Boss Fight

Luke pondered about the Level 15 Orc he was about to confront while he recovered his Stamina Points from the fight with the gang of goblins. Going for the head with a stealth approach was suicidal because the orc was taller than him, and his options for killing the orc in a one-on-one battle without an attack skill were extremely restricted, if not outright impossible.

Luke considered "If the situation gives me an opening, I will use my 'forbidden move' which I used to do in my early days".

After passing through the last road crossing, Lucas noticed the main entry gate of the village, which was roughly 16 feet in size. Beneath the gate stood an orc that was half the size of the gate.

The 9.5-foot Orc resembled a towering, mutant pig with two massive tusks that protruded from the corners of his mouth. These tusks were originally white, but they were now stained scarlet with human blood, signifying the number of people he had slain. He possessed a thick green hide that gave him very little resistance to elemental assaults and rudimentary protection against lower-degree burns.

Having seemingly shed his dread following his death, Luke now faced the monster without showing any signs of fear. There was just determination in his eyes now, to keep going no matter what.

"Come on you fat musclehead bastard pig," Luke said, grinning and flashing him his middle finger.

Despite his lack of knowledge of human language, the Orc deduced from the motions that the person in front of him was making fun of him.

Luke witnessed an orc yanking a large spiked mace from a human body and ripping it apart. That must be where the orc left it before beginning to eat. When Luke saw the image of the Orc getting ready for combat, blood spurted from the sharp points of the mace; Nevertheless, a battle-mad smile quickly spread across his face.

Without further ado, he cast his skill "Beat Sync" and dashed forward, banging his tuning forks together.

When Luke reached close to the Orc, he dodged a forward wide swing by ducking and stabbing the fork straight into the Orc's knee, impeding the movement of one leg of the Orc, then he hit the handle part of the tuning fork which was protruding out of the knee with the edge of the tuning fork in his hand, causing both forks to vibrate synchronizing the beat. While. The mace slid from the orc's hand as he lowered his knee and let out a guttural scream of anguish from the vibrating fork inside his knee. Not passing up the opportunity Luke went straight for the neck, but the orc, being a race of fighters, swung his arm at full force., The orc swung his arm at full force. Luke avoided the orc's near counter by rolling back since he was in the condition of boost, but this was enough for the orc to rise again, removing the fork from his knee and throwing it away.

Luke took advantage of the situation by making his forbidden move, the "NUTCRACKER." Yep, Luke kicked the balls of the Orc but since he used this move many times while he was a child, other children who used to bully him at school talking about him being an orphan, and many times while fighting in his previous life, he knew that something was amiss, the feeling was not there but still Luke looked up hoping to see a pained expression on the Orc face but the Orc was looking at him with a very disgusting and creepy smile which sent shivers down his spine.

Luke was struck by an Orc blow to the face, which caused him to fly like a tattered doll into a structure. Ash was flung into the air, producing a smoke screen around Luke because the home had burned down.

"Hah… Hah…" Luke breathed heavily while blood was flowing down his nose. Because of the punch, he spat onto the ground, which contained more of his blood and teeth than a usual spit. He heard a persistent red beep from his side, which displayed his Health Points as 10/100, signifying that just 10% of his health remained.

Luke pondered: "How would someone consider the possibility that the gender of the Orc in the tutorial was random it is very unpredictable since this Orc was a FEMALE one". After all, who is free enough to verify the gender of an orc while battling it in the tutorial?

Luke slowly got up and noticed that the orc, who was hobbling on one leg, was still going quite quickly as he walked towards him with the spiked bat in his hand.

Luke looked down, he was left with only one fork, and finding the other was not an option in the current situation. So, he did what was most optimal in this situation, he ran, yep, he started running towards the center of the village because he was still thinking about buying some time to recover and not leaving the tutorial because he did not want to miss the rewards.

While fleeing, Luke glanced over his shoulder to see that the Orc had also begun to run, seeing his prey vanishing. Because of his size, the Orc was closing the space between them quickly and would eventually catch up with him.

Luke gave it his all, disregarding his stamina, and began to run faster than before, but he was still slow in comparison to the Orc. With death approaching, Luke's mind flew into overdrive, thinking, "I need the speed boost from the skill, but how... How. I don't have anything in my hand to match the beat... wait hand."

Luke called out the skill name "Beat Sync" and with a flicking motion, he flicked the side of the tuning fork with his finger, producing the sound that activated the boost, and he ran like no other while flicking the metal tuning fork with his fingers for continuous boost, despite his face displaying the pain he was constantly in.

Luke thought "In the tutorial, the pain sensitivity is around 10 to 20 percent but it still pains to hit metal with fingers but who cares life is more important after all since he will be fully healed after passing the tutorial".
