Wouldn't the sound be quieter with the barrier in the way (since sounds would get trapped inside) and you would only hear the diffused version of the sound (like if someone was looking away from you while talking)

Love the story but just wondering, in chapter 3 Brynn writes regarding her mother 'make it so her health is at its peak and remains that way regardless of external factors.’ Does kinetic force not count as an external factor?
