Chapter 78 - Around the Battlefield
"Chwee!!" A goblin screeched as he brandished his sword at the elve before him.
Just as he was about to slice the elve, a sword slashed at the arm holding his sword.
"Aghheee!" The goblin screamed in pain as he dropped his sword to the ground.
As if it was planned, another sword quickly slashed at the muscles holding his knee together, prompting the goblin to fall down. The elve who was being targeted by the goblin finished him off by decapitating him with his sword.
Just as he decapitated the goblin, another goblin jumped out of the bush from behind him ready to avenge his fellow goblin.
However, it seems that it won't go as planned as one of the other two elves got in his way and blocked his attack. The other one quickly followed through and stabbed his sword right into the heart of the goblin.
"Thanks." The elve who almost died said in gratitude to his other teammates.
"What do you mean thanks? It's what we're supposed to do after all." The elve who blocked the sword said with a smile.
"Leave the thanking for later. Three goblins are coming up!" The leader of the three said as he quickly recovered his stance and prepared for the enemy.
"Yes!" The two quickly ended their short exchange and prepared as well.
The three elves then fought with the other three goblins and defeated them after some work.
The elves were drilled to work with one another to efficiently make quick work of their enemies. While the goblins they fought lacked coordination and teamwork with one another allowing the elves to easily deal with them.
As the three finished the three goblins, the leader of the three took a quick look at the situation around the battlefield.
There were still a number of goblins but it is slowly being dwindled down. Amongst the group of elves fighting with the goblins, a pair of elves caught the attention of the elve.
They were decapitating goblins left and right with tremendous speed. When the other was exposed to danger the other would quickly come and dispatch the said danger.
"Wow." Was the word that came out of the elve's mouth after seeing them fight.
"Right? Their majesties are really something."
"Hey! What are you guys staring at? Goblins are coming up!" The other elve said to their leader with a smirk, snapping him out of his reverie.
The leader of the three, quickly realized that he just got reprimanded the same way he reprimanded them earlier.

Avery pulled his sword out of the goblin that he just killed. He glanced around and saw three goblins coming at him at the same time.
He ignored the two on his sides and went for the one in front of him. He dodged the sword and quickly retaliated by backstabbing the goblin precisely at his spine.
The other two who were nearing him were quickly shot with [Mana Bullet] at their knee joints which sent them tumbling forward.
Avery headed for the other one and made quick work of the goblin lying down.
While Yue, the one who shot the [Mana Bullet], launched a [Fireball] at the other one.
Their work wasn't done as another 6 goblins were heading their way.
Yue brandished her hands together and prepared the spell [Great Fireball]. A hot ball of flames slowly formed between her hands. After preparing the spell, she quickly launched them into the incoming goblins.
The [Great Fireball] flew into the air and struck right into the center of the 6 goblins. Four goblins, who were right at the epicenter of the explosion were quickly devoured by the flames of the spell.
While the two at the sides were lucky enough to jump out in the nick of time. However, their luck ended there as Avery appeared, and ended their lives before they could even celebrate their survival.
"Big brother! The mages holding the goblin leader are about to deplete their mana in a couple of minutes!" Yue shouted after observing the conditions of the elven mages at the distance.
"Alright! We'll make our way there and capture him while he's exhausted."
"Okay, Big brother!"
Avery and Yue then switched their direction and headed to the goblin leader. As they did so, they made sure to eliminate any goblin they can, along the way.
Yue would distract and mess with the posture of the goblins while Avery killed them with clear efficiency.
Sometimes, Avery would calculate his positioning to manipulate and direct the goblins to move into one big clump. Once he did so, Yue would send a barrage of spells that would make quick work on all of them.
At other times, some goblins would realize that they were no match for Avery and redirected their attention towards Yue. However, Avery would end them before they can even move away from him. When he can't do so, Yue would still be able to fight the goblins coming at her as she launched her barrage of [Mana Bullets] at them.
After some time, the elven mages ran out of mana to cast spells, just in time for Avery and Yue to finally arrived right in front of the goblin leader.
The goblin leader was kneeling on his leg as his chest heavily heaved in and out. Its eyes were red from anger, as he dangerously glared at the elves in front of him.
It tried to stand up only for it to fall to its knees again.
Yue glanced at Avery and asked, "Big broth–"
"Chwee!!!" The goblin leader roared in anger, interrupting what Yue was about to say. Yue then launched a small fireball right into its face, thus shutting him up.
"As I was saying… what do we do with him?" Yue asked as she slightly tilted her head to the right. Her expression while asking seems so innocent that you wouldn't believe that she did that just now.
Avery just slightly shook his head in amusement and simply asked "You didn't kill him right?"
"Hehe.. of course not, big brother said he wanted something from him."
"Anyway, let's deal with this guy as soon as possible, the battle is nearing its end."
