Umm... I agree that the story itself was good from chap 1-320, but I'm gonna have to point out that the author is very inconsistent concerning his schedule. Right now, he has disappeared from the face of the Earth for a week, no warnings, no announcements of any kind. He does not respect his own words/promises of mass releases (minimum 3 times this happened). And even misses the usual chapters he was supposed to release during that time. And then continues like nothing happened. He slowed the pace of the story soooo much. He teases too many times (often chapter after chapter) with the same things, without adding more. The whole part of the story that was supposed to matter feels like a tease. E.g., Alyssa's backstory, the purple guy, the time goddess, the ancient rune master guy. Everything is a tease without proper payouts. He also decided to milk this, but can't even respect his own schedule. And I see almost no one pointing this out in these comments. So, author does not really deserve "5 stars" like you mentioned.

Yeah I feel let down too. If you don't mind, what are the other novels you mentioned? I'm looking for other novels to read. I just started Lord of the Mysteries as I heard it's good. Also Academy Professor. I heard Reverand Insanity's novel is really good, and I'm gonna check it out (I read the manhwa long ago and it was great)

Hello. I've read up t 244 chapters right now myself. And I can say I already have those feelings. Everyone praising the author for good world-building. I agree with them. Many are criticising the author for pace and stretching the story and almost every scene. I kinda agree with them, but tbh, since I'm binge reading and there are 800+ chapters available, I did not feel it that much. It felt rather pleasing for me to have all those details as I tend to imagine every scene when I read. But DAMN did I feel betrayed by the author already on the second volume. Especially that damn obsession with Nephis! She only has a really good background (well-written). Everything else is bland. Her personality, interactions, everything! And I am not gonna forget how the author introduced the character to be cunning, a nice plotter, good a deception, and all the personal drive he got in the first volume. Only to trow it ALL away in the second volume. And from what I'm reading to come, things get more bad (shi**y). I think I'm gonna wait till it has 1000 chapters and see if anything turns for the better concerning MC's personality. Otherwise, this story would be a massive deception for me too. Especially one that's being praised as "number 1 this, number 1 that!". But the author himself forgot what he wrote at first, and led us to have a deceiving idea of the "MC".

Everything has already turned to shit. Especially towards Nephis. And I'm here reading, trying to find out if it gets any better... But now you say she enslaved him? Is that literal or not? And is he still a dog, following the female leads around with no character development until the latest chapters? Please.

Agreed. I'm still on 240th chapter and I could not support Sunny becoming Nephis' dog anymore... All his setup and development in volume 1 - author decided to burn them and throw them in the bin for volume two. That's why I'm here reading reviews to see if it gets better. But unfortunately, the future chapters look bleak... :/ Maybe I'm gonna wait for some more hundreds of chapters and come back to see if it gets better. Or maybe I'm gonna push through some hundreds more chapters... I've started Lord of the Mysteries in parallel. Gotta say LotM has got more of my attention for now.

She does have a good setup written for her. But her personality imo is BLAND. Does Sunny's character change to make him less/not susceptible to be taken advantage of? Especially his mind. I really thought this was a really good story all around. And it kind of is. The MC himself is a bit of a disapointment! I'm gonna have to agree wholeheartedly with your comment. The author was so great at writing and elaborating so many things, perspective details, character traits (especially mc and friends) in the first volume. Could say it was a masterpiece of start and setup! But the second volume was so disappointing!! Especially MC's character and mindset. The author wrote all this "development" for him when he was in the black mountain arc (first dream/trial something). All of his cunningness, street-smarts, planning, deception abilities, etc... developed so hard and his mindset of was enhanced further... Only to be scratched COMPLETELY in the second volume. And I say that even before all the "traumatic experiences" he went through, especially after escaping the ashen barrow part. I actually liked the relationships he was developing to try create rapports with strangers. He was still using his head at that time. But then, he loses it completely. And I don't like it how he has become this fucking dog that "oops I forgot to negotiate my end of the deal" when meeting his former partners again. How many deals has he been on the "losing" end!? (especially giving valuable memories like the blood arrows to Kai for the same amount of memory cores it is equivalent, without taking account it's rarity, it's adaptability to Kai's skills, and the shear badassness the memory has. All that would make the actual value worth so much more! But he let's it go like that. There are other examples too.) But I especially lost it when he felt guilty for the deal he already did dozens/hundred chapters earlier with Nephis for her to teach him her family's sword art. He even has the balls to say he "scammed" her!! That's totally untrue from whatever perspective we can see it. And also not the character that the author has been writing from the beginning at all!! A short while later (up to now ~240 chapters), I'm feeling a bit tired about him being such a crying bitch to all the females - especially Nephis and Epphie (I really really like Epphie mind you. I just can't support reading Sunny losing EVERY confrontation he has with her!). I decided to read the reviews and comments to see if his character gets better over time (since there are hundreds of chapters to go already!). But GOD DAMN ! I read that Nephis is getting the romance partner treatment. Sunny is still a bitch at 800th chapter (is that still true!!??). Holy shit! Could someone please confirm if he is still a dog at 800th chapter please? I really like the premise and background of the story. Even the developments. But the MC is so fucking unbearable! That's not a street-hardened individual's personality at all!! And the women are sometimes so unbearable too. Like Nephis' robot personality (staring into the distance, no facial expressions, "betrayal/decpetion" but Sunny forgets it all and is glued to her like a magnet, etc...)
