The Battle of Redo Part 3

In order to expand its territory, the Azkon Empire, which is currently occupying Vongord, a small nation in the far north of the Paizen continent, decided to attack Vongord, which was only in their eastern neighbor.

The higher ups thought it was a good idea. the Azkon Empire believed that by conquering Vongord, it would strengthen its position in the area and gain control over its strategic resources. Additionally, they thought that their victory would reinforce their hegemony over the Paizen continent and intimidate other nearby countries.

They misjudged Vongord, which is why they were wrong. Although the Azkon Empire had been at war for a full year, it had only been able to conquer a portion of the nation, but Azkon Empire got a plan.

Operation Penguin Blockade is a campaign in which the Azkon use their airships to encircle the country and force it to submit by using the impending winter as leverage.

But the other nations are supplying the country, so they've got to stop it; they need to break their trade routes. Vongord is using three trade routes: the port of Garrera on the north, the city of Ornt on southeast of the country, and the city of Redo on the south.

They first attack the port of Garrera and the city of Redo, Ornt was very far away from the front so they can't attack it, the attack on Garrera hasn't start yet, but on Redo the invasion was already happening.

However, on Redo, things are not going so well; they are being pushed back, and the Vongordians are here to sweep them off of their cherished city with the dragonriders of which they are so proud.

The Azkon Empire soldiers are retreating in Redo, they can't fight anymore those dragonriders are demolishing them, their only hope was the berserker they got.

An elite group of soldiers known as berserkers is trained to kill any soldier they come across. Since they only had one berserker, because the others was still on the airship, they only used him when the Azkon soldiers finally encircled the Redo city's central area.

And when that time comes, they'll use the cannons close to the mountains to the east of Redo City to launch him. They usually do this on an airship, but this time they use the mountains instead because Redo City has anti-aircraft turrets.

They will make the berserker wear a metal armor to protect him from the damage when he lands on the target area. It's been an hour now since they launched the berserker, and they are ordering him to retreat, but there's no response coming.

Fortunately for the Azkon soldiers, their own dragonriders are coming to save them, but Vongord dragonriders are really strong; they didn't stand a chance, and the whole fight was a massacre.

The Azkon dragonriders got annihilated quickly, so the Azkon soldiers immediately ran toward the entrance of the city, and that's where they held, thinking they still might have a chance of winning.

The massive amount of smoke that the dragon fire breaths produced is dissipating. The Azkon soldiers position themselves, but when the smoke clears, all they can see is the dead berserker.

They were in a panic because they thought no one would ever come to their aid again, but when they saw the airship approaching, their hope was instantly restored. Relief washed over them as they realized that help had finally arrived.

The airship was immediately attacked by the remaining anti-aircraft turrets and dragonriders, taking some minor but not severe damage. To assist their soldiers, the airship cannons fired all of their berserkers onto the battlefield.

They also released every dragonrider they had in the hopes that by deploying every dragonrider they had and concentrating them all on those Vongordian dragonriders, they could finally overcome their air superiority.

The Vongordian soldiers and dragonriders are getting overwhelmed; they are getting pushed back again. The airship's arrival turns the tides of the battle.

But the Vongordians didn't surrender; they continued fighting the Azkon soldiers despite the overwhelming odds. The Vongordian dragonriders focused on the berserkers on the ground instead of the enemy dragonriders.

They took them down one by one. Those Berserkers are only good at fighting ground units, but when it comes to dragons, their swords are no match for those fiery breaths.

They still faced a dozen hostile dragonriders, but the captain of the Vongordian dragonriders had a plan. The Vongordian dragonriders sent all of their members to the city's center to lure the Azkons dragonriders, who went there to fight them off unaware that the area was home to anti-Air turrets.

Numerous Azkons dragonriders were killed by those anti-air turrets, but the Azkon soldiers on the ground destroyed them right away.

The Vongordian dragonriders shot down every Azkon soldier they came across as they flew toward the destroyed anti-Air turrets.

They destroyed an entire company of Azkon soldiers in the space of a single blink of an eye, and then they fled back into the air.

The Azkon dragonriders are still following them, and at such great speed too. They tried too many times to shake them off, but nothing worked. There are no anti-air turrets left anymore, so they finally decided to fight the enemies instead of running.

While on the ground, the Vongordian soldiers are pushing the Azkon soldiers back because the Vongordian Dragonriders fire breath runs have killed many of their enemies.

They tried to retake the walls in the central area of Redo City, but those artillery fires on the mountain are holding them down. Fortunately for them, they have snipers that can shoot those artillery fires on the mountain.

The artillery fire has gone down, so the Vongordian soldiers are taking back the walls to hold the enemy infantries coming to retake them, while the snipers keep shooting those cannons on the mountain to make sure they can't fire back.

The fighting in Redo City finally comes to an end after two hours of nonstop action when an unexpected explosion occurs in the airship cockpit.

"What the hell happen?"
