The Ultimate Choice

I continue walking into complete darkness. I turn around to see the window now gone.

"There's no point returning now," I said slowly.

I turn back and continue into the darkness. Then, I heard a voice. I continue walking. As I venture on, I hear someone else walking next to me. I turn to see no one.

I continue walking. I then walk into a mirror. I stare at my reflection. All of a sudden my reflection talks on its own, "What are you staring at?"

I step back startled, "What the…"

My reflection steps out of the mirror and stands in front of me. She had only one starry eye on her left. She wipes her hair, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to regain control of my body," I said.

She stares at me, "Let's walk."

We proceed into the darkness. She puts her arm over my shoulder, "You want control of your body right?"

"Yes," I said. "Quickly as possible."

She laughs, "That's easy."

All of a sudden Ralf and Foster appear in front of us. She leans closer to my ear whispering, "You're going to have to forget about them."

I look at her, "You're joking."

She smiles, "No." She stops smiling, "I'm dead serious."

I stare at Ralf and Foster, "The answer is clear." I turn to myself, "No."

She stares at me for a couple of seconds before shrugging, "Just had to make sure."

Ralf and Foster disappear. All of a sudden, a huge blue shining sphere appears from the darkness.

I stare in awe, "What is it?"

"That…" says me. "Is our magic source. I had to make sure that you weren't the intruder."

I turn to myself, "But Aamon…"

She shakes her head, "He managed to slip past me. I was too occupied keeping us from freezing."

I stare back at my magic, "I don't see anything wrong with it."

My twin walks forward and spins it revealing half of the sphere black.

"He poisoned our magic," she says. "When you were knocked out during our fight with Aamon." She creates a screen revealing when Aamon poisoned me. Foster watches struggling to break free from the crystal to no avail. The screen goes away.

"If Aamon wants our magic," I said. "Why didn't he just take it right there and then?"

"We weren't his main focus," she says. "He was focused on Foster. He planted that parasite to freeze us as a way to torment us. That was until his little parasite found something interesting in us."

I turn to myself, "Interesting?"

My twin stares at me and sighs, “If I had to guess it might be with something with our starry eyes.”

I tilt my head confused, “Is there any way to regain control of my body?"

"I don't know how to do that I'm afraid," my twin says slowly. "The only way we can retake back control of our body is if Aamon were to get hurt while controlling our body."

Just as she says that Aamon suddenly appears from the darkness and slams into the ground.

Aamon slams his fist down angrily shouting, "That damn woman!" He looks up at us. His right eye had a dark star, "Lucky me you are already here!" He jumps straight for me.

The other me instantly punts him away. She had a smile on her face, her left eye shining brightly, "This is my lucky day indeed." She turns to me, "I'll keep him occupied while you find a way to stop him from taking over our body."

"No!" shouts Aamon as he rushes at us. She freezes him in place. I quickly turn and bolt back to the window. As soon as I see the window, without any hesitation, I jump into the window. I go right through.

I find myself lying face down in the snow. My head is throbbing with pain. I slowly pick myself up. I look up to see a pan heading straight for my face. I duck just in time.

I turned to see that it was Hellen holding the pan.

"It's me!" I shouted quickly.

"Shut up!" shouts Hellen cautiously. "What happened to Glenn!"

As she swings I jump back saying, "It's really me!"

I land right next to a wall. Out of nowhere, an ax lands right next to my head. The Chief suddenly rushes at me with a punch. I roll out of the way as the fist flies over me.

"You're going to talk," says the Chief as he pulls his ax out of the wall. "One way or another."

I shake my head vigorously, "I promise it's me!" I form an ice cube over my hand, "See! It's blue, not black!"

They both stare at me cautiously.

I looked around to see that we were now at the exit. I looked straight up to see that we were in between the walls. Right above us was a large spike of dark ice stuck between the two walls.

"Please," I said slowly. "Trust me."

They look at each other before slowly lowering their weapons.

"Okay, so what happened while I was gone?"

Hellen steps up, "I instantly knew something was off when I talked with you at the cliff. With black ice and the star in your right eye black. Your right eye is somewhat dim right now."

I form ice in front of me to see my reflection. My right star was no longer black but just gray.

"She told me," says the Chief. "So we kept an eye on you as we made our way here." He takes a deep breath, "As soon as we got here you suddenly stood up and said, 'Time to tie loose ends,' and formed a large ice spike right about our heads ready to trap us here!"

"I hit you with my pan as you fired it," says Hellen. "Thankfully whatever you tried to do didn't work."

All of a sudden, Aamon's voice echoes in my head saying, "I don't think so…"

I look up to see the ice spike explode. The entire place begins to shake. Enormous boulders fall straight for us.

Without a second to spare, I instantly create ice all around us, filling the place. The boulders smash into the ice sending cracks all around. I continuously repair the ice until the boulders finally stop falling.

I feel the ice spread up my body. I hear cracks around me. I watch as the ice around us begins to crack again.

There's too much weight," I said slowly. I look up at the Chief, "When I say go have everyone rush for the exit."

The Chief nods.

I take a deep breath, "Now!" The Chief shouts commanding everyone to rush. Everyone's sled rushes forward. Just as we're about to crash into the ice, I carve a passageway through the ice. Cracks instantly appear all around us. I desperately repair the roof above us. The ice behind us caves in, quickly catching up to us.

Everyone flies out of the ice just as it reaches us revealing an open field of snow. We were finally out of the encased mountains.

The ice begins to spread up my body.

Hellen shouts, “Glenn!”

The ice stops.

My face slowly begins to smile wickedly.

"I'm afraid Glenn isn't here," my mouth says on its own.

I instantly punch myself and fall off the moving sled.

"No!" I shouted as I stood up from the snow.

"Let it happen!" shouts Aamon with my voice. "You'll freeze if you don't!"

The Chief with Hellen carrying Odin Jr rushes to my aid.

I hold out my hand stopping them, "DON'T!"

I snicker, "Yes… COME TO ME!"

"AHHHHHH!!!!" I fire ice in front of me. I see my reflection. My right star was black but my left was shining brightly.

I spot something in the distance. My face grows wide in shock. It was the castle… Foster's castle of Gripan.

I grin, "This is perfect."

"Huh," says Aamon.

I begin to form a ball of ice around me as my body begins to turn to ice.

“STOP!” Aamon shouts. “YOU’RE TURNING TO ICE FASTER!”

I shout to Hellen and Odin, "Go to that castle and wait for my husband Foster!"

"What about you?" shouts Odin.

I smile calmly, "Don't worry about me. It will be alright. Wait for him no matter how long it takes!"

I wink at Hellen who begins to cry.

"STOP!" shouts Aamon desperately. I smile and close my eyes as the ice covers my body, trapping myself inside freezing in place.

I think to myself, "I break out of a trap to voluntarily go back into one…"

My consciousness slowly turns to black.
