8: Salvatore

Mila keeps on staring at the two women causing Preios to stand and order the two maidens to get out and let them have a conversation privately. "So, what are the reasons you are here, Lilith?"

Mila went to the couch and sat, Preios personally gave her a tea even though he knew Mila wouldn't drink it. Preios owe his life to Mila, she saves his life when the time that he is almost killed by one of the members of a syndicate. Thanks to her abilities and skills in fighting, he survives the kidnapping incident.

"You know Zandro, right?" Preios stops from sipping his tea and looks at her seriously.

"What about him? You know I hate hearing the names of people especially if they are my enemies. That guy looks innocent but he is dangerous as hell, if you ask me to fight with him, I am sorry I wouldn't do that. He had too many connections that were hard to beat. Even, you can't kill that man because of how tight his security is. Not just that but he also knows how to protect himself and is a good shooter of different kinds of weapon." Mila stared at Preios eye. She didn't expect to receive such information from Preios about Zandro.

If she didn't even try to visit him, she wouldn't be able to know all of it. Also, if ever Zandro knows about her identity, it will be over her so she must not act recklessly and gain his trust and love. 'I didn't think I let my sister marry a dangerous man like him,' she thought to herself as she clenched her fist.

"I am here to ask you about him since I heard that you and Zandro Prosch were once best friends. So, I thought that you could give me a good quality of info about that man but it seems, you already told me everything." Preios laughs after Mila speaks causing the lady to raise her eyebrows out of confusion.

"The information I give to you is just a tiny bit of information about him, Lilith. If you badly want to know him more, you need to gain his trust. Zandro is not a person you can fool, the plot twist, he might be the one to make you look like a fool. Manipulate you and let you die mentally. That is what that demonic man is." Preios sipped his tea and began to speak again. "That is why I chose to detach myself from him."

Mila was now getting curious about the two men's relationships. She was thinking that maybe there was much more than that why Preios decided to detach himself from him. "Why did the two of you are not friends anymore anyway?" Preios stared at Mila because of her question.

"It is something that I need to keep a secret but I know I can trust you anyway," he pauses for a moment and speaks again. "You know the murder case of the big family three years ago, am I right? That case was closed immediately even without an investigation has been occured. Zandro Prosch murders the Dantiels Family who owns three big hotels and four percent land of an island in another country where they are making weapons.

"He murdered that family because of an argument they had at a special event. From the moment I heard things like that, I distanced myself from him. I don't want to get involved with his criminal activities. I value my business so much because of my deceased grandmother. I can lose a friend but I cannot lose something important for my family."

After Preios speaks, Mila begins to contemplate everything she has heard. The murder case of that family is such a mystery as investigators can't determine how the execution of murdering that family. Zandro is not the one who did it personally which is why she was thinking of something. Maybe the one who did that murder was one of the members of their organization, an assassin just like her. But who could it be?

"Why are you asking about him anyway? Don't tell me you're gonna kill that man?" Mila let out a sigh and stood up.

"No, I have plans but not related to my work. I have already resigned as an assassin a few years ago. I am living a normal life now. It is just that man did something horrible to me. I am taking revenge," Mila replied, looking at Preios. He slowly nodded his head and stood up as well.

"If there is something I can help you, tell me. You are welcome in my Casino, Lilith." Preios walks closer and moves his face, even closer to Mila while smirking. "Of course, you are also welcome in my heart. I won't stop trying to court you, Lilith. I swear to make you the happiest girl—" he wasn't able to finish his sentence when Mila punched him in the face.

"Hey! That's hurt!" he shouted, glaring at Mila.

She snickers and speaks. "Shut up, playboy. Someone already had my heart. I won't welcome any man that will come to my life." She smiles, and even though she is wearing a mask, Preios can sense the happy heart that Mila is feeling causing him to smile too.

"Then, I'll give the crown to that man then. He is lucky, I wish I could be him." Preios taps Mila's shoulder and speaks again. "Just always remember that you had me. If things get worse I am willing to help you. You've already done so many things in my life and I am very grateful to you, Lilith."

Mila smiled and now decided to walk to get out of the room. She stops first before finally leaving. "Thank you, Preios." She is now walking in a dark hallway after a few minutes of walking, she finally sees light from the Casino and the lady who was accompanying her earlier was waiting for her outside.

"Madam, please take this as a gift from Master Preios." Mila took the paper bag and looked inside it. It is a calling card of Salvatore's residence.

"Thank you." She immediately left and told the driver to take her to where Caleb was. She gently took the calling card from her purse and slowly took off the mask. It could see Mila's serious face after hearing about Zandro.

"That man is mysterious and crazy but that doesn't mean I will let him go. I will make sure to make him pay for what he did," she mutters as she sits outside the window of the car.
