Guardian of the Pacific: The Incredible Adventures of the Giant Turtle

The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.

Under bombardment

POV: Torterra

`I'm hungry,` Ruby told me a few days after we arrived on the island. I was engaged in blacksmithing at that time and completely forgot that there was nothing to eat on the island. Only poor vegetation that sprouted from the cracks between the stones.

In those couple of days, Ruby made friends with the people on the island. She willingly carried them on her back and was smart enough not to injure anyone. I enjoyed watching it.

'Why my clone was couldn't be the same?' It was such a waste of resources. If the clone was even half like Ruby, it could live peacefully in the ocean and no one would touch it, probably…

Exhaling heavily, I took Ruby to the Marshall Islands. There were many small islands in this region. The island on which there was radioactive waste was also not alone in the ocean. It was only one of the small islands in a chain of many others.

'I feel good here!' Ruby told me when I showed her the island where the radioactive waste was. This was good news because I was worried about her health. It seemed that her Titan gene allowed her to ignore the radiation, but that was all just speculation. Ruby could simply not feel the negative effect on her.

She looked like a regular turtle so I assumed she wasn't a full Titan. Anyway, I'll leave her here for a week. During this time, it will be clear how radiation affects her.

'Until I get back, don't go to this island!' It was a bit irresponsible to experiment on Ruby. Therefore, I decided that she should not approach the most infected island.

'Fine. There's nothing to eat here anyway,' Ruby replied. I slept on this island when I was sick, and it didn't have as much food as the other islands nearby. The entire ground was covered in glass and rocks, and even with my influence, plants cannot grow in such conditions. Only on the edge of the island was some greenery.

Thus, I left Ruby here and returned to my island. I had to figure out how to combine the metal with my clone's armor, and it wasn't as easy as I thought.

First I simply wrapped a piece of armor in metal and made a handle for it. I got a blunt ax or it was just a weird mace. But when I tested this "axe" and fired my fire at it, the metal just started to melt from the heat, leaving only a piece of armor.

It was the obvious result and I felt like a fool. Other attempts to add metal to a piece of armor didn't work either. Then I came up with the idea of completely abandoning metal and instead of a handle, I used a pigtail from the clone's hand.

The bone was even stronger than steel, but no matter how hard I tried to combine the bone with a piece of armor, nothing worked. After the first blow, the ax fell apart. A clone's tendons could have been used to tie everything together, but the humans left nothing of the sort, they took everything but the bones.

'What's the problem...' Kong's ax must have had other properties. Or those big gorillas tied the ax with Godzilla's tendons.

I sat on the edge of the island thinking about this problem long enough to get bored. You could have asked people for help, but it somehow affected my pride.

Finally, I had one more option that I didn't use. I can try to melt the bone and mix it with metal. I haven't done this before because I've never heard of bones melting.

It turned out to be more difficult than I thought. And the problem was that I had nothing to melt my bone in. Metal and stone melted faster than armor. So I took two long bones from the clone's arms and sandwiched a piece of armor between them.

It didn't look reliable, but at least it allowed me to see if it was possible to melt it. Taking air into my lungs, I released my fire.

RRAAAAAHHH

The stream of fire heated the piece of armor, and it quickly turned red. I tried not to touch the bones with which I held the piece of armor. I felt like I was sitting in nature and cooking barbecue.

A piece of armor glowed from the high temperature. I was approaching critical temperature. At one point I noticed a piece of armor starting to crack, which was bad because I was hoping it would start to melt and not fall apart.

As I continued to release the fire, the stone around me couldn't take it and turned red as well. My feet sank into the ground for several meters, and I had the impression that I was standing in lava. The ocean around the small artificial island on which I worked was boiling, releasing steam into the sky.

Finally, a piece of armor was exposed to high temperatures. It cracked, and some liquid began to leak out of the cracks. This liquid was so hot that when it fell on metal, it immediately sank into it, melting everything around it.

This hot liquid continued to drip and most of the armor turned to ash and scattered into the air.

'I can work with this!' I thought with satisfaction.

POV: Marshal

Sitting in my office, I watched Ruby from the monitors. It was a strange creature. A giant turtle swam from island to island and completely destroyed all vegetation. The creature even dived underwater and gnawed corals, destroying everything in its path.

The location of the islands resembled a circle, so Ruby, eating everything in her path, ended up returning to the island from which she started. But the strange thing was that a week later, when she returned to the first island, there was a lot of green again. The trees put out fresh green leaves, and various bushes and grass filled the space between the trees.

At first, Marshall thought that several hundred of these creatures could destroy the Amazon forest in a month, but now he was amazed at how quickly the plants recovered. There is no doubt that this turtle had the same impact on nature as Torterra.

The appearance of such a large turtle worried Marshal. It was obvious that people would not stop, and soon the world would be filled with strange creatures. Marshall was not interested in the impact of new creatures on nature; he was concerned about the military potential of these creatures.

The turtle was a herbivore, but what if it was a crocodile? People had enough of the Kaiju problems, and Marshal didn't want to hunt even 50-meter crocodiles. But what, how will humans be able to control these creatures?

If the 50-meter crocodile completely lost its will and turned into a robot for war, it would be a threat even to the Kaiju. And it would be much cheaper than creating Jaegers.

Imagining an army of giant sharks or eagles tearing the Kaiju, Marshal smiled. There was some potential in this, he had to admit.

However, this was not part of Torterra and Marshall's plans. Mr. Gottlieb (the mathematician from the movie) has already calculated that in 2 years the portal will be able to let two Kaiju into our world. So, the countdown has begun! Marshal knew what to do, and with the extra money he had time to create all the necessary technology to close the portal.

When the portal is closed, what were these monsters for? Giant crocodiles, which need to be fed with meat, will become a burden. It also had to be taken into account that Torterra would not approve of the way humans treated these creatures. Torterra showed this on the example of Ruby, he even forbade conducting experiments on his DNA.

Therefore, after the portal is closed, the World Council will send all its monsters to fight Torterra to destroy both sides. It was a problem that Marshall could not solve. He had no power in the matter and could not sabotage the cloning program or create new species of giants.

He could only hope that this matter would be resolved before the portal closed. Otherwise, there will be too many new monsters.

BOOM

On the monitor Marshall was watching Ruby from, he saw something explode.

BOOM

Another explosion came much closer to Ruby than before. Marshal saw Ruby start to run deep into the forest in a panic as shells kept falling and exploding in her path sending lots of fire and smoke into the air.

The marshal quickly took out his phone and called the island of Torterra.

"Major Brown is listening!"

"Is it urgent! Tell Torterra that Ruby has been attacked." The marshal gave the order to the head of the Torterra Island base. It was necessary to act quickly. If Ruby died, Torterra might reconsider his attitude towards humans, and Marshal feared that.

"Yes sir!" Major Brown immediately hung up.

Marshal could guess who the attacker was. After Torterra refused to return Ruby to the lab, Marshal spent half an hour arguing with the World Council. Their arguments were clear, but he suspected that they were simply carrying out some kind of plan to achieve their goals. They didn't need Ruby at all.

BOOM

BOOM

The monitor showed Ruby running as hard as she could, running away from the explosions. The marshal gained control of the drone and turned it around to see who was shooting. On the horizon were several warships from different countries. These ships fired their guns, sending lots of white smoke into the air.

The marshal narrowed his eyes as he watched these ships. With that kind of firepower, they could have killed Ruby quickly, but they took turns firing as if they were practicing shooting.

Watching this terrible scene, Marshal took hold of his head.

"Just don't do anything stupid..."
