency he couldn't stop himself from pushing her down at this moment. "Do what you want but don't go too far, we still need Harry Potter. Otherwise, how would we get the philosopher's stone? That old bastard is hidden behind too many charms and I don't feel like playing hide and seek."

"Don't worry! I know what to do! I want to see if I can change his name to Harry Snape. As long as Voldemort gets the prophecy he will fall." Kiara jumped from the desk and disapparated in the air.

"She seems happier since she left the castle." Virgil shook his head and got back to work. His power allowed him to face all changes and challenges that may come. Wanting Harry to be born was more out of convenience than fear.

A Hassan clone had been stalking Sybill Trelawney for years. The prophecy could become whatever he needed it to be.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Time passed and soon September 1st arrived. A black 1970 Cadillac Coupe deVille pulled up to King's Cross station and Virgil got out of the car.

He wore a white dress shirt with a dark gray vest, black slacks, and custom-made black dress shoes. His silver hair was neatly combed back and he carried a black briefcase.

Virgil nodded to Father Bell in the car before walking into the station.

A few students with a trolly and an owl in a cage caught his eye but he paid them no heed. He walked straight towards platform 9 ¾ and passed through the wall.

The other side was far more lively than the muggle side. The large steam train was billowing smoke and parents were hugging their children and checking their supplies.

While Virgil was walking to the train he felt someone looking at him. Not the casual glance of a passerby, but someone looking at him with purpose.

His head turned and saw Rabastan looking at him. When their eyes locked they nodded and Rabastan turned his head.

Virgil walked onto the train and headed for Rabastan's car. Now that he wasn't going to join Ravenclaw, he needed to fit in with the Slytherins. Being labeled as evil was better than standing out and drawing attention.

The chatter on the train blended together to produce pure noise. It was strange for him, he was used to being in a quiet place or moving through a crowd quickly.

When Virgil arrived at the car door he already had a look of annoyance on his face. He slid open the door and saw three people already inside.

Rabastan, a boy with light brown hair meticulously combed to the side, and a girl he knew well. "Cousin, how come you never visit? My father thought about coming to see you, but I doubt anyone would visit the Safiq castle."

"I see you still like to insult people to their faces, Dalilah." The girl had long black hair and teal eyes that drew you in. While she had a sweet face and looked lovable, she had a nasty tongue. She was his cousin, Dalilah Rosier, her father was his uncle.

Virgil sat next to Rabastan and looked at the other boy. "I'm Virgil Shafiq, who might you be?"

"Shane Avery, Nice to meet you." He reached out and the two shook hands.

Dalilah saw this and rolled her eyes. "Don't bother getting to know him, Avery, he won't live much longer."

"I noticed you looked upset when you walked in, what happened?" Rabastan ignored Dalilah and turned to Virgil.

Virgil shook his head with a bit of annoyance. "The train is too noisy, I don't know why they don't close the door if they want to talk."

"Because those mudbloods are uncivilized." Rabastan scoffed. "They love to inconvenience others for their own comfort and act offended when you call them out."

Delilah nodded in agreement. "Not to mention the smell! It's like they stuffed us in here with a bunch of pigs!"

"Pigs?" Shane smiled. "That's a good idea, they should add a cart to the back of the train full of hay if they want to act like animals."

The corners of Virgil's lips curled. He knew the fastest way to bond with others was hate. Mutual hate could draw people closer together than anything else. "Guys, I think comparing them to pigs is an insult."

All eyes were focused on Virgil in an instant. "At least Pigs are still useful to eat."

Three smiles bloomed in an instant. "Calling Mudblood pigs is an insult to pigs." Dalilah covered her mouth and giggled.

While Virgil was talking in the car, Kiara also arrived on the train. She didn't look for Virgil or even Lily when she did. A light blue ring glowed around her golden irises and the future flashed before her eyes.

Her eyes didn't predict the definite future but showed infinite possibilities. In a moment, she saw herself walking to every car and introducing herself. Some interactions were pleasant, some were cruel, and some ended in violence.

Soon she found what she was looking for and the glow in her eyes faded. She could have kept going, but the further into the future you see, the more possibilities there were and the less accurate it became.

Kiara walked to a car with an open door and saw two girls inside. "Hello, can I sit here?"

Kiara already knew what the girls would say and who they were, but she still had to go through the motions. This was why she hated actively predicting the future. It sucked all the joy from truly living and turned your life into a script. You knew all the bad things that could happen so you had to follow it.

"Please! Come in!" The girl with long curly brownish-red hair and a face full of freckles patted the seat next to her. "Sit, sit." She spoke with a strong Scottish accent that seemed stronger due to her excitement.

"Thanks!" Kiara walked inside and started putting her luggage in the overhead compartment.

"Are you a freshman too?" The other girl with shoulder-length dirty blonde hair got up and helped Kiara with her bags.

She spoke in a slight Irish accent that wasn't too strong. "I'm Mary Macdonald, she's Marlene McKinnon."

When they sat down Mary introduced themselves to Kiara. "I'm Kiara Budha, both my parents were just normal people. How about you two?"

Kiara showed a look of excitement and kept looking at the two girls.

"Aye Lass, ye just like us. We be what they call Muggle-born. A tad bit disrespectful if ye ask me." Marlene's brows furrowed with a bit of annoyance.

"I remember you from when we went shopping at Diagon Alley." Mary looked at Kiara's hair. "You're pretty hard to forget. You were with that girl and that brooding fellow."

Marlene showed a sudden look of realization. "His eyes be spittin venom they did, glaring at anyone who got close."

Kiara didn't try to defend Severus and sold him easily. "Yes, Severus seemed a little obsessed with Lily. If I spoke even a few words it looked like he swallowed a fly. They're friends so I didn't say anything. I wish I could have teamed up with you to have a more pleasant trip."

Mary was a bit happy when Kiara said she wanted to be with them. "Maybe we can still be together, I read the history book and it said Hogwarts was divided into houses."

"Aye, better to bide together. But ah don't know how ye get divided." Marlene clapped in excitement when she heard they could still be together. No one liked going to a strange place alone.

"The book doesn't say." Mary shook her head with a bit of disappointment.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we will find out when we get there." As though Kiara's voice was the key, as soon as her words fell the train started moving.
