Chapter 19 : A trip back home

I wiped away my sweat as I was finally done with the house cleaning. There wasn't much I guess but it was a trouble to find the small pieces of glass on the floor, some even pricked my fingers...

I went to put away the cleaning supplies and went to aid my fingers that got cut from finding the glass. After aiding my fingers, I went to get freshened up so I can get ready to get to school.

When I left Zeke's house, it was just 5.30 am and now it's 7 am, school starts at 7.30 am, I didn't know cleaning the house would take such a long time...

But I will make it right? I thought as I checked the wall clock, I better get my stuff done before I am really late for school.

Once I was done with my things, I went straight out the door. I glanced at my phone to check the time, dang I didn't know I took tat long to prepare my things...It was already 7.17am.

"Great I'm definitely late..." I sped up my pace and hurried my way to school. At most, I might just get detention for being late or maybe just a warning, well I'm never late for school except maybe today...

Once I entered the school, the bell rang, which meant that it was the cut off time and it would be considered late to whoever entered class now.

Knowing that there will be no chance for me, I slowly made my way to class and opened the door, to be greeted with a stern looking face of our home room teacher.

"Why are you late today?"

"I arrived just on the dot..."

"But didn't you hear the bell ring just now?"

"Yea I did but-"

"Stop giving me excuses, since this is your first time, I'll let you off the hook but no next times!" My face brightened up, I know the teachers will understand~!

"Thank you!" I happily went back to my seat as the attendance marking continued. Unexpectedly, Zeke wasn't in class which was weird, he would never skip lessons nor be late for school... 

"Hey, have you seen Zeke today?" I leaned back, turning to look at Matteo and asked.

"No, I haven't seen him since I entered class." 

"Okay, thank you..." Matteo hasn't seen him since this morning...could something have happened to him or is he sick or is he late?

"Has anyone seen Zeke? Why is he not in class?" Our homeroom teacher asked the class but everyone shook their heads. Where is he...

"Clover since your his seatmate, go find him around the school, if his around. If his not in class just return back."

"O-okay..." I stood up from my  seat and got out of the class to go find Zeke. Where could he be at...the rooftop, the cafeteria, the library or the infirmary? Those are the places I could think of now.

"Let's just start from the rooftop..." I mumbled, sighing as I looked at the bunch of stairs in front of me. If it's for him, I won't mind...I started to climb up the stairs till I reached the rooftop, I hoped to see him there but he was no where seen.

"Going down the stairs is easier than going up the stairs gosh..." I complained as I went back down the stairs and went to the cafeteria. The school really needs to get a elevator up in here...

"His not here..." I scanned the whole cafeteria but there was not a single person there, of course at this time, students should be in their classes having lesson.

I went to the library and infirmary, I asked the nurse to check whether if he was laying down in the beds of the room but he was not in those places either.

Noe my last guess is that Zeke's not in school then, I slowly made my way back to class, passing by the hallways.

I stopped in my tracks as my ears caught something coming from one of the classrooms. Nah, I might be just hearing things...I took some steps forward but heard the sound again.

I took a turn and walked towards where the sound came from. It can't be a ghost right...? I peeked into the one of classroom that the sound came from. I gasped, widening my eyes but quickly covered my mouth instead.

I ducked down behind the door as the two figures in the classroom turned to look at my direction. Crap...have I been found out? 

"Wait, why should I be scared..." I thought before standing back up and slamming the door open loudly.

"What do you want little girl?! Can't you see that we are having our time here? Now shoo shoo!" I ignored the girl's words and walked over to her, shoving her harshly aside.

I pulled Zeke's shirt back down and looked at him in the eyes as he gave me his cold stare. It wasn't a situation I would have imagined, happened.

"What are you doing here? Let's go back to class." I grabbed his wrist and tried dragging him out the random classroom but that girl stopped me by the arm.

"Hands off my boyfriend!" Boyfriend? I looked at Zeke and turned back to her. I grabbed her by her cheeks and looked at her.

"Ahh...your boyfriend? I'm sorry, you must have been mistaken but his mine and..." I looked at her from head to toe and smirked.

"You definitely need a change of clothes miss...you don't have to go walk around the school trying to seduce boys looking like a stripper...Now if you'll excuse me." I let go off her cheeks and shoved her aside, taking Zeke along with me back to class. 

All the way back to class, we didn't exchange any words with each other, not even a look. I let go of Zeke's hands and opened the door, walking in with my head down.

"Ah, I see your back with Zeke thank you Clover!" I gave our science teacher a small smile and without any words, I walked back to my seat.

The teacher lectured Zeke for a while before letting him back to his seat. I took out my books and stared at it blankly, my mind was thinking about what I saw back at that classroom.

There's no way Zeke would not be in class for that but even so why would he be with that girl in the first place...his hands were even on her waist...

Thinking more about it makes me feel in the blue. Why did he do that? Was it because I made him feel so annoyed at me that he had to do that to show me how much he hates me? Or is he trying to make me hate him...

I peeked over at Zeke, unexpectedly both our eyes met so I quickly looked away. I slipped my hand into my bag and took out a grape flavoured lollipop and slid it to his table.

"I don't know what happened between you and her but I know you won't do anything more than that right...?" I muttered out softly, not daring to look at him, I didn't want him to see the expression I'm making right now...it hurts...
