Chapter 2

As usual, Jakarta is hot and dusty. Even though the capital of Indonesia had moved to Borneo twenty years ago. But, this city is always crowded; this is even worse than before, but the atmosphere of Jakarta feels much better and more pleasant recently. It's all because many people are crazy about droids, a new game that has fascinated many people over the past ten years. But unfortunately, not everyone can get the droid they want. Because this droid, can't be sold on the open market or in the app store.

Jaka had just arrived at the Baro Silver Tower, and as soon as he got off the bus, he saw thousands of humans lining up to enter the building. They all came to get access to droid games from the Baro Mortal Engine company, and for the first time in ten years, Baro Mortal Engine wanted to share droid games for free with anyone who want a droid from his company, including strangers. They intend to hold tournaments with prizes ranging from hundreds of thousands to billions of rupiah after giving away the free droid.

Jaka entered the Baro Tower along with thousands of other people in hopes of getting this droid and being able to participate in this droid game tournament next year and win the prize. It's just that in addition to winning the prize and getting the droid, Jaka wants to meet Bagas Nataya, the man who never ages, which makes him curious as to why he is still alive today while his grandfather, who was a friend of Bagas, was aging and died.

Choky, the host, tried to quell the commotion of hundreds of people who kept talking.

"Guys, thank you for coming," Choky said, but his voice couldn't drown out everyones. All those who came were too talkative, imagining the droids they would have, and only Jaka and a few others noticed. Perhaps only ten of those thousands of people noticed Choky.

It was captured by an AI camera owned by the Baro Mortal Engine company. Bagas Natanya observed the ten young people from his study at the top of the Baro Silver Tower. The thirty-year-old ordered one of his men to take the ten teenagers seen on camera to SEAM.

"Those to be tested, whether they are worthy of the Baro Mortal Engine droid or not."

The worker nodded and then vanished behind the door, leaving Bagas staring at the faces of ten teenagers who appeared to be very focused on watching Choky, and one of the teenagers caught his eye because he resembled Adinata, one of the researchers he has worked with.

"Very interesting!" The man smiled a smirk, and the longer he watched the teenager, the more interested he became. And using technology (905) developed by his company to recognize a person's face down to his family background, Bagas tries to figure out who the young man is.

"Shit!!" !!" Bagas cursed angrily because (905) the newly created AI had not performed as expected.

Jaka and ten other teenagers were taken to the SEAM room, the room on the 7th floor that was a place to test what droids were appropriate for the players. A middle-aged man wearing a black suit from a well-known brand is their guide.

"Hello all, my name is Albert. Today, I will be your guide," he said. "Welcome to the Baro Mortal Engine Tower."

"Are we going to get the droid soon?"

Albert looked at the person who asked; the one who asked turned out to be a teenager about twelve years old, and what was interesting was that he came by himself.

"Of course, you will get it, hence you are taken to SEAM."

"SEAM?"

"Yes, we will get to SEAM soon, and this is where we will test you all so that we know what kind of droid is appropriate for you."

"Test?"

"Are we going to get a math test?"

"Mathematics? "Hahaha, of course not," Albert said, laughing. "There is a more suitable test to find which droid is suitable for you because you can't choose the droid you want, but the droid who will choose who deserves it."

Hearing Albert's remarks, the ten young people were surprised. They didn't expect that to get a game they would have to do a test in such a way.

"If you can tell, what kind of tests do we have to do?" asked Jaka.

Albert, like his boss, Bagas, looked at Jaka with a questioning look. Jaka's face reminded Albert of Adinata, one of the key researchers who was finally able to help Baro Mortal Engine successfully create their droid.

As soon as the elevator opened, Albert was followed by Jaka and nine new colleagues into an all-white room with dozens of robots, busy at work. They look like ordinary human workers. They are busy with various documents, files, data on the computer, and others. As soon as Albert, Jaka, and others entered, all the robots immediately stopped working; they stood up straight like they were saying hello before finally returning to work after one of the human-like robots immediately smiled as soon as they saw Jaka and the others.

"Welcome to SEAM, guys. I'm Nindy, an AI robot that will help Mr. Albert test you guys," She said.

"We will be tested by Ro...."

"Nindy, sir," said the robot. Nindy smiles coldly at one of the young men in the blue shirt behind Jaka. Nindy, the AI robot, does not seem to like being called a robot."Although I am not a human being, I have a name."

"Hmmm, Nindy, Mr. Albert, I'm sorry, I have something to ask."

"What's that, Febby?"

Febby was surprised because she had never mentioned her name to anyone; how could Nindy know it?

"Don't worry, Febby. Remember when you walked into this tower? You were asked to enter your fingerprints."

Febby, Jaka, and others nodded.

"It's the fingerprints that make us know your name, date of birth, and ethnicity, but the technology is not perfect, and that's all we know about you guys right now."

"Do we have to give our data to get that droid?"

"Of course not. Your fingerprints are more than enough because all we need is your identity so we can find out where the droids from Baro are."

"Why do you guys have to know it?"

"Do we have to pay?"

"You guys will get the droid for free."

"Then why do you want to know our identity?"

"To be able to contact you, if there are certain events held by Baro. Because Baro Mortal Engine creates a community and special benefits for its players."

"Advantage?"

"You'll find out, once you get the droid. Because, we can't divulge secrets to people who don't have droids."

"Is there anything else to ask?"

Jaka, Febby, and others shook their heads in unison.

"In that case, we can start the test. Welcome to SEAM, guys!"
