Perfect Timing

Kita didn't know how long he was there, But as soon as he left the room, he was surrounded by the guard again. They took him to the designated area and forced him to go through additional treatment.

Kita laid there in the bed for a couple of hours before the Medics came and let him know what all of his vital signs were good. But they still recommends that he stay there for a couple of hours.

Kita looked at the guards, it didn't seem like that there was a option. So he decided to stay there anyway. There was still a bit more time left before the production was finished. He could take a rest there.

"Might as well." Kita left out a long sigh before he got comfortable.

He looked at the white ceiling, as a VIP, he was afforded a room of his own. The guards were outside of the room right now.

As he laid there, he tried to think of a way he could get access to one of the main turrets and fire one of the Fritzers.

The turrets were mostly automated. Everything from the loading to targeting was done automatically. It only needed a command from the central command to fire at the targets. The command center was located at the bridge. But it was always really busy and there was no way to fire a warhead without any interference.

Not to mention the access to turn on the turret in the first place.

Although Kita was quite high up in the command chain aboard the shore, he didn't have the clearance needed to operate the turrets. That clearance lied with the key military personnel like Captain Huges and Lieutenant Holland. They had the key cards needed to activate the main turrets.

So Kita now only needed to find a way to get access to the bridge and the war console, but also the keycards. Not to mention, he needed to find a way to get access to one of the Fritzers and install the Payload. Which was already risky enough.

If anyone got the wind of what he was up to, he would be stopped no matter what. So he couldn't let anyone in on his plan. No seek help from anyone. Whatever he was gonna do, it would have be done by him alone.

However, no matter what he thought up, he didn't really see anyway he could accomplish his goals. The main bain of his problems were that he had a really short time frame, he needed to be in multiple places at the same time. Which wasn't achievement.

This was a headache for him.

He only had one shot at this. So he needed to be meticulous and precise. There was no room for error. If he got red-handed in the action, who knew what would happen to him. Even Kita didn't have any idea what the Viziers would do. He could make some guesses, but none of them were pretty.

As he laid there racking up his brain, York entered the room. Kita's attention suddenly snapped back to reality as he noticed someone enter the room.

He looked at York.

"Hey, Kita. How are you feeling? You gave us quite the scare collapsing like that. Is everything okay right now?"

"Well, The medics think so. They didn't find anything wrong with my body.", Kita said in a straight tone.

York suddenly stopped as he approached him.

"Why do I get the feeling that you're hiding something?", York looked at him with suspicious gaze.

"What do I have to hide? How'd I know what's wrong with my body better than them? If they say everything is normal, it must be.", Kita said in a offhanded tone, as he didn't want York to pry into the events. But that didn't work. York pried into it anyway.

He came up to his bed and then pulled a chair before sitting.

"What happened in there? What was the last thing you remember?", York asked in a concerned tone.

What happened to Kita wasn't normal. He had suddenly collapsed out of the blue and was having constant seizures for many hours. It was a miracle that everything seemed to be fine after he was taken to the Med bay.

York ran to the Lab as soon as he had heard that Kita collapsed. He had tried to enter the door with his pass code that kita had given him, but to no avail. Kita had the full Lab under lock-down.

Kita wasn't in the best of mental state right now. So he understood why Kita locked himself inside the lab. But that didn't ease up his concerns.

When Kita was finally taken out, he was there. Kita was lying down inside the scanner room. Maybe he was trying to scan something?

But he didn't see anything around him. A few hours after he left Kita at the med bay, he got the news that Kita had woken up, only to then run back inside the lab! This wasn't like him at all!

He contacted Dr. Kbom, but it seemed that even a warning from him could get Kita out. So he decided to wait it out.

Now that he was finally here and was receiving treatment. York had the chance to ask him what was going on. His gut told him that there was something going on with Kita, but he didn't know what.

"I was just trying to scan something when I blanked out. I don't remember much after that, only that I opened the door and then blanked out again. Only to find myself in the med-bay.", Kita avoided the key parts of the events for obvious reasons. There was no way he could tell York what was doing.

York looked at him with a squint in his eyes. It didn't seem like he believed what Kita said. But he didn't push him any far.

"How long are you gonna stay In here?"

"Not long, they just want me here for a few hours. After that I'm free to go."

"Why do I get the feeling that you don't wanna stay here?"

"Cause I don't!"

"Fine fine. By the way. The funeral time has been decided. It's tomorrow morning. Just before we're scheduled to enter FTL."

This perked Kita up!

"Tomorrow?"

"Yes. Even though we've lost so many, our mission needs to continue. So the captain wants to address everyone before we continue our journey. It's been hard on everyone."

This was perfect for Kita. This was exactly what he needed!

"You're gonna come. Right?"

"Yes! I'll be there! Don't worry!"

"Okay, see you there." York said as he got up.

"Take a great rest. Bye"

York left the room after saying that. He didn't notice that Kita had an excited look on his face.
