Desperate To Live

*Maybe my soulmate died. Idk. Or maybe I don’t have a soul* - Iamnotshane. Jayden lives by only two rules. Rule 1: Never fall in love. Rule 2: Always remember rule one. He has always followed this principle after learning that he has stage four cancer and has only a few months to live. Jayden chose not to hurt any women as long as they did not fall in love with him because he was a cold handsome playboy who carries a deadly aura, but adored by all. His gray eyes were ravishing, and he had exquisite flawless skin. He was adored by everyone until he met a girl named Freda. Freda was a twenty-nine-year-old autistic patient, and Jayden was twenty-seven years old cancer patient. On their first encounter, Jayden, who enjoys being around women, sees Freda as a red flag due to her disability and her choice of clothing. He had sworn to himself that he would never run into Freda again, but fate couldn’t be more cooperative as they continued to bump into each other. Due to an unexpected situation, Freda has no other option but to start working in Jayden’s mansion. Freda pledged that she would fix the playboy’s heart so that he would fall in love with someone because she sees no reason why he avoids being in a relationship, but little did she know that she would fall for him instead. “But what if she discovers she is in love with a cancer patient? Will she suppress her emotions or work to make Jayden’s life as happy as possible before he dies?” “Will love save the day when death calls?” This book evokes a wide range of emotions.

My heart was just stolen.

Freda's eyes were wide open as she stared at him, completely taken aback.

She had no idea he was going to pin her against the wall because it caught her off guard.

Freda's heart was beating rapidly, and she was going to panic because Jayden was leaning in closer.

She knew deep down that yelling wouldn't get her out of her current situation. "I don't want to kiss you, Jayden, so please lean away," she pleaded, hoping he would listen to her words.

Jayden grinned. "Hmm, but I was wondering if you have an extra heart. Mine was just stolen," he said, leaning away from her lip.

She assumed it was all over and that he would let go of her hands, but she was mistaken. Jayden was getting a lot of things arranged for her.

He winked at her as their faces were now only a few inches apart. "Little lamb, I'm unwell," he declared, his voice sounding like a baby's.

Freda observed his face and realized that everything he was doing was an act and that he wasn't unwell in reality.

As she arched her brows, she decided to play along. "What symptoms do you have right now, CEO Jayden?"

Because of Freda's comment, he smirked. Jayden bit his bottom lip, his gray eyes fixed on hers. "Hey, can you help me go to the doctor? My heart keeps skipping a beat when I'm with you," he said, his voice low, sensual and hypnotic enough to get any lady wet, but not Freda.

She was still perplexed as to why he was saying such ridiculous things to her.

"I can't fetch a doctor for you Jayden. Doctors work to treat patients, and you don't happen to be one. Also, I'd greatly appreciate it if you let go of my hand because I have to head back home. It's getting late, and I have to arrange my stuff for work tomorrow." Freda said.

She was desperate to get out of the circumstances she was in. "Why are you playing hard to get, little lamb?" Jayden asked, and then he let go of Freda.

She breathed and wiped her wrist before pushing her goggles close to her eyes.

Why was he sounding so inebriated?

"Seriously, why are you playing so hard to get?" he asked again, this time caressing her cheek with his index finger. "So soft," he murmured, leaning in closer and kissing her on the cheek.

His frigid kiss on Freda's cheek immobilized her for five seconds, after which her brain became alert and she pushed him back with full power.

Freda lacks the strength to push Jayden to the point where he collapses on the floor.

Currently. Jayden simply stumbled backwards while smirking.

It was a diabolical grin, not a delightful one. "I don't bite, you know… unless it's necessary." He said, both hands rose aloft, and following his sentence, he removed the bond used to keep his hair intact.

Jayden pushed all of his hair backwards with his hands as it fell over his face.

He appeared more attractive now that his hair was down and he wasn't wearing his shirt, exposing his chest. His eyes glowed with lust.

He was aroused!

"I'll offer you two options right now, little lamb: either you allow me to take you to bed or you lose me forever."

"I'm going with option two, Jayden: Lose you forever."

He licked his bottom lips while caressing his chin with his palm. He was attempting to be sexy to Freda, but he was far from it.

"Jeez. Stop playing hard to get, little lamb. I know you want to kiss me, so come over here," he urged seductively, his gaze sweeping over Freda's entire body.

She breathed out. "I don't want to kiss you Jayden, and a kiss is a touch or caress with the lips as a gesture of affection, sexual desire, or greeting. I can see lust in your eyes, but I'm not going to reciprocate it. Also, stop calling me little lamb since that's not my name." She proclaimed before walking away, returning to the couch where she had been seated before and retrieving her backpack.

Jayden laughed as he observed her bravery. "Do you have a name, or may I refer to you as mine?"

Freda ignored him since she knew he was tormenting her. "Little lamb, the fact that you're ignoring me makes you appear sexy, and if being sexy were a crime, you'd be convicted."

Freda exhaled as she turned to face him, her brows furrowed.

Jayden was trailing Freda, so the fact that she had just turned around provided him with an opportunity to place his hands on her and violently shoved her.

Freda was protected thanks to the long couch behind her. She landed on the couch and Jayden grabbed Freda's shoulder, preventing her from fleeing, as he caged her with his body. She la

He caressed her shoulder and smiled, showing his dazzling teeth.

"Your skin is so lovely and smooth; I truly want to kiss you," he said quietly, his breath harsh and his eyes solemn.

Freda was motionless.

He was about to seal his lips with Freda when she shoved her head to the right.

Jayden smirked and leant to the side where she had shoved her head.

His lips were a few inches away from hers once more, and just as they were going to meet, she pushed her head to the left.

He smirked.

His gaze got solemn, and he proceeded to kiss her lips, forcing Freda to lift her knee and strike him on the stomach.

She didn't use coercion, but her small motion caused Jayden to immediately pass out and collapse on her body.

She counted three in her brain to calm herself down because her puzzle box couldn't be used because of the unpleasant circumstance she was in.

Freda carefully slipped down the couch, leaving Jayden alone on the couch, and then she walked away.
