Chapter 6 - Marksman

Once again I was at the place where my journey at Second Life Online began.

[We meet again Yoshi of the human race] a voice said.

I turned around and saw the beautiful woman, or should I say the Goddess.

"Thanks." I smiled brightly to her, "By the way, I didn't know you were a Goddess. Sorry for the rudeness that I had shown to you." I apologized to the Goddess.

[That's okay, I even purposely hide my identity to you] she said with a dignified voice.

[Now that you are here, we should finish your business for coming here.] The Goddess said.

She raised her hand and swung it in the air, and immediately a large number of various weapons appeared floating on the sky. Swords, wands, knives, samurai, bows and many more weapons are displayed.

I was in awe with just what had happened, and the Goddess spoke out.

[There are three types of weapons – Melee types, ranged types, and lastly are healer types. And each type of weapon corresponds to a class] She explained, [Now, tell me what type of weapon do you wish to wield?]

Yoshi contemplated on as the Goddess had asked him. Ever since he had played the game, he didn't think about anything about classes and what so he only had thought of one thing, to finally be able to face the sun. So for him to decide on the spot was a hard decision for him.

I hesitated to speak, "Ummm… W-would you be able to pick out for me?" I had asked

With the sudden request, the Goddess was flabbergasted but she calmed herself.

[I would recommend choosing a ranged type of weapon] She suggested.

"Then I would pick that type." I excitedly said.

[Very well]

At that moment all the melee type, and healer type weapons faded slowly in air and all that was left floating on air are the ranged type weapons. Bows, wands, staves, and a gun.

As I quickly glanced at all the left weapons floating in the air, I was shocked to see a gun. I had thought guns in MMORPG's did not exist, but maybe it was only my prejudice that made me think of that.

I approached the gun, and immediately a screen appeared .

[Musket - Common

Damage: 60 + Str, and Dex

Restriction: Marksman class

Status: Dex + 20

Agility + 15

Str + 5

Range: 40 meters - 60 meters + Dex

Shots per/min: 1 per/3 min

Reload: 3 minutes]

As I read its description, I was happy that it does a lot of damage but it was ridiculous to only have 1 shot every 3 minutes. So, I checked the other weapons. I went into the bow sections, and checked their descriptions.

[Long Bow - Common

Damage: 40 + Str, and Dex

Restriction: Archer class

Status: Dex + 20

Agility + 15

Str + 5

Range: 45 meters - 65 meters + Dex

Shots per/min: 1 per/1 min

Reload: 1 minute]

[Short Bow - Common

Damage: 40 + Str, and Dex

Restriction: Archer class

Status: Dex + 20

Agility + 15

Str + 5

Range: 40 meters - 55 meters + Dex

Shots per/min: 1 per/1 min

Reload: 1 minute]

As I looked at each weapon's descriptions, they are much better than the musket. I went into the wands and stave section and looked at its description.

[Wand - Common

Damage: 45 + Int

Restriction: Mage class

Status: Int + 30]

[Staff - Common

Damage: 45 + Int

Restriction: Sage class

Status: Int + 30]

As I had checked every description of the ranged weapons available. Thinking about it, the musket's only good thing is that it deals quite a lot of damage, but that's the only good thing about it. The range and reload sucks.

But for some reason, my gut feeling is being attracted to it, and as I look upon it, I see it brightly shining for some reason.

I approached it once again and looked at its description once more.

The Goddess who was only waiting patiently spoke out, [Have you decided on a weapon of choice?]

I gulped, "Y-yes, this one please" I replied hesitantly while pointing my finger on the musket. 'I hope I picked the right choice' Yoshi had only thought at that moment.

[Great!] As soon as the Goddess said the word, all the weapons disappeared.

She raised both of her hands and pointed them to me and my body started to glow and I floated into the air.

[King and Queen of the Gods and Goddess, gaze upon this brave and mighty human.] she said, [Please give him your blessings…]

My body shined brightly for a couple of seconds and it stopped and I safely landed on the ground.

The Goddess smiled brightly to me, [You have now officially changed classes. You are now a marksman.] she said.

As I glanced at my body, I noticed that I had changed my equipment into a different outfit. The white shirt, and brown pants that I was wearing was changed into a brown leather jacket with a hood, underneath it is a gray shirt. I was also wearing fitted black leather pants and to match it up is a pair of leather boots.

[You look very good in that] The Goddess complimented me.

I blushed at what she had just said, "Thanks."

[You may now pick up the musket that's in front of you.] She instructed.

I followed what she had told me and grabbed it with both of my hands.

[Holding that musket, you look like a veteran] The goddess giggled.

I blushed again with what she said, but before I was able to reply she continued to speak.

[This is the end of changing your class. May we be able to meet in the future.] she smile at me, [May the light always be with you]

"Thanks"

After that, my vision went dark and the next thing I knew I was teleported back to the room of the church. I looked at the statue and the mana stone that I had placed is now gone, and the book is placed perfectly. I stood up and bid my goodbye to the statue and went out of the room.

As soon as I had gotten outside, I saw Lynch who also just went outside of the room. He was wearing a violet robe and was carrying a long staff.

"Sage?" I asked him.

Lynch looked at me with a bright smile on his face and then he nodded, "How about you?"

As he asked me that, I pulled out the musket that I was wearing on my back.

He saw the weapon I was carrying and asked, "A musket?" He looked at me with a shocked face, "Marksman?"

I just simply nodded.

We then decided to go out of the church as we were talking about stuff like why we decided to pick our classes.

"Well I had already researched about it earlier on a fansite."

I had a shocked face, "It already has a fansite although this day is its first day?"

"Yeah!" he said excitedly, "As Ren Blakely is a part of developing this game. Its popularity has skyrocketed"

'I didn't know it was this popular' Yoshi thought to himself. "Well, can you tell me the name of the site?

"Sure. Just search up on the internet 'SecondLifeOnline.com' and the site will pop up."

"Cool! Thanks Lynch." I said to him,

"No problem. By the way, will I be able to add you as a friend?" He asked.

"Yeah sure" I said.

As I agreed, Lynch smiled and he started pointing his finger on air nonstop, he was using the game screen. After a while, a notification appeared in front of me.

[Lynch sent you a friend request

Accept/Reject]

I pressed the accept button and another notification appeared.

[Lynch has been added as friend]

"I think its already late at the real world. I'm logging out now, Yoshi."

"I should logged out too," I said.

"Okay" Lych said, "I'll go first then. Log Out!" he shouted in the air and his character had pixelated and disappeared.

I also went after him, "Log out!" I shouted.

My vision darkened and the next thing I knew, my consciousness was back in the real world.
