Daede directed his fish to veer completely to the side and officially ignore the plagued beach.
As he continued in the same manner as the previous days, he enjoyed the little bit of peace he had.
The fish did encounter a few hostile sea creatures but considering the depth this fishy came from. Most were easily scared off.
Daede was loving the studying on a cruise ship vibe that he somewhat manages to create.
As the days pass and no real signs of civilization appear. He makes the decision to not land right away.
"It would be a waste of this perfect ship to not scout my future pad. Not many get this option when getting hit by the truck of destiny kun. For now onwards my valiant Rock explorer!"
Yes, with the days passing a name was given to the poor fish. The day it was named:" The Rock Explorer"
The fish itself rolled its eyes when it realized it was named.
Odd thing a consciousness space, fishy knew what was going down as he was literally right next to Daede's wisp of overpowering mind power as he was steering the ship.
As time passed, Daede was starting to understand the crazy size of this continent as the Rock Explorer was by no means a slow turtle.
It was akin to a shark and streamlined with condensed muscles and sharp fins. It was a nautical bullet.
Yet the landmass was ridiculous. As giant ridges, mountains and jagged rocks littered the sides a beach was the last thing you would see.
Daede was even a tiny bit regretful of not trying out the plagued beach but then again if even his 2 + lives were screaming at him not to, he wouldn't know what to trust.
As more days go by, the space rock carrying the ex space royalty of jelly was hard at work studying.
The more he did the wiser he got.
The language of power was an amazing study to him. If one were to compare, it made studying it unbelievably fun. Imagine reading a book and the words had actual power to generate images in your mind versus you doing it manually like on Earth.
One needed a high soul power to achieve this with runes.
They did more than represent their meaning, they created meaning and complex ones at that.
On Earth, Daede would need a powerful pc to do something remotely similar but here within the confines of this rock. He understood how much his mind had grown. It was amazing.
He badly wanted to test out some of the theory and get some real life data but he couldn't as he knew that he barely understands the depth of what he is learning.
This was the wise thing as casually testing a language of power with a broken system to use it would not be the same as dropping your sword on your foot while swinging it for practice.
The Rock Explorer somewhat understanding his hijacker's goal from the weeks spent together proposed an idea.
How?
By squirming and conveying the meaning as best as he could through the shared space they had for their mind.
Daede was surprised but he welcomed the proposition.
He relinquished control and kept only the tendril connected to the ship's eyesight. The fish finally regained control after what felt like an eternity and was jubilant as no creature appreciates that sort of takeover.
Feeling its body again, it twitched and started moving at thrice the original speed Daede was using. This shocked the small stoned human jelly
"You what the? " Daede was surprised yet the fish felt this and was a little smug.
What does one expect from an ex-human ex-jelly now rock using mind-powered tendrils to hijack a living organism?
Failure to say the least but Daede shocks the universe again with his quick thinking.
However, Daede was pleased as now that the Rock explorer was automated and knew his destination, he was even freer to just study while enjoying the scenery.
"Ah, I really want a body..." Daede mumble one quiet night as the Rock explorer zoomed across the sea at ridiculous speeds.
As such, more days continued to pass.
"BREAKTHROUGH!!!!" Daede yelled in excitement which almost gave the Rock Explorer an engine failure.
" With this, I've deciphered 5 symbols and hehe because of my genius they are core symbols!" He felt proud.
The study that took so long was starting to pay off. As Daede was originally going through the study of the information he had gained. He had discovered that some symbols repeated a lot and were even parts of larger sections when describing complex ideas.
This gave him the thought that he was dealing with the core symbols of the language. With this, he focused mainly on those to find their meaning.
He had discovered the first during his second year at the bottom of the sea.
It was water-related and he practically believed it meant water. Because he was going off instinct, conjecture and basically improvising the whole damn time. He only got a sense of feeling that he was right and no certainty.
This bothered him to no end. Yet he knew, he couldn't be impatient.
A civilization as grand as the one he believes this rock and knowledge belonged to couldn't be so easy even for an overpowered mind like his.
One may wonder how he even remotely understood the origins of the rock as well as whatever little information he understood to be a "system of power" as he described. It wasn't all too complicated at the end of the day.
When one is faced with the unknown, especially humans. They do one simple thing, make sh*t up. It's a sad but realistic truth. The only reason he even considered the information to contain a system of power was based on the simple truth that all the information was derived from runes and the runes themselves were a form of power.
Going further down the rabbit hole, if a civilization used these powerful letters to make up their foundation as well as their civilization, it could be interpreted as a system of power derived from the runes themselves.
With several more guesses and some "fantasy" thinking, one can get some basic understanding of the knowledge presented through a process of elimination.
The word "guesstimate" is Daede's friend... and a close one at that.
