Dead Dreams: Prologue

The story starts from the year 2037, September had just begun. Everyone was going about their daily lives, some rushing to their jobs, children to schools, young adults spending their time at local coffee shops. It was a bright and normal morning yet the day did not end the same.

Around 10:45 the sky suddenly got dark. It became known as the "September Eclipse." Even though it was 11 in the morning the sky turned pitch black. When the sky turned back to normal, reports started coming in.

Around 7% of the population passed out during that period in the middle of everything. Some were taken to the hospital but nothing was wrong with them. The doctors said that it just looked like they were in deep slumber, but wouldn't wake up. Some accidents took place. 13 people died that day for various reasons, such as passing out in the middle of the street, while driving, and hitting the floor too hard among others. But the others regained consciousness the very next day at the exact same time.

people were confused not knowing what happened. Many discussions were held but barely anything came of it.

_ 3 months had passed _

Strange things started to happen. The number of unexplainable incidents was quickly rising. People began to see mysterious "creatures" all over the globe. "They had escaped from the strong imaginative minds of the creative ones," says a news reporter. The reporter was later mocked but turned out he wasn't wrong.

People noticed- of the people who had passed out most of them were involved in creative fields. Artists, writers, musicians you name it.

The 2038 report shows us that the single creative mind had created a minimum of 2 and not more than 5 such creatures. But there were some created from the darkest depths of their minds because of their fear, guilt, anxiety, hatred, and pain among other things. They could not be controlled and are very aggressive in nature. Most of the aggressive creatures ran away from their creators and when in contact would cause the creator themselves to have an attack and in most cases pass out. They do not harm the creators but do harm anything but them. 2038 report also shows us that these aggressive ones were larger in number. People knew the reason why though, because of a saying that every person of the new world knows: ⊙THE CREATIVE ADULT IS THE CHILD WHO SURVIVED⊙

Creativity always had its risks.

By surviving they had to go through hardships, thus creating these creatures in their minds. But they not only created these creatures that cause havoc but some were created from happiness, pleasure, will to survive, determination, patience etc. It was quickly revealed that these "creatures" could be controlled if one has the will. These could be controlled only by the creators. They acted more like pets and would protect them from other creatures. They do not harm anything unnecessarily. But as expected the other 90% of the population did not see this from a straight line. Some part of the population adapted quickly as some creative adults were living among them. But more and more people were quick to go against it. They started saying things among the lines of "What guarantee do we have that they won't turn against us?, we can't just accept this. the only solution is to kill the people who created these monsters in the first place."

Yes, they did have a point. The creatures did them harm and started chaos, but the creators themselves also tried to protect the normal people. The council got involved from the start and also started to train some of them so that the country could be controlled. But everything changed after 'that incident.'
