Why?!

On Liam's order, the humans brandished their weapons, and started slaughtering the Goblins that were near them, slowly moving in to the ones that took shelter at the back.

It was a one sided blood festival with the humans being the participants of the festival, and the Goblins? The object with which the blood is poured out from.

They showed no mercy, hesitation, or remorse as every Goblin fell before their sword, cutting down heads, arms, stabbing the sword through them, and many more of such heinous acts committed on the Goblins.

Getha and her mother, were copped deeper in, making them the last batch of Goblins that would fall before the sword of the humans.

She had Getha wrapped around her body like she was shielding her vision from seeing the ongoing massacre.

After a considerable number of killing was done, the humans got to the last batch of Goblin which was Getha and her mother.

Getha struggled within the bondage of her mother's arm, and poked her eye out, through her mother's armpit.

She saw the sword being raised up, and descending on her mother at a slow pace.

Getha captured every scene, every moment, and every actions of the sword as it slowly came down on her mother, slashing her back with a little bit of the blood splattering on Getha's face.

Her eyes were wide open, unable to control it nor take it away, she felt her mother slowly slip out of her grasp, and just like her father had done, fall down to the ground before giving up the ghost.

She silently and motionlessly watched it all unveil before her very eyes, the total annihilation of her tribe, and her defenseless to do anything to stop it from happening.

"only the kid is remaining".

One of the humans moved closer to Getha who kneeled there with her expression still in a dazed.

The human, effortless pierced the sword through Getha's shoulder, closer to her neck, and used it to push her body to the wall before withdrawing the sword from her body.

Getha without letting out so much as a scream, fell to the ground with excess blood dripping out from her shoulder, and her face still opened in disbelief.

"Lord Liam, we have confirmed their condition, they are all dead".

One of the human came over to where Liam stood at to inform him that his order has been carried out successfully.

"tell the troops to pull back".

The human that had just received Liam's order, immediately acted on it by calling the attention of the human troops and having them all move out of the cave in an organized order.

They had all gone out of the cave, and now standing at the entrance with Liam In the lead, facing the cave.

Liam reached out his right hand, and was handed over a torch stick with its head still burning.

"burn to smithereens you damned monsters".

He brought down the torch stick, taking it close to the liquid that has its trace from the cave entrance down to the inner part of it.

They have set the fire absorbing liquid down before going in to kill the Goblins, with the intention of setting their cave ablaze and burning their bodies along with it after they are done killing them.

The lit torch stick made contact with the flammable liquid, and instantly ignited a fire that traces down the liquid to the inside of the cave, bringing about an explosion that blew apart the top of the cave, rendering the insides exposed, all covered in fire.

"that will teach any of the other heretics to know when to obey the rules".

Liam's job was done, and he turned to make his exit with the troops following behind him.

.

.

"why?!"

The wound had gotten deep, but have yet to deprive her of her life.

She had her back rested to the wall, her legs spread on the ground, her eyes faced to the front with her left shoulder still bleeding.

In her position, Getha was struggling to grasp for breath with the intensity of the fire slowly burning off the nearby oxygen and making its way toward her.

Her eyes fell on the ground that has the bodies of her kinsmen littered everywhere.

"why?!"

Their bodies were not in good condition as most of them were missing a limb before having their last breath taken from them.

Her eyes rummaged the ground for the body of her father, and could not find it due to how the bodies are stacked on top of each other.

"why?!"

Getha turned her gaze over to her side to look at her mother who had laid dead after being cut with a sword from the back.

Her race, her tribe, they were all obliterated with only a single onslaught, and she will also be following them shortly.

It was either she died from bleeding out of her shoulder, or she ends up surviving the bleeding long enough for the raging fire to get to her, it was one of those choices.

"why?!"

Getha turned her gaze away from her mother, and raised her head up, looking at the sky that was now visible after the top of the cave was blasted away by the explosion.

"why?!"

Her eyes looking solemnly at the clear sky that seems to be mocking her for the death of her tribesmen.

"why?!"

Before she knew what was happening, tears were starting to form inside her eyes, dripping down her cheek in slow motion.

"why?!"

Getha reminisced the moments she has had with her tribesmen, searching her memory for any wrongdoings they might have committed that would warrant them being treated in this manner.

"why?!"

She indeed searched, but could not find anything to justify the humans cause for doing this to them.

"why?!"

The humans, claims that the sin her tribe committed, is being devoted to the God of destruction, but that was not a sin to her tribesmen.

"why?!"

The belief of her tribesmen, is that they were created by the very God of destruction, so was it not only proper that they serve that which they believe to be their creator?

"why?!"

Getha could not understand, she could not understand. She could not understand why they have been condemned by another because of what they believe in.

She could not understand, and was no longer willing to understand.

There was now only one reasoning manifesting in Getha's mind, and that was the desire to seek Vengeance!
