A handsome man with long ears that depicted his race limped towards the balcony as blood flowed down from his chest. The injury looked severe and seemed like his life was coming to an end. He stopped walking and stood as he watched the empire he built from the ground burn into ashes. He felt pain looking at his surroundings but the relief and yearning he felt was greater than the pain he felt.
"I can finally see you again, Little Yue." The man said as he wistfully gazed at the sky covered with smoke. He wanted to see his sister again. He loved her as a man and she loved her back, but he was so weak and simple minded that he did not admit his feelings for her until it was too late.
His gaze fell on the strange artifact he held in his hands. The artifact has an ancient feeling into it as if it is something that has billions of history in it. It had an appearance of a hand clock with ancient runes all over it. As his focus fell upon it, a familiar box appeared in front of his eyes displaying the information about it.

Though, question marks are the only things that were written in the strange box in front of his eyes.
This was the reason why his empire was destroyed. He heard of a rumor about a strange artifact that has godly powers which can even bring the dead back to life. With this reason alone, he put all his resources into getting the artifact in an attempt to revive his sister. However, after a long arduous search he succeeded but hit a dead end as he does not know how to activate the artifact.
News about him acquiring a godly artifact spread amongst the empires in the whole Ascended Universe. Countless empires gathered in an attempt to acquire the said artifact which led to the current state of his empire. He fought till the end and succeeded but was hit by a deadly blow in the chest.
The handsome man fell to the ground with blood spreading out. The artifact fell and dropped nearby. He looked at the sky, and saw an imaginary image of his sister smiling at him.
"Finally…." The man muttered as his eyes were slowly closing as the light in his eyes started to lose its color.
What he failed to notice was that his blood seemingly reached the artifact as it absorbed the blood. The runes in the artifact start to shine in a golden color as it floats up in the sky while an unconscious humanoid soul floats out of the man's body. The artifact rotates rapidly and flies towards the humanoid soul and attaches itself to its chest. The humanoid soul then starts to shine in a golden light and warp the surrounding area seemingly like space does not exist. With a space-like distorted sound and a clock hand rapidly turning back, the humanoid soul disappears as if it did not exist in the first place.

[A/N: Hi! I am sorry but the first 10 chapters are going to be short. I wasn't really planning to go all out with this novel during that time so not much thought was put into the first 10 chaps. However, things are going to be longer from chapter 11 onwards (min of 1000 words). I'll also try to rewrite the first ten chapters to fix plotholes and explain things further.
