The moment Alex entered the lab, Jarvis' voice could be heard greeting him with his characteristic formal and respectful tone.
Welcome Mr. Alex. (Jarvis)
Thank you, Jarvis. (Alex)
After the cordial greetings, Alex got down to work. He had already reviewed the characteristics that Jarvis and the lab had, so he had discovered that, to his misfortune, it had no information about weapons.
It was funny to think that Tony Stark's lab didn't have a single blueprint or weapon concept, but Alex understood that it must all be because he hadn't scored the highest on the cube mission that gave him this gift.
Despite the limitations, Alex wasn't depressed, because even though the lab didn't have the blueprints for weapons, that didn't mean he couldn't build them.
Not to mention that a lab with advanced mechanics, fully automated and with artificial intelligence that could somehow access information from the Marvel world, was in itself a giant cheat code.
Thanks to all this and even though Alex is not a genius like Tony Stark, he had gained certain skills and knowledge of the system in the past 10 years, so he could design a special weapon for Nami and Usopp.
The other advantage he had was that he only needed to design the weapon and provide the materials because with Jarvis' help, the manufacturing would be very simple and although materials could be a problem, that was something Alex did not lack because he had large quantities of these and not only those that could be found in the world of One Piece but in Marvel and other worlds too.
The system really hadn't made him powerful enough to be a god in this world, but it did give him many advantages, rare materials and special artifacts were just some of the rewards.
Quickly Alex began to remember Nami's specialties and the materials he had, as he planned to work on her weapon first. In the original play, she was a weather expert and used her weapon to create rain, illusions, wind, and lightning. Although she doesn't currently have those abilities, she does have a lot of knowledge about the weather, so if she is given a weapon like this she would still be able to use those abilities.
With this goal in mind, Alex set to work. Jarvis had a large database with reference to weather and with the help of that Alex began his design. Unfortunately, Alex had no idea how to create a weather staff like the one Nami used in the original work.
Alex had been born in the modern world which was more biased towards firearms, but he racked his brains trying to create something similar to what she had in the original work.
Thanks to Jarvis' help, he was able to collect a lot of metrological information and using his ingenuity found a way to create a weapon that would be suitable for Nami's qualities.
When he finished his design on Nami's weapon, Alex did not rest. He let Jarvis evaluate everything and after seeing that everything worked, he gave the order to produce it and immediately got to work on Usopp's weapon.
Usopp is one of Alex's favorite characters. Despite all of this character's flaws, Alex found him to be one of the best, because, in his eyes, Usopp is the most human character in the crew, if not perhaps in the entire One Piece series.
Well, you'd have to omit his great ability to take damage and his regenerative ability, but by all accounts, he's the most human. He's not powerful, he's funny, he's scary, and many other things besides, which is why Alex appreciated a character like him.
However, Alex felt that Oda didn't give him the best abilities. After the time jump, everyone became more powerful and gained new techniques and abilities, but Alex didn't like what Usopp got.
For Alex, Usopp should have always used guns. He is a sniper, and his marksmanship is his best skill, however, in the original work he didn't seem to take that into consideration, so Alex decided that this time he would give Usopp the weapon he deserves.
Although creating a gun was actually very easy, Alex had to create one that would fit into the world of One Piece, at least Usopp should be able to not only use it but also repair it, since Alex would not be with him all the time.
Despite all the difficulties, Alex managed to create the design and after Jarvis' approval, he sent it to production. Alex had spent most of the night working, so not wanting to get too tired he went to sleep.
Although the straw-hatted ship had a room to sleep in, Alex preferred to stay in the lab to sleep. It wasn't like he had a bed, but there was a fairly large couch that was quite comfortable.
The next morning Alex got up and asked Jarvis how the weapons development was going, but he wasn't finished yet, so he didn't bother him and left the lab.
The salty breeze hit his face as he appeared on the ship which to his surprise was already very lively despite being very early. Zoro as usual was already training and his mastery of Nen's arm had advanced by leaps and bounds since yesterday.
Luffy being the free spirit that he is was on the head of the boat enjoying the breeze, not worrying about training. Alex didn't know if he had already mastered the Second Gear or if he was just being lazy, but he didn't plan to force it.
Alex was sure that Luffy would somehow achieve his goal like in the original work. Usopp was at the back of the ship in a small space he demarcated as his workshop and was creating more grenades.
Nami and Sanji were in the kitchen. The former enjoying a coffee, while the latter was preparing breakfast. Alex could only smile at how the straw hat crew were so confident to have him on the ship without worrying about him.
Soon Sanji came out of the kitchen and shouted to everyone that the food was ready and Luffy was the first to run to eat. Alex didn't bother to be polite either, as he wanted to taste Sanji's wonderful food again.
As they ate the dynamic was lively, especially since Luffy tended to steal everyone else's food, causing everyone to get annoyed with him. Unfortunately, his trick didn't work on Alex who was able to stop Luffy from stealing his food at every attempt.
After the meal, everyone went back to their activities, Nami started assessing the travel route, Usopp continued with grenade creation and Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy trained.
Alex was surprised to see Luffy training again, but he said nothing and just watched them. After watching them train for half an hour, Alex had a serious expression on his face, while he had already noticed how much improvement ability they had, he never expected it to be so incredible.
In less than a day, they had mastered the basics of the techniques he had taught them. Noting this, Alex thought that Luffy and the others, really wouldn't face any problems until they reached the Sabaody Archipelago.
Although that was his thought, he was quite far from reality because his thinking was based on what he remembered from the original work, and did not remember that this was a completely different world. The god of rewards had changed all that.
